  1. Wow, there were already rehearsals here? Since the moving walls are integral to the zone, I'd hazard that what you see is what you get, people. This isn't really a maze. I knew I got too much of a Cold Blind Terror vibe from this...
  2. So, is construction completed for this zone? It... isn't looking good folks. Maybe five total move-able walls. Some "maze..." Knew it wasn't a good idea to get too excited about this... but who knows, they may still surprise us...
  3. Oh my goodness, it's the convenience store! They weren't kidding when they said fans would dig it!
  4. I would only want it to happen if it DIDN'T take the place of an existing house (meaning there would be 9 total houses each year). In addition, the extreme house could not push one of the more elaborate regular mazes (parade building or sound stages) into a lesser venue to make room for the up charge house. Then, the up charge house must have a reasonable price. No more than $30 for one group - $40 is ridiculous and I wouldn't pay it, even if it was split among 4 friends or whatever on principle. Like the first year of Alone, a reward for completing it "alone" would be a necessity - even if it's just a photo print, a shirt, or a pin. To add icing to the cake, they could bundle it with Frequent Fear Pass. Pay a little extra with your FFP and get a visit to the up charge house. Pay a little more extra, get a visit to the up charge house each night you go (if you reserve a date in advance.) Or something like that.
  5. I'll echo the spec that the facade is likely to be the tank concept sketch - and what an epic facade that will be. I'm sure there will be some transition trenches in addition to the hospitals, though.
  6. Eh, Light Sea-FOAM Green Cyan with a tinge of aqua.
  7. Forgot to mention these in my wish list - a nice, super-nice coffee table book with lots of concept art, blueprints, and high-res photography, and/or a new documentary. I hate having to show the 2002 doc to the uninformed - it makes the event look a little lame at this point (I feel Screamhouse is really the only house that holds up to today's standards.)
  8. Not quite - Saws'n'Steam (RED) and Winter's Night (CYAN) - Poe is "blue" and hasn't gotten its game yet. There are of course back story tables accompanying each house. Winter's Night's newspaper article may hold the answer to what "The House" actually is... and that "spinster" sounds awfully suspicious. Hasn't Universal PR stated several times now that Lady Luck craves giving you a choice?
  9. Ditto. I have a lot of respect for the military, but I really think we've made this into a huge production when it's only an issue for a select few. You know what this house is about. You know there may be some ambiant gun or mortar fire. If you aren't 100% you can't handle it, don't do it. Scare actor injury is a necessary evil of this event - it's going to happen in all of the houses this year, war related or not. Can we please use this thread for actual discussion about the house, especially since we have a LOT of new info from the site that hasn't even been mentioned, and if anything have a dedicated thread for the PTSD talk?
  10. I wondered if the Roulette Wheel room would be able to be visited - I bet it would fit in some of the remaining Naazarman facades. Hopefully it isn't just a glorified photo op.
  11. Could someone who has seen the Coke Zero version of the commercial explain how it is incorporated into the commercial...?
  12. I made a mistake in my original post - I meant POLO instead of Hoodie. A year-specific hoodie should have tons of event-specific graphics on there.
  13. Eh, I guess. Depends on how you categorize "victim" I suppose. There was the one infected archeologist (though he already seemed to have "turned," for me placing him in the same category as the zombies) and then the "hanging man" animatronic, which isn't an actor at all. Bottom line is we'll be getting show scene-actors of some type this year, at least in this house. And that makes me excited after some of the cool stuff that was pulled off in 08 and 09 with victims. Back on topic, though - everyone seems to be insisting that very little theming is inserted into Sting Alley for the zones besides the wayward fog machine. I have to say - were we looking at different zones last year? Saws'n'Steam had a huge excess of cables & pipes & wiring forming a roof above the zone; there was blood and steampunk devices everywhere; and that massive oven/stage/apparatus! I expect nothing less in extravagance for our "icon zone."
  14. Merchandise Wish List: -Typical shirt, pin, shot glass lineup -HHN-themed deck of cards -HHN black hoodie (no fancy graphics other than maybe the logo in the corner) -Hat/ball cap (haven't they done this in the past?) -SCARE ZONE shirt - all of the art for the scare zones exist. Literally make it a variant of the house design with a different tag line on the front -if we're really getting crazy, an event poster? maybe make it lenticular, so from one angle you see beautiful Luck and another you see demon Luck
  15. Perhaps I should've clarified - no victims in the houses themselves (with the one exception of Spine Girl). The idea last year was apparently that "you are the victim," a plot device I don't particularly care for. Victims being murdered in the little show scenes are part of what makes HHN better than other haunts - plus, it adds a degree of terror to the houses once you establish just how dangerous the creatures that inhabit them are. By the way, I wouldn't really count infected zombies to be "victims."
  16. There was chainsaws regularly assigned to 20 Years of Fear (Hollywood zone) that had nothing to do with the roaming zone - they represented the Chainsaw Drill Teams of the past, hence their presence. The roaming squad typically started near Lucy in the park's first few hours of operation and would then move to New York Streets (Acid Assault location) later in the night.
  17. Apparently you can no longer play the old games for Nightingale (Tank You), Bloodngutz (Channel Surfing), or Forsaken (Loose Cannon). For those of you who hadn't already beaten the games and had half your chip - it seems you're out of luck. Even if you win the new game multiple times, you will not be able to complete your chip and view the clue table.
  18. It seems Larry Kutzenburg - I mean, H.R. Bloodngutz suffered some declining ratings and a cancellation of his program, leading to a crazed murder of the station's manager... will we meet the same fate?
  19. I now speculate that we will be getting a backstory on Lady Luck upon completing our poker chips, since all of the houses will be getting backstory "tables" like in 2006.
  20. Yes, yes, we get it - you don't like icons. You're hellbent on establishing Lady Luck isn't an icon, even though she is. These games are more fun - they still require a big helping of luck, but the competition factor is encouraging because it means SOMEONE has to win. I beat all 3 games - all 3 "tables" remind me of the 06 site as well. So cool! WARNING: The Nightingale page contains a screamer for the faint of heart. Turn off your volume to avoid the brunt of it.
  21. I do have an Annual Pass - I'll be driving down in the afternoon so I won't make it to the AP Party Friday, but I will be there for the AP Party Saturday (the 24th) with my girlfriend. I'd be more than happy to meet up with you guys if you're around.
  22. Anything that looks remotely new, maybe some new angles on the covered areas if you can manage it. Remember, the zones we've seen construction for are New York, KidZone, World Expo (near Animal Actors & the flags), and Shrek Alley. If you see any construction going on by Lucy, in Sting Alley, Hollywood, or Mel's, def take pictures - but there may be some new things in the aforementioned areas as well. Thanks for going out!

  24. I am very worried about this. While the HAVOC & Hallow'd Past chainsaw scares were solid last year, they can't compare to a real chainsaw. There's gonna have to be quite a sound system for e-prompts to have the same effect - and even then it just won't feel as real. I'm sure the house will still be good, though... My bet is the chainsaws will be in the streets by week 2 or 3.
  25. You know, this confirms something very significant for this year - the return (in some capacity) of VICTIMS, an element that was sorely missing from last year IMO. Great tip, thanks. More food for thought about this zone - what else will be included? We know the cast will be largely female (former Coven cast), but what form will they take on? Will there only be only one Luck, or many? If not Luck, what?
