Has anyone else received an email today with the header of the email saying "Your time has come"?
I don't know how to post photos or I would include a screenshot of the email.
Yup. Got a "we have your soul" e-mail about an hour ago. Maybe they'll start the festivities tomorrow.

hinted that the rumored Gothicombs house might be a red herring and there might be another house instead
One thing I keep forgetting to bring up.
I follow one of the main HHN fabricators on Instagram, and they posted a wall full of skulls and bones that looked exactly like the background of the HHN website last week.
He's claiming that it's not for HHN, just practicing in his studio.
It seems a bit too similar to be a coincidence.
So....what if the original Gothicomes was intended to be the icon house, but has since been changed to the Field of Screams house? Maybe they were left with some props/scenery that will no longer be used, so they can post pictures of it?

Any lawyers on here who know a thing or two about IP law? Lol.
Think in the UK literary works copywrite is death plus 70 years. If that's the same in the US we may not see anything soon....
I am no expert by far, but I took some legal classes in collage.
It really all depends on the actual contract signed but, typically when rights are signed over to a media company (for movie, TV, etc), that company reserves the rights to any further merchandising, advertising, etc. That gives them the freedom to treat the property as they see fit, rather than argue back and forth with the creator(s).
That's why you see some notoriously difficult to work with creators completely drop support for media projects, but they continue on without their full consent. Think Alan Moore and The Watchmen movie, or V for Vendetta.
This would be especially true earlier on in their careers. King obviously has the cache to demand much tougher restrictions now, but when Carrie or The Shining were originally made, he was much younger and not in the position to make such demands.

I signed up for it a couple days ago, and still haven't gotten the email from them.
To clarify the "You've been Summoned" e-mails...
I believe these were all sent out to people that had already signed up to receive marketing e-mails from HHN and/or Universal Orl.
They were sent out after the website had been updated, that's why there's the appearance of a response to sacrificing your souls for those of us that signed up quickly.
For example: My wife received one around 2:30 that day, but she didn't sign up on the website until about 5:30 when she got home from work.

August 3rd to be precise. I'm guessing that's the full reveal, and some/all of the boxes that are currently locked will be the IP announcements.

I'll go on record to say that Blumhouse always seemed a bit off to me. Especially in Orlando. Hope I'm wrong though, that one really has some potential to be great

Especially with the Fact that with our Insidious Maze in 2015 we had a Scare Actor who was bald and played the character who said "He's got your baby!". Seeing as though Insidious will be apart of your guy's Blumhouse Mashup.
That wasn't quite the part that I had in mind.

Bald eh? I wonder what that could mean?
Not sure if this was said with a wink or not, but I'm thinking that physical characteristic would fit really well with Blumhouse.

Just a few that I can recall off the top of my head:
Monsters & Mayhem (HHN25): Baking cookies in the Grandma's Cottage room
Monsters & Mayhem (HHN25): Dirt/earth in the opening room
Hell Comes to Haddenfield (HHN26): Burning flesh in the "toasty Michael" room
Exorcist (HHN26): "Vomit" in the bed sheets (actually smelled like really strong ham?)
Krampus (HHN26): Candles in Krampus' lair
There are a bunch every year. Some are more noticeable than others, and some just lend more of an atmosphere.

I keep hearing stuff about people that went the Sunday after the hurricane and couldn't even do anything it was so crowded. I went that night and was able to do all the houses once without express and see Academy of Villains. I've never bought express out of the three years I've gone and I've never had a problem. You just have to go in with a plan.
I was there the same night. It was a little busier than the average Sunday, but we did 4 of the 9 houses and B&T, plus Scarezones. AND we left at 11:00

I love hearing about everyone's HHN traditions! Since news is scarce now, I'll ask another question to prompt discussion: Who here splurges on Express passes? I know my fiance and I do, but I have friends who avidly love HHN yet still don't buy it. I think for something I go to at least 20 times, it just makes sense. Thoughts?
I know I'm in the minority, but we actually don't.
My wife and I always go for the Frequent Fear Pass, and plan to attend three nights out of the week that we're there (Sun, Wed,Thu). We get there early, and hit as many houses as possible before the lines get too crazy (usually 4-5). Then, we see one of the shows, ride some rides, drink some Fishy Green Ale, etc. Once the crowds start to dim down a bit, we hit one or two more houses, and call it a night.
Between all three nights, it has never been a problem to see what we'd like to see, not feel rushed, and usually end up with extra time and check out early one or two nights.
That also affords us the ability to use the money NOT spent on express to do the Unmasking the Horror tour and buy some merch.

