Scrapped houses, changed effects, dropped characters, etc?

I'm still waiting for AHS to hit season nine.

Then we can just have a year of HHN where EVERY HOUSE IS BASED OFF AN INDIVIDUAL SEASON!!!

I'm just having trouble thinking of how they'd do it and not utilize a "greatest hits" approach. The show is despite being horror based just doesn't have a lot of truly scary settings or really threatening characters that would work as aggressors. A few bits from each season would work, but basing a whole house on one season would seem forced.
