I'm really surprised that The Thing is tied for the lowest. This same poll pre-Carnival of Carnage it was the most anticipated.

My guess is that its only a reflection of the potentially-riot-causing hatred of the remake-of-a-remake (i.e., backlash from the movie).

I mean....... would you put a house based on Dominion as a much-anticipated house, given that it is wholly unnecessary and nearly sacrilege? (I'm assuming your handle is an Exorcist reference . . . .)

What are your most anticipated houses?

I am missing something! Can somebody please tell me why the Nightengales house is ranked so high on this vote? Is there supposed to be something extra special about that house?

It's probably because of the picture we saw of what they are going to look like. That house is going to be scary as hell...

You could be right. I'm not down for the remake either but it was right in the middle of my most anticipated list. This is A&D's 3rd attempt at "The Thing" and it's in a soundstage. I think it's going to take a lot of people by surprise.

An Exorcist house would be amazing.

I'm assuming Nightingales is popular because of its original concept and venue. Plus War of the Living Dead was an excellent scarezone.

What problems do the 3D houses pose with drunks? I apologize if thats an obvious answer, I've never been in a 3D house and I'm not sure I even understand what it will be like (mostly black and neon I'm guessing). I am working in this house this year and I'm a little nervous it won't be scary :( I will try to make it so to the best of my ability.

idk, lol. Back in 2007, when i went in Jacks house(3D) i was behind a group of drunks or whatever, and they kept poking and punching the 3D Pictures and stuff. and going all close to the scareactors assuming they were supposed to be 3D as well. idk, they tend to ruin an experience for you .-.

Especially if it was your most expected house that year >.>

I can't seem to find that anywhere now... I seem to remember seeing Nosferatu-looking creatures with nasty big ppppointy teeth - was that Them?

Oh, and another thing I'm totally missing out on here: aren't all houses in 3d? ;)

Well since everyone is doing it... and I concur that it is really hard to rank these this year. Almost everything sounds amazing!

1. Winter's Night: The Haunting of Hawthorn Cemetery- love the concept, love the artwork so far, and I love the idea of wandering a desolate, lonely cemetery. It seems ripe for amazing mood, atmosphere, and environments. I can't wait to see what the ghosts look like (please look better than LT last year)!

2. The Forsaken- Unique concept, great environment, awesome pics so far. Looks very awesome indeed.

3. H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: Holidays of Horror- I am not a fan of the humor houses. They're never scary (which is, you know, the point of HHN). However, I love holidays so much and I think that this is such a fun premise, that I'm stoked.

4. Nevermore: The Madness of Poe- I wish I was better versed in Poe, but this is looking goooooooood.

5. Nightingales: Blood Prey- I was not a fan of War of the Dead so this initially did nothing for me. But the look of the banshees has gotten excited for something original and terrifying.

6. The Thing- Sadly, I missed Assimilation in 07 :-( And I love the Carpenter film, so I'm excited to see it come to life (even though it is based on the prequel). Hoping they've improved it even more since the last time.

7. The In Between- I have never liked 3D houses so I'm very skeptical. I'm hoping this isn't going to be another Disorientorium... with glasses. But it sounds like they're pursuing a more demonic feel which is promising.

8. Saws N Steam: Into the Machine- I love the idea of turning a SZ into a house... but Saw N Steam? It was fine, I guess, but I never felt the need to see it return in any capacity. This should be fun enough but it doesn't really excite me.

Oh, and I'm not disappointed at all by the lack of casino :)

REALLY hard to rank these this year. I look forward to everything other than the In-Between.

1 - Forsaken. I never got to see the other ship-based houses at HHN (other than the one-room tribute last year). I've long dreamed of walking through Ship of Screams.

2 - Nightingales is also really high on my list because of the time period. As long as it's not just another "haunted hospital", I think it will be great.

3 - Saws & Steam, because the steampunk in Frankenstein was so well done, and the S&S scarezone was great.

