JDW
God's Own County is Yorkshire. All those other places in New Zealand and Tennessee are God's Own Country. The Devil, as they say, is in the details... and apparently I didn't even notice what I posted. You are right Doc, as always, and I do believe that squarely settles it. Lizz
So, I'm thinking we over thought the first clue and the people who suggested it meant The Thing were right. Clue 1 - The Thing and I'm going to speculate that it is in SS23A. Clue 2 - Saws & Steam in Jaws. As a side note, I can't remember where a read the rumor, but there was a rumor that we would see a SZ from last year turned into a house. I have to agree with you there. After receiving the second clue, I think these are the hints to the houses. I also agree about the SS23A location. It's the only one that fits so far. I am resistant to giving in to the idea of S&S, but I think that's just because I want to see NEW ideas... and so far, we have two houses based on previous ideas. I'm sure S&S in a house will be impressive, but I am less than thrilled about the Thing.

I've been trying to rack my brain for ANYTHING else these two clues could mean. At first I thought we're just basing the clues on stuff we've seen before because they fit. It's easier to make something fit the clue when you know everything about it than understand the clue when it's about something you know nothing about. (if that sentence makes any sense). But..... The more I think about it, S&S and The Thing make a lot of sense. As Lizz said, I'd like to see completely new franchise ideas. And I was never a huge fan of the first Thing house, either... I guess technically SnS is a new franchise... but it wasn't the franchise I was expecting or excited to potentially return. The Thing will be better in a SS, but that's about all I can give it. It goes against the "new"concepts and the "no movie houses" mantra they were drilling into us last year. Give us reason not to assume Give us reason not to assume, even though I could see how they would want to lead us off the right path with the role names.. There are certainly alternate ideas for this house which are less obvious than Casino. We have nothing more to go on than the code names for this house at the moment, but I'm convinced the Casino is in another location.
JDW
Many of the code names are that... code names. I think a lot of the things people are 100% sure of will be 100% wrong.
e z_e
Yeah I wasn't denying the fact that there was other options, was just saying that if there are other places that the casino could be then let's discuss it. I know that role names are most of the time code, thanks JW. Not trying to be a pest just wanna hear ideas if people have them

Just stating that a lot of what has been presumed as fact is indeed wrong. It happens every year. Just an observation in general not a stab at anyone. As this is a topic for specific speculation in regards to the clues from our mutual friend, lets keep discussion centered around our two clues. Carry on. I'm sure S&S in a house will be impressive, but I am less than thrilled about the Thing. To me, S&S is fair game. Anything that was new last year was not part of the past, but the beginnings of the new era. As for The Thing, I think it's highly likely that A&D may have had little choice in using it. It is more than free advertising, it is advertising that produces a revenue. The powers that be could hardly be faulted for doing such a thing. This, for me, answers why we could be seeing a backtracking on the no movies. And to play with semantics a little....Technically, since this is a reboot/remake/prequel, whatever they want to call it, this incarnation of The Thing is a new era of darkness. It is a new era for the movie franchise. It is a new plot with new characters. So it's new! As for the specs on the tent, I shall be posting that in the spec thread. Lizz
If I were to choose a house location based on temperature, I would have to go by previous house locations. We have only had one house that specifically used snow with in it, that would be PS:HFTH. It was located in SS23. Also, theming (lighting, scenery, effects such as wind that can be felt and heard) can all trick the mind into believing temperatures are colder than they are. To me, S&S is fair game. I wasn't saying S&S wasn't fair game, just expressing that I'm not particularly excited that so far our two clues to the HHN 21 houses have been sequels (or prequel). I agree that any of the new franchises from last year's event are free game. S&S just wasn't the one I'd hoped to see continue. I would have been fine to have all new ideas again this year, and then to start making sequels next year.
Sliver123
OK just doing some research... Eoin Colfer - wrote some fantasy books. Charles came up with "The Arctic Incident". The Thing has been widely speculated this year and could be a clue to that... Peter Falk was in a lot of movies. He was in a casino movie (Machine Gun McCain)... but he's been in detective shows. Dr. Jimmy noted Wings of Desire. Steve Jobs.. The only thing I can think of would be apple. As in a literary reference to apples... like snow white or something. Apple, the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden = Paradise?

Unless they are trying to do a "best for last" thing, I'm not really feeling excited about the sequels and reboots this early in the game... Lizz
Fits with the props that have been seen at Disaster, although what the heck it has to do with Easter and Christmas is beyond me. Definitely think it's the humor house.

Dr. Jimmy
LT props in Disaster including cables, sets and production equipment plus this clue points to a television host. The Late Great Maila Nurmi aka Vampira. Joe Flaherty as Count Floyd from SCTV Interesting to note, one is an actual horror host, the other is a comedy parody of one, but both are vampires. A Horror Host playing a vampire character that actually is a real vampire??? Also, again I wonder why our friend is giving clues in rhymed couplets. Could this be a clue in and of itself??? Mae
Horror movie hosts... Vampires.... The first thing that came to my mind was Fright Night, but I doubt we're getting Peter Vincent. (More's the pity- I'd take either incarnation!!) How about a Wayne's World type, local access horror show? Mae
JONNYFXM
Deter them from what?! What's they're goal that they COUNT on Floyd and Nurni to keep them focused on? Hosting? XD The midnight hour is usually when a) a creature in human form takes they're original form or a nightwalker arises from sleep. And though it wasn't capitalized, I remember The Midnight Hour being a cheesy horror show from the 80s I believe.
