Mr.HHN
So I'm guessing that HoH is IP based since he is starting the original maze this week and all the codenames he's released are for mazes that he's already finished.
StraightEdge
Dracula Untold in HOH. Called it .
ferox
Or...there's more venues than we know about. Or one of the previously released codenames is actually for the HOH.
Freak
Maybe Dracula: Untold could be going in HoH....but I doubt it. I'm puzzled as to what's going in there. All that disappointment from last year I had that caused all of that ranting...I'm willing to give this year a good chance now. It seems like they're seriously investing into this year now. Just the tweets Murdy has made about no repeats, the no music maze, and the original maze has me STOKED. After all of those years bickering about the repeats.... Or...there's more venues than we know about. I'm pretty certain they're expanding the backlot experience this year.... Murdy did say one of the codenames is in HoH. ferox
I would certainly count on TWD coming back, but if it's as different from No Safe Haven as No Safe Haven was from Dead Inside, I will be a happy camper. Well, as long as it is as good as either of those mazes. Anyway, AWIL seems a bit obvious with the Dr. Pepper clue. Any AWIL fan knows about that, and Murdy is a big AWIL fan so he knows what AWIL fans know.
ferox
...what if we get TRT and they use the one or two of the AWIL puppets? That scene just screams distraction scare. Oh here's little red riding hood...check her out STROBEWOLFFROMTHELEFTSTROBEWOLFFROMTHERIGHTOHNO. It would be a nice treat for AWIL fans but avoid the whole awareness issue. aam29290
What if we get an entirely original maze, not based on any music IP or urban legend, and also what if we get one of Orlando's original houses from previous years?
ferox
He already confirmed no music mazes.

ferox
I know, but you said "What if it's not a music maze" and I said there's no what if. The other things are possible, but Murdy seems to avoid doing stuff that Orlando has done.

aam29290
It can be anything, all I know is that im really excited for an original maze not based on musi, and hopefully not based on an urban legend.
DTH316
So many bombshells dropped tonight that completely change the scope of HHN 2014! So it looks like no Insidious (kind of a shocker) since I doubt they'd do an all new maze based off of it. TWD is still a possibility since an all new maze on it is plausible. UMR is DEAD AND HISTORY. Thank the maker! I had an odd desire to see what other atrocities awaited us with that, but I'm stoked to see what else they'll come up with for the HOH. Could the Purge take it over? If its still the front zone, a maze right next to it would make a lot of sense. And from what I'm aware of from the first film, there's not a whole lot of material to make a maze from, unless its based 95% on the sequel. I'm sure there'd be more havoc then what the Strangers caused. And no surprise, Evil Dead, El Cucuy and Black Sabbath aren't returning. Speaking of that last one... possibly my favorite news is NO ROCKER MAZE. My prayers were answered. However, that still leaves 3D up in the air - will it take over an IP or be apart of the ONE ORIGINAL MAZE we get this year? At least 5 IPs, that's a pretty heavy number, and probably more than ever. HHN just got wayyyyy more exciting.
StraightEdge
Murdy sure is putting a lot of work into this year. What if it is his last year?
ferox
Personally I really dig urban legends (since urban legends are the oldest form of horror, Dracula and Wolfman would not exist without folklore!) but if it's something out of left field I am up for that too.
AsylumSB
It will be nice to have a slightly different theme in HOH. Interesting... Murdy did not actually say Remix was gone, per se, just that he retired the name (which he did not care for). Also, my immediate thought was that "Soap" related to Scream since Drew Barrymore has a movie out this year and had a featured cameo in the first(?) film. She started out in commercials as well. Zero56
“@HorrorNights: @jakesundstrom let me just simply say there are no mazes you experienced last year that will return this year...” I wonder how hard Murdy was laughing at the people who speculated Kiss.
Zero56
Aren't some of Monster Remix's lighting being installed into House of Horrors for the normal operation hours in the next refurb? I could have sworn I heard that somewhere. The whole Remix lighting is a temporary setup but it's still in there. Maybe that should be some clue of what might be going in HoH? He said no Dubstep theme so maybe just old school classic monsters. Might be looking too far into it but we could probably see another scenario like in 2010 where an Orlando house theme was put in House of Horrors. Not as hard as the people on the forums He did say that there were options in the rock field that he just decided not to pursue.. And I'm NOT SURE if I should say this or not... Allegedly, someone tweeted the KISS Twitter page, asking if they planned on doing anything related to Halloween or theme parks (can't remember the specifics) and they responded that KISS was approached but couldn't come to an agreement creative-wise Edited April 21, 2014 by horror lover

DTH316
I really dug Vampyre (my fav overlay) but from the looks of it, HOH has been equipped with an IP. Its much easier to come up with something original instead of trying to make things fit for a property. I think that's partly why UMR was successful to most people, because the theme was "random ass shit." And Vampyre was successful because no matter the environment, it had a different story for why it was like that (Chucky room being a nursery). The next hope is if the IP suits those environments. The only thing I can imagine doing that is Cabin in the Woods, but I would feel seriously robbed if it didn't get its own locale. To see those monsters in the HOH would be cool, but in their own maze would be better. Next would be the Purge. Purgers vs. Monsters. The announcement and sirens going off while havoc is all around. Murder and mayhem when the real world and fantasy collide. Actually, I'm kinda digging this idea.... not to mention, we'd get a potential Strangers vs. Purgers stand off :-P

Dr. John Overwatch
For the record, Tobe Hooper directed Poltergiest. Spielberg produced it, so its still possible they're working together on this. Sorry I'm a little late to getting to this, I was going to post this but I figured that it wouldn't be relevant. Tobe Hooper was attached as director of Poltergeist, yes. But according to behind the scenes stuff it has been said he wasn't "take charge enough" and Speilberg, what with the shooting taking place during a delay in E.T. thus providing him a lot of free time, took over in some respects with behind the camera and special effects work. Note also that due to licensing, Speilberg couldn't have his name attached to the directing role as he wasn't allowed to. Thus, he took the role of producer, this being one of the few times where "officially" he took that role instead. The subject of "who directed Poltergeist" is still debated to this day.
