  1. Don't go booking because of that. Honestly I don't know if it's even anything. It could be something, it could be nothing. I'm just putting the info that I found out there.
  2. So on the whole P&T appearing in their house sometimes......................They have cancelled all of their shows starting on October 13th until October 20th. After that they have a show scheduled on the 26th in Connecticut. After that they appear to be off until November 3rd. You can see this info for yourself at the following links. http://www.ticketmaster.com/search? tm_link=tm_homeA_header_search&user_input=penn+and+teller&q=penn+and+teller&search.x=0&search.y=0#nfb_skip_left_content And http://www.riolasvegas.com/casinos/rio/casino-entertainment/penn--teller-detail.html
  3. I watched the movie for the first time on Friday. I must say as the movie did kind of suck the set pieces and characters will make a great house. I'm very pumped for this house now and can't wait to see how they pull some of the stuff off. I'm gonna try to play or watch silent hill 3 in the next few days so I can get the gist of that one. I'm much more excited for this house now than I was a few weeks ago.
  4. I think it may not be an IP announcement today. Maybe one of the original houses. Of course it could just be Alice Cooper too.
  5. You missed my point too. Creative can do great things with things you wouldn't expect to be good or have anything to do with horror. I was the same way as you regarding P&T but have since done my research and feel like coming from the mind of Penn Gillette it COULD be a great house. It could also suck and you'd be right but I at least have to go through it once before I start saying it sucks.
  6. You're still reaching. Nowhere in my post did I say anything about Bill and Ted being a haunted house.
  7. Karras, no offense but you seem to be the one reaching. He laid out 3 things for you. Bill and Ted has absolutely nothing to do with Horror but yet is a staple every single year. Arbor day? Easter? Nobody ever thought of those two holidays in a horror sense before HHN. HHN has a way of taking normal things and adding a Horror twist and they do it very well. As for your question, someone like me feels the house makes more sense for everyone involved. How can you expect Penn and Teller to drop their show in Vegas and their tour to do HHN every event night? The house allows them to have a presence at the event without having to give up all the money they could make touring and in Vegas. The flip side is Universal saves a ton of money by having them do a house and not a show. Obviously a show makes more sense if your looking at it from the standpoint with no budget constraints.
  8. No, not a problem inside the park, although I do wish they could go a bit skimpier but that's the dirty old man in me. Some people will always find something to complain about no matter the subject.
  9. I always go back to this statement. If you don't like it, don't go to the event. I kinda understand censoring billboards but once your inside the gates as far as I'm concerned everything should be fair game. Oh my god lil Jimmy just saw cleavage *Gasp* just doesn't work for me. Keep lil Jimmy away from the event and you don't have to worry about him seeing it. To me the age restriction should be the same as a horror movie 17 and up unless accompanied by a parent. Then maybe we'd get the event we all really want which is uncensored and somewhat extreme.
  10. I agree, it has to do with marketing and advertising. I don't know what the real issue is but hopefully they get it taken care of soon. I do tend to believe that we haven't seen a website update due to this issue but expect one to come soon with the Silent Hill info. What if Silent Hill was a backup plan for TWD and we're just getting a generic zombie house based on TWD instead of a house promoting the show? I don't really care either way, I know if there are zombies, an RV and a barn it's supposed to be TWD. The characters don't make or break it for me but I'll be much happier and I may geek out if I see Michonne and the pets.
  11. The shhhh could also have to do with TWD. On the show walkers are attracted to noise. Silent Hill would be the obvious choice. Of course it could mean absolutely nothing too.
  12. I'm happy to hear we may get 8 houses and 7 zones but I'm skeptical until we get confirmation I'll still be skeptical. Of course it would be great if the whole Never to soon to start panicking was a dig at us on the forums like I said it was a few weeks ago.
  13. Ok thanks. I was told on a different forum that they would change things if people complained enough. I didn't think that was the case so i figured I'd throw it out there. Glad to know the truth.