4 - Holidays of Horror. I loved what HHN did with comedic houses the past two years.

5 - Nevermore

6 - Winter's Night. I have a feeling this may be the sleeper of the year.

7 - The Thing. Assimilation was just ok.

99 - The In-Between. I can't stand 3D houses and this one looks to be a funhouse on top of that (i.e. Cold Blind Terror, in 3D)

Winter's Night = cold...very cold...Cast's ages range from 20's-60's yrs. old.

Saws and Steam LOUD, hot, and effects heavy.

HR. Blood and Guts = There is a queue video. Some of the wardrobe for this house is downright disturbing/twisted childhood like images *think Easter bunny from BnT's Bogus Journey*

well, knowing what HHN and Universal can do- here is my list:

1. Nevermore, The Madness of Poe: I have been a Fan of Poe for many years, and Did " The Tell-Tale heart" as part of a Halloween Talent show back in High School and cannot WAIT to see how they bring it to life!

2.Winter's Night: The Haunting of Hawthorn Cemetery: I love the Haunted cemetery Idea, and the fact that they are incorporating freezing temperatures and snow-type Effects can only Mean this will be a completely Chilling experience... Wait... Puns?.. RUN AWAY!

3. The In-Between: Woo for 3D demons from another Dimension! I hope this has a sort of " Legendary Truth" vibe to it, I liked that house and with the backstory given to it, this House has the potential for some awesome effects as well.

4.Holidays of Horror: Why? because I Like Horror Comedy and after hearing about the " Feaster Bunny" ( I think thats what they called it) I'm Pumped

Now.. you may notice only four houses made my list, you win the gold medal. The remaining houses simply dont intrigue me enough to write why im excited about them, so I'll write why I'm Iffy as to whether or not I'll enjoy them

Nightengales: Its a story of Demons Feeding on soldiers( and you) in WWI trenches, I'm just not feeling the whole supernatural vibe when its brought into war- it's gruesome enough without fictional monsters- IMHO it has the ability to come off as an AMAZING original Idea, or an insulting let down.

The Thing: " if it Aint broke, Dont fix it" There really is no need for another "The Thing" and having the house out before the movie seems like a shameless grasp for a bit of P.R.- WIll i go through the house, Probably- Will I see the movie? nope!

Saws N Steam: Loved it as a Scare zone, not sure it will be as much of a Hit as a House. Part of the scare of the Saws was hearing them coming, getting louder and louder until they were right behind you. In a House you'll get a quick " VROOM!!" and thats it. I think people will miss the Hardcore scare these guys brought to the streets.

The Foresaken: It.. just... hasnt got anything interesting to it! Rod serling would look at the story and say " I dunno boys, that seems a little out there, even for us in..... The twilight zone"

1.Nightingales:Blood Prey-From Tank You/Incoming! game to the story of Edmond Clark i was very interested in this for particular reasons, !. is the location of the soundstage and where they can actually make into WW1 and can't wait to hear the random explosions to the screams of war into a camp filled with the sound of Nightingales noises with the last of the soldiers getting feast upon. 2. The Creature of the Nightingale makes me very anticipated as it's a new, original creatures that seem very interesting to say the least and can't wait to see their other abilities into place in this environment. 3. All the effects that can be placed onto this to fake bullet rifles to hopefully a feature of the Nightingale that we have yet to see perhaps and A&D has full range so hopefully this sign is for the better as a sign of the departure of the icon/reunion year onto a new chapter.

2.The In-Between- I was to kinda dum down with the idea of a 3D house as well but the story and the possibilities and effects are beyond limits into a realm of the unknown and A&D seem very proud of themselves and besides i have not gone through a 3D house thus yet because of timing difficulty in 07 so this seems a batch of fresh air. Also i love the idea of the comic book and the campus story seem so interesting if we do enter that world and can't wait to see the creatures within the in-between

3. Winters Night:The Haunting of Hawthorne Cemetery-I love the idea of HHN going old-school ideas of a haunting cemetery and how awesome of detail can it become with the shiver and the "snow" in the air going through the crypts and it seem so fun just picturing old fashioned fog and snow into a haunted cemetery plus they have the advantage of the Soundstage to make this into a great one.