I still see red every time I think about that fiasco. A show that had been an HHN tradition for years was pulled from the event because one concerned parent got his feelings boobooed. I understand that certain subjects can be offensive to people but they warn you before each and every show to expect those kinds of jokes and to leave if you don't like it! Its one of my greatest fears that the Orlando B&T might get pulled because some SJW claims the show gave them PTSD.
I don't understand whatever happened to people just being cool. Remember when "I didn't like that. This isn't for me." used to be a perfectly reasonable answer for most folks?

Their Marketing department sucks, period. Shout at me all you want but they're an absolute atrocious disaster. Far too much control over something they shouldn't even touch.
As a marketing person. I have to agree whole heatedly.
They take an event with a rabid fanbase that they could run relatively cheap (or free) programs with, but instead decide to post "cryptic" responses or self indulgent pictures on Twitter.
Social media is a very importantly tool right now, and they kind of just shrug it off.

Has anyone tried to see if there are any clickable features.
And since I don't have an actual computer: Can someone post what the regular site looks like?
I only have access to the mobile version.
I looked through the code, and I didn't see any mentions of anything interesting. Although, I'm not much of an expert in that realm.

They generally won't do an Unmasking the Horror tour through a house that is mostly confined spaces. They need to fit 15 or so people wherever they stop to explain and Tomb of the Ancients would have been a really tight fit for the most part. The year before, Insidious was the tight fit house that they skipped.
Yup. This exactly..
We we got lucky and had a really small group. Worked out really well because we got crockolion selfies!

Which houses do you think they're gonna give the Behind the Scenes tours in? My bets are The Shining, AHS, Catacombs/Gothic; and then maybe Blumhouse, Bayou of Blood, and Scarecrow
They usually let the guides pick which houses they do after they get a read on the group, but they tend to stick to six certain ones.
If I had to guess (assuming our guesses for houses and locations are close), I would say AHS, Shining, Bayou, Catacombs, Ash, and either Blumhouse or Saw will be the most common ones seen.
I will say, if Catacombs (or whatever it ends up being called) is similar to Tomb of the Ancients conceptually; then that one can be struck off the list 99% of the time.

They didn't mention the picture policy, so I'm going with the info from the website where we can photograph select houses. However they did make a special note about refunds and that you can get a full refund up until 3 days before the tour.
That's what the policy was last year as well. Basically the "select houses" were the originals.
Hopefully they'll open it up a little more this year, but I severely doubt it.

I can't see them not announcing something this week coming up and we still have 7 houses and 5 scarezones to be revealed.
Well...all the originals, scarezones, and shows will probably be dumped all at once in August per usual.
So, that leaves three (possibly four) IP houses and whatever Icon-ie type stuff they have planned.
-
Definitely not Sunday. I don't think they've ever done a weekend announcement.

Any reasoning for Thursday specifically, since I do agree with next week.
They tend to do later in the week announcements (more Thursdays specifically), but could leak into Wed or Fri. Just trend analysis and hedging my bets.

I know, I know, "soon"........
I'll put a few bucks down on next Thursday.

Would it help easy your minds and hearts if the full house title had a subtitle to it? Something like "Ash vs Evil Dead: Dead by Dawn" or something like that.
Then the marketing copy could be something like..."Join Ash as he revisits the events that kicked off his life of fighting evil that we've seen in the hit TV show...blah blah blah..."
-
They're also starting to run out of "original IP" properties (for lack of a better term). We've already seen most of the classics at least once, and new "classics" aren't being made every year.
I wouldn't be surprised if they original/IP balance started to even out a bit in future events.

If the icon does end up being grim reaper since those song lyrics make it pretty obvious unless they are steering us in the wrong direction, anyone think they will incorporate him into one of the houses?
Some might say that he/she is represented in every house.

HHN 27 Speculation
in Halloween Horror Nights 27
Posted
This is my feeling. I think the "Gothicombs" moniker is just something we should be using as a placeholder name.
I believe the end result will be similar to Tomb of the Ancients from last year. Where the overall thought process and design was inspired by an older house, but the final theme is it's own brand new thing.
