ferox
I was referring to the spec that it was Resident Evil...sorry with the various lines of spec it's hard to keep conversations straight. Just out of curiosity, how do you guys think they could pull of the xenonorphs since murdy said the costumes would be to expensive. I'm thinking they'd do puppets similar to La Llorona But would a puppet Xenomorph be really cheaper than a costume?
Ridesandstuff
With the puppets you could just have the heads of the xenomorphs scaring guest similar to AWIL or if the wanted a full body alien, they could do something similar to la Llorona where only the parts that the guests would see would look good. They could even repurpose the puppets from the ting and LL. IMO a full body costume for multiple scareactors seems more expensive than just the heads as well as the full body puppets.
ferox
The AWIL puppets were insanely expensive, and they weren't "just heads" either.

Ridesandstuff
The AWIL puppets were insanely a expensive, and they weren't "just heads" either. Understood. Wether it be just the heads or half the body it still seems more cost effective to use puppets similar to AWIL, or animatronic that they usually use than the full body costumes that they have to make for the scareactors. Freak
The AWIL puppets were insanely expensive, and they weren't "just heads" either. Those puppets were so insanely expensive, I heard that AWiL alone ate up 1/3 of the event's budget because of those puppets! Yeah, they're not cheap. With Alien, you'd have to combine the cost with the insanely detailed sets.
ferox
And comparing a pretty basic werewolf design (as awesome as they were) to something like a xenomorph it would certainly cost a lot more.
StraightEdge
I want to believe we got Alien but idk in the beginning of the year, Murdy did say on Twitter it would be expensive as hell to do.
Ridesandstuff
Then if the animatronics/ puppets, costumes, and enviornments would all be expensive, should we even consider alien as a possibility?
StraightEdge
I think we can. TWD would be rather cheap since they can just reuse all the TWD stuff they had before. Also, The Purge doesn't seem like an expensive property. HOH dont need much. It just depends idk.
Grindhousehero13
As cool as Alien would be I wouldn't count on it until we get some sort of proof or sign or at this point miracle.
DTH316
Gale Anne Hurd produced both Aliens and The Walking Dead... fun fact I'm nearing 5000 posts. Crap! Edited April 13, 2014 by DTH316

I honestly think the resident evil connection is a more probable guess. Apparently Aiello was talking about an OMG property around the same time murdy was talking about his so it may not be as likely as I thought
DTH316
As much as I love Resident Evil and would love to see it SOON, it might be best to wait for a new creative director who is not only familiar with the property but also loves it. I want to see it done justice. We've been burned before with Scream and Silent Hill (decent but could've been better) due to a lack of familiarity to the IP. RE is only worth doing based on the games and it isn't something he can just watch a few movies and get away with like he did Silent Hill (he got lucky since the movies were similar, but the RE movies and games are obviously vastly different and wouldn't mesh well). mystiquephreeq
I was referring to the spec that it was Resident Evil...sorry with the various lines of spec it's hard to keep conversations straight. It is hard to keep straight! Especially since I'm not familiar with this side of the boards. I'm an Orlando HHNer. We are bereft of any decent clues and puzzles to figure out at the moment, so I've decided to give Murdy's code names a go. I know his clues tend to be convoluted, but I'm unsure of his full process. Is the Alien link I suggested a good way to figure out his clues? Here are Aiello's tweets. They were posted the same day as Murdy's tweets regarding the "fan freak out" maze (actually the two announcements happened within about 45 minutes from each other). @HorrorNightsORL: Just confirmed one of the mazes just two hours ago. This one.. Oh yes this one... Unbelievable. @HorrorNightsORL: This is one of those dream properties. The characters involved are epic! Very excited for the team.. And of course the fans! @HorrorNightsORL: All good things.. @HorrorNightsORL: This is one of those "Man, wouldn't it be cool if...nah there's no way... What? We got it?" moments. @HorrorNightsORL: Then the elation of the "we got it" moment turns into pure terror of now having to live up to it. Same emotion we had with AWIL. If the two mazes are the same property, Resident Evil just doesn't seem to fit Mike's tweets. This is why I began leaning toward Alien/Aliens, it was one of the first properties to jump into my head. The other was Poltergeist.

After seeing that Atari 2600 codename, it seems a little obvious too me that it may have something to do with space. I think Alien seems more likely than ever.
Ridesandstuff
That's possible since last year was apparently there most successful. Murdy still seems to have a firm stance on what properties to use cost wise, no matter how much money they have. They didn't even do one Gillman costume for UMR because that would be too costly. BTW, they're connecting Alien to Beauty is only skin deep, not Atari. But speaking of Atari, In Poltergiest you can see an atari 2600 on top of the TV. It's not much but it's a start...

That would seem reasonable. Even if HHN had a dramatic budget increase, you don't want to spend left and right and then, before you know it, "Crap! Time to pull out those black walls and reuse the Saw and Hostel props."
ferox
It seems really, really obvious and easy to figure out if it's Alien. If it's actually Alien it might be the most obvious codename in HHN history, moreso than Bunny Gibbons.

I hosnestly don't mind reused props but pllleeaassee no more black walls. They did kind of cut down on them last year. The only one that was bad was the hallway in el cucuy Usually the black hallways are used as transitions, but there are places where it's part of the set and that bothers me. I don't know why they've quit using it, but they need to use the green mesh netting and vines to cover them up more.
JDW
Sets really aren't that expensive for alien. Grey walls, large pipes, tubing, chains, etc. Really nothing out of the ordinary. It's your typical scifi hallways scenes. You have inside the ship but you know there is no way they can pull off the scale. Would have to be forced perspective/optical illusion. Aliens would be a little harder scene. Still a lot of piping. But you have the hive scenes, the face hugger room, and maybe a brief outside scene. Honestly I don't think they would be THAT hard. Over here in Orlando, Interstellar Terror was a very deatailed space ship based of event horizon with a ton of amazing effects. It's ashame it got such poor reception. See my walkthrough of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--vXV-Q_0NQ
Don W
I have one theory about the Atari 2600 code name. He said the name was related to a sound effect from a game published for the system, but wasn't sure if the sound was actually in the Atari version PacMan was released for the 2600 and the sound famously known from that game is the Waka-waka sound when he's eating pellets. Now, this may be a stretch, but if you just take the sound for what it is, you can say its similar to Wocka-wocka, like Fozzy Bear from the muppets used to say. Looking up the history on Fozzy, he was puppeted mainly by Frank Oz, Oz was an actor as well as puppeteer. Appearing in many films including... American Werewolf in London. I'm probably way off, but that's just one conclusion I came too. It hard to make a good guess until Murdy starts dropping more clues.
