There aren't any other high profile horror flicks coming out. So I think that Murdy changed his mind about the whole 9 year thing. When he first said it, HHNH wasn't as big as it is now. Now he's breaking records every year and when somebody is in charge of something and doing it very well, their bosses want to keep them in that spot. Murdy is making them money. While he could want to retire and spend more time with his family, he could also pay for his kid's college fund by doing HHN. I don't think he's starving for money, but I know that execs want him to work there. Furthermore...if it's really his last year you would think (doesn't prove, but suggests) that they would make a big deal out of it. HHN fans have a connection to Murdy and if this is his going away tour so to speak, that could be a selling point. Selling points are good for business. Or maybe he's making that announcement later. I'm always at my father's place whenever Murdy comes over to watch the Twilight Zone and eat pizza. He said that it was his final year and he didn't want to tell anyone. Of course, that's what Murdy said when he had a few too much wine and Bud Lite. Murdy even showed me the plans for the Purge and it looks AWESOME. He did say that one of the mazes is on his all time wanted list...so we can almost confirm Exorcist at this point.