  14. Is it possible that they switched locations due to Silent Hill being an IP? If the signs of FAKE being in 33 are true my thoughts are they decided to give Silent Hill the higher profile location. Maybe they decided to not do the Dead Exposure style house after reading these forums and decided to go another route which opened up SS20 for Silent Hill. Of course until we see a permit for 33 I'm concerned about that location actually being used.
  15. Agreed, there is a difference between criticizing the event and whining. I'm seeing a ton of whining. So true. I wish someone would pay for me to come down there every year. I wouldn't complain one bit. The truth is it costs me between 3 and 5 thousand dollars every year and I know for a fact other people spend more. We have a right to complain a bit if we don't like the event. If your Mommy and Daddy buy your ticket just be happy and enjoy it while it lasts.
  16. I explained how I thought 6 houses could be a good thing in my post. I'm trying to be positive, it's hard but I'm trying. I said I think 6 houses could be positive because more money can be spent elsewhere. Before that I even said minus the lines/crowds because your right they will be terrible if you don't have an express pass. As I said I'm trying to stay positive. My first year there were only 6 houses. I enjoyed it enough to continue coming back year after year so to me it isn't the worst thing ever. We're spoiled now and it will hurt to lose 2 houses but we'll have to deal with it for this year. All I can really say is if your not happy hit the exit poles or just don't go to the event.
  17. Wow, I don't check the forums for 2 days and this is what I come back to? I guess I will start from the top. One scarezone is interesting. I'm expecting the roaming sz's to focus on Walking Dead considering the zombies that move around are called roamers on the show and in the comics. It makes sense and has been right there for us to put 2 and 2 together the whole time. I feel if done correctly with a ton of scareactors it could be cool. 6 houses hurts but could really improve the event minus the lines/crowds. Needless to say express will be a valued commodity this year, oh and don't think for a second they don't know that. I fear the prices for express may be on the extreme side. I think 6 houses could be positive because more money can be spent elsewhere and it appears it won't be on scarezone sets. Hopefully it's used for hiring more scareactors for the roaming sz's and somehow making better houses. Of course it worries me that they seem to have purchased the rights to 3 different IP's. I hope we don't get the 3 IP's at the cost of overall quality of the event. I'm trying to be positive here as you can tell since I know first hand that Comcast loves to cut budgets. I had to deal with several of them in my time as an employee there. As for P&T being the focus of the event. I'm going to try to be positive, I can say we've complained about Fear and Lady Luck, the last 2 icons so they decided to go in a different direction. They decided to do an event just presented by P&T instead of giving us an icon to complain about. Of course that opens up a whole new can of worms. Different direction, same complaints. Not sure why on earth they would decide to go with P&T but it appears they did. In a way I feel that they feel like they're giving us what we wanted, it sure is different at least. It's not what we wanted obviously considering what I'm reading in everyone's complaints. We wanted a good iconic icon, someone to strike fear in our hearts. Not 2 comics who are sometimes edgy. This is coming from someone who loves their show on Showtime and enjoy their magic. The most edgy thing I have ever seen from them is the knife through the hand card trick or the bullet catch in the teeth. Yeah most of us like the comedy houses but we don't want our entire event based on comics. If they had to go with comics I'd much rather see Joe Rogan host the event. At least he'd have the help of magic mushrooms and bloody UFC fights to help him design a house. Who's next Carrot Top? Ok, ok so I'm getting away from my positive view but I think you guys and gals get what I'm trying to say. I don't like our horror event being hosted by comedians but I'm going to give it a shot anyway because I'm a sucker for HHN and spending the event with my friends. I plead with everyone if we get the event that is rumored let them know. They always have the exit polls. Don't hold back, tell them how you feel but please at least give it a chance before tearing it apart. How exactly have they been doing that? Can someone explain it to me. 2008 was a great year for sz's and so was 2010. I have not felt this way at all in fact have felt more emphasis on scarezone quality than years past. Maybe someone else can set me straight???
  18. Hmm so what your saying is your allowed to video in Orlando as long as you don't get caught? Nice one, I like the way you think. It's like saying you can take alcohol in but only if it's in a plastic bottle so it can't be detected by metal detectors and is strapped to your body somewhere that security can't see. Does anyone know if you can take video of the daytime lights on tours?
