  1. Are you saying they're gonna reboot movies like The Lost Boys? I don't entirely understand lol.
  2. I'm leaning toward The Conjuring being lost, so I wouldn't throw Scream out just yet. But I will say, don't expect Scream to show up. It's not impossible. Just unlikely.
  3. I'd love to see it, but idk how they'd pull off the "can't make noise" concept. A house can't be silent.
  4. It was either Scream or The Conjuring. Haven't gotten clarification yet, but Universal has been after both these IPs for years.
  5. Great minds think alike lmao. The overall Halloween theme, Michael Myers returning, Universal Monsters, and Pumpkin Lord somehow being involved were some of my earliest predictions Universal has already lost a white whale IP for 2023, unfortunately. There's another IP that might have been dropped in Hollywood but not in Orlando. Everything's a little muddy right now, so it's hard to tell what's truly going on.
  6. This years were pretty tough for the most part. Weeknd and Bugs were the easy ones.
  7. See, that makes me want an Addams Family house lmao. I think the 90s movie would be better as a house.
  8. I wouldn't expect any Netflix IPs for a while. Netflix wants the most money it can get when distributing its IPs to outside companies. Netflix is very hard to work with when it comes to merch because they want a majority of the profit. Stranger Things has been getting its own experiences since 2020. They're getting better and more popular every year. Netflix literally doesn't need HHN when they can create their own experiences and make more money in the process. Stranger Things is probably off the table until it simmers down in popularity after the release of Season 5. Fear Street was one of the IPs Universal went after for 2022, but the reason it was dropped is kind of unknown. My guess is that the popularity of the series had dropped so much that Universal didn't see the point in bringing it to the event. So Fear Street is probably off the table unless Netflix releases a new film or even a new trilogy. Wednesday is probably one of the only obtainable Netflix IPs that is gaining in popularity by the day. Yes, it is technically a Netflix IP, but I'm pretty sure Universal would have to negotiate the rights with MGM as they own the Addams Family and are a distributor of the Wednesday series. But I would imagine Netflix would try to step in and cause Universal to drop the IP.
  9. Netflix isn't really in the picture when trying to negotiate rights for Wednesday. MGM owns the Addams Family and the new Wednesday series.
  10. Silence of the Lambs was planned for 30 in 2020 but was dropped due to the rights becoming messy. I feel like that could've been due to the rightsholder wanting very specific things that Universal refused to do. Lambs almost showed up again in 2021 to replace Eilish, but I'm assuming a similar situation happened in 2020. For 2022, it seems like they didn't even go after it at all. 2023 could be a different situation, but we just don't know yet. I've also been notified about Hollywood getting an exclusive house, but the clarification as to if it's an IP or OG is being held as a secret.
  11. Well, I was kind of right about some of the tents staying up lol. The two Curious George tents are still standing. Scarecrow has been completely demoed and Halloween is almost gone. The Legends Collide and KKFOS tents are no loner up, but where LC stood looks likes it's getting prepared for construction.
  12. So Murdy replied to someone on Twitter saying that if they're able to keep the current line-up it's going to be a stellar year. That makes me excited, but I think I need to realize that 1 or 2 IPs will be Hollywood exclusives. But maybe Orlando will get an exclusive or two as well.
  13. I see them adding spooky music and lighting within the land. Nintendo, especially with Super Mario Bros., is known to do stuff with Halloween. I also can't even imagine the traffic between SNW, Transformers, and the Soundstage 29 house entrance.
  14. I still think the IP line-up will be VERY similar to this: Chucky The Weeknd: Dawn FM The Last of Us Insidious Cult Classic IP Universal Monsters: Silent Abominations
  15. I remember seeing that they were building new Soundstages way off toward the edge of the property. Like, pretty dang far from the Lower Lot. They could knock down the super old Soundstages directly next to SNW, but those have so much history behind them. JPLand21 suggested a while back that Universal should purchase the Golf Course next to the Lower Lot for either a brand-new park or for the current park's expansion. Concept art for a hotel did come out not too long ago, so that could mean Universal is wanting to turn Hollywood into an actual resort one day. Also, I'm fairly certain that the KKFOS, Scarecrow, and Legends Collide tents will remain up. Construction for this year started way back in February, so I see it beginning in 2023 somewhere around that time. Possibly March.
  16. I'm curious to see how many houses Hollywood gets next year. 10 houses just don't seem feasible for them, so I think 7 or 8 is like the sweet spot for the West Coast.
  17. Will we be able to change our profile pics and wallpapers in 2023? What about the number of our posts? Will that still increase? Also, will a spec thread for HHN 33 be added when the time comes or will the 32 spec thread be the last one?
  18. I don't fear HHN ever going family-friendly. Yes, I do want the event to be mostly edgy/R-rated/teenage and adult-oriented/gory. I want the event to have all of that. But with all the horror and goriness, I want something that's light-hearted and different. Something that is almost like a break from the horror. That's where Ghostbusters, Killer Klowns, Beetlejuice, Scooby-Doo, Casper, Munsters, Addams Family, and Gremlins come into play. Yeah, I get Grinch will NEVER happen. I really don't appreciate some people telling me why it's never gonna happen. Like, I'm very aware as to why it won't happen lol and I know I'll never get the Grinch. Gremlins has been talked about for years. Eventually, it'll happen. I know the people at IU are not gonna believe me, but Universal did try to get Scooby-Doo for this year. Murdy has already stated multiple times that he'd love to do a Scooby-Doo house.
  19. So there's something floating around about the next Universal Monsters house taking place in Paris. That makes me think about Phantom and Hunchback.... I'm calling it now: Phantom vs Hunchback
  20. Dead Exposure was planned for 2020 and, as you mentioned, the pandemic happened. I'm sure that house is sitting up on Murdy's shelf, but he probably won't revisit it for quite some time.
  21. I still can't believe they did lmfao. Literally came out of nowhere.
  22. I feel like 2023 is gonna have a similar line-up to last year, so it could be something like this: Shared IP Shared IP Shared IP Shared IP Shared Universal Monsters IP Exclusive IP Orlando Original Transfer New Original
  23. Yeti is another Orlando Original Murdy might be interested in as well.
  24. Body Collectors: Recollections, Dead Man's Pier and Carnival Graveyard are quite literally the best Soundstage houses I've walked through. Maybe even the best Soundstage houses ever. They were literally on a different scale and I would classify them as the "perfect HHN house". I don't think I've ever been as immersed in a haunted experience as I have with those three.