4.The Thing-I deeply in love with the Carpenter version and can't wait to see the new movie plus i just love seeing the new transformation of the thing before anyone else and i also do enjoy most movie houses from the past plus with the help of the old effects from couple years ago and the help of the crew from the new movie can make this a solid house.

5. Nevermore:The Madness of Poe-I wasn't so into the whole making Poe stores and poems into a house but it would be interesting picking out the scenes and how the look of the house be played out as the few images/video seem pretty great on my behalf.

6.The Forsaken- This is down here because well i have no more room lol. This house seem pretty cool if it was i hope to picture it with swashbuckling spaniards from a watery grave takeover a spanish fort i may be in for a treat and hopefully higher on my list.

7. Saws&Steam Into the Machine-I thought last year it was tied for best scarezone with HHNXX but i can't see this into a house very much because it was chainsaw-based and fog based which both work very well in a scarezone but i thought thats why it was so perfect the knowledge of not knowing with all the fog and the sounds of chainsaw filed the air but as most know we can't put real chainsaws (without the chain) into a house because of the emitting gas so im scared it will lose the two things it had going for it... old-fashined chainsaw scares (as it will be dedicated to sound effect speakers) and the knowledge of the unknown as you could not see who lurks but Jaws is so compact and you would hear/see what is coming next.

8. H.R. Bloodenguts: Holidays of Horror-Why is this here if i did enjoy Psychoscraphy: Home for the Holidays, Leave it to Cleaver, and Zombiegedon? Easy it doesn't seem that original, the story is deeply lacking as of now with very little detail to a comedy house as they had before they give you the feel of the house without giving as much away and can't wait for the cruel dark humor to unravel throughout the course of this house but i feel like im going to see is the same pulled jokes i have seen before as even horror movies do make fun of most holidays already and H.R or Larry seem to bland out to me unlike Sam Meetz or the guys from Z.A.P seem so hilarious and im very sad that A&D just stamp this as "Another Dark Humor House" (because how little they describe it in the tweetup compared to the rest)

Even though i did say some bad things for the last two houses im still pumped as ever this year with the great theme and selection of houses and i can't wait to journey into these words many of times.

Only 2 days! (for EP)

im going to post my most anticipated then after next thurs(when i go) ill most my actual list. i will only be atending once sadly, but im really trying to hit all houses twice.

1.Nightingales:This house sounds the scariest and looks great, most likely if its popular it will become a house series with the nightingales in different natural disasters.

2.Winter's Night: From the costumes/pictures and the video from the tweetup, this looks like LT done right. i actually dont know why they woulldn't do LT for this house. Supossedly its freezing so that'll be an excellent touch to the atmosphere.

3. In-Between: I've heard a lot of great things about this house, so its climed my list to #3.

4. Nevermore:The first pic they put out was so outstanding that i didnt need anymore reason to believe that this house will be suberb set-wise. then i heard that the rest of the rooms were good, but not as good. i then saw the costume and video, andit still looks to have incredible potential to be great.

5. Forsaken: Descriptions of this house plus the 2 pics make me very excited for this one. i like the story line.

6. H.R. Bloodengutz: This house looks really fun. i love the room names(Feasterbunny/Ho,Ho,Homicide/Thankskilling) and it sounds like it will be a very dark humored house.

7. THING: i hated the first one.with a passion. but this is directly based off the movie and has quality sets, so im sure this will be a great one.

8.Jaws N' Steam: Not that im not excited for this house, but this sounds the least intriguing. and aparrently its very loud, which will be good.