  19. Just putting my two cents into the IP vs original discussion, I must say I enjoy a mixture of both. As previously said nothing is truly original anymore though. If we we're to get 8 houses (obviously not this year but in future years) I'd like to see an absolute maximum of 4 IP houses. That leaves 4 original houses. It's a good balance for me. I like the original ideas because they're original or somewhat original at least but I like IP houses because it's the movies or tv show coming to life. Universal is a movie company so it only makes sense to do houses based on their movies. The whole ride the movies tagline sticks out for me. I like to experience what I've seen on the screen. I like to immerse myself into the movie so to speak. You can't immerse yourself when it's an original idea in the same way you can with an IP house unless your like us and come on here to find out every little detail about the house. I like to understand the story behind the house that I'm in which is obviously easier to do if you've seen the movie.
  20. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorce and scientology. As for songs I think we may hear Pitbull - Back in Time.
  21. I could have sworn that they we're having reunion auditions on July 10th and regular auditions on July 17th. That's 2 days. Maybe they expect to hire a bunch of people from the reunion auditions. I wouldn't worry much about it yet.
  22. Fair enough and I agree with you on most of your points. While I agree that Alice Cooper was a big hit in Hollywood, I don't believe that house as a whole should come to Orlando. I don't want to see the same house that was in Hollywood. I've seen video of it and I wasn't impressed. I wouldn't mind a similar house but I don't want to see a room by room recreation. One thing you may not know is Hollywood has never had much of an impact on Orlando but Orlando has had impact on Hollywood. Not saying the other way around isn't a good idea. Some people here have a problem with change. It's the unknown and we like to know what we're getting. For all I know it could end up being the best year ever because of an idea from Hollywood. One other small thing: I think it's funny how everyone seems to be panicking about the houses considering the tag line on the site right now is It's Never Too Soon To Start Panicking. The house list sure does have everyone panicking. Makes me start to wonder if we're not falling into a trap of some sort......
  23. My entire group is from out of state and we all buy FFP. We go 4 to 5 nights and it's more than worth it. No need for anyone to buy a 1 night ticket but still tons of people do.
  24. A) I felt it was a bit of an attack, if not my apologies but I still stick to everything I said. B ) Read back a bit, read other posts. The one post I've been negative is the one you quoted. It's not even that negative. It's just simple facts about comcast's history coming from someone who witnessed it first hand in their offices in Philadelphia which is their headquarters. In other posts I've expressed my disappointment but urge people to wait until they've seen the event to judge.
  25. Well it shows that you just skim through posts. I've been one of the more positive people on here about this year. I'm not one of the sky is falling people. I keep telling people you can't judge the houses by name alone. To wait until they've been to the event and through the houses to pass judgement. In the post you quoted not once did I once mention any of the attractions you've brought up? I was specifically talking about HHN. I made that very clear. In fact I said "When it comes to HHN" so your attack is not warranted. Although it did give me a good laugh because it was easy to see I was specifically talking about HHN. Allow me to tell you how I feel about the rest of the parks and their upgrades since you seem to think I'm not happy with them. They have done a great job in making changes to the parks and city walk. I could do less with HP but understand the marketing of it all. Specifically studios speaking the parade, cinematic spectacular and Despicable Me are all great projects. They bring people into the park. It makes me even more excited to come to Orlando in October. Of course that's even more reason they could cut spending on HHN. They are spending tons of money on everything else. HHN is a special ticketed event they could cut costs on for a few years. If they feel they can make cuts and profit more then they will do it. I'm not even saying the cuts would be drastic. Less spent on costumes, less spent on props and sz's. Just little things here or there. The details that you can only see with the lights on may not be quite as detailed. There may not be as many props in the sz's or as many scareactors on the streets. I do not by any means feel they will destroy HHN. Just cut costs where they can, especially with all of the other projects going on at this time. Next year may be much better, your guess is as good as mine at this point. What I can say for sure is that there have been plenty of curve balls thrown at them this year so I don't expect the quality of years past. Will that last? I don't know, I'd like to think no.
