  1. Yes, neither. Again, I can't really say much (I mean, location should be obvious at this point, since it's not in a tent or soundstage...) but there's only one aspect of this reveal I'm not sure about: whether we're getting H2 or RZs Halloween...
  2. If memory serves me, there are the two houses, the woods and the van that make up the majority of 'locations' for filming the movie. Since nothing of drastic importance happens in Franklin's family's house, I can only assume the majority of the house would be the woods and the Hewitt house. The one thing I'm looking forward to, which got me really bad when HHN brought TCM around the first time, is just stepping inside the home. The only real complaint I have about the Halloween house is it had a beautiful facade but a side entrance. You didn't actually walk through the front door of the house. When Flesh Wounds was running, you stepped directly into the front door and saw the infamous staircase and large metal sliding door. Seeing leatherface slam that thing open terrified me. I hope I'll be able to see the houses this year... p.s. Jimmy, I love your videos and your cocktails. Keep them coming, mate!
  3. With as much as I can say, I'm excited to see so little information being dropped this year (speculation wise - I'm ready for another announcement). It's always good to see little bits of information and not a complete, practically confirmed list. I think a lot of people are going to be pleasantly surprised by this year's IP choices. The Exorcist was a complete surprise for me, and I'm really happy with it. Now I might be the minority here, but I didn't enjoy AWiL as much as everyone seems to have. Yes, the puppetry was amazing, but that's about as much as I enjoyed with it. When you have something based on IPs, you obviously want them to be true to their source. (i.e. Halloween) With an IP like AHS, yes there are a lot of options as far as the locations, eras, and characters, but what is it about AHS that people like? The story. That's why Freak Show dropped ratings some because there wasn't as juicy of a storyline like there had been in the previous seasons. I'm all about having options to work with, but the IPs that I want to walk through are the ones that not only bring familiar characters and scenes, but ones that tell the story of the IP itself. I guess my whole point here is that the IPs that I know are coming will be fantastic, but similarly to some houses before (AWiL, Saw, TWD, AvP, etc.) I don't just want to see iconic scenes and characters. I want to be told a story, and I hope that comes across with the houses this year. EDIT: Just got an email announcing audition dates for Chance. (One minute monologue and improv needed) It could easily just mean Chance for her scare zone or house, but it kind of seems like a show audition (Bill and Ted auditions were in the notice as well...)
  4. We're not getting FTWD. They may do one or the other, but I could never see them doing the two in the same year. However, if the second IP that shares the top billing is the one I'm thinking of, I may see it take over TWD's ad space a little.
  5. Its on the announcements page, just not on the front page with the others. I can only assume the same. However it's been publicized everywhere that the other three announcements have except for the front page of the website.
  6. I saw that as more of a turn-of-phrase or just an expression. Last year she was a supporting character (I.e. Usually stage right or stage left of the lead) and now she's going to be leading (I.e. moving to center stage). I wouldn't mind seeing something like the icons sz (can't remember what it was called) where each icon had their own smaller stage and minions walking around. Chance could have a small stage similar to shadybrooks last year where she can have a microphone and do random interactions with the audience and her minions
  7. I was sort of thinking something like this too. I can only hope this is the case just out of sheer continuity. Why would you have a chance show, a chance house, and a chance sz? I'm all about suspension of disbelief, but there's no way she could get around like that
  8. Right, I didn't mean giving anything away or anything. Hell, I probably won't know more than anyone else. But that's what I meant. I won't be giving any other info out than what house/SZ to look for. Probably won't have anything to share regardless. Shoot, I'm not jeopardizing being a part of this year...
  9. The times are actually already posted on the website when you select the date that you want to buy tickets for. All nights are 1:00 am until Sep. 30th, where the weekends ramp up to 2 am. There aren't any midnight closing dates this year. I'm more surprised they didn't start Wednesdays any earlier this year.
  10. The first 'Run!' house was a dual-run. I remember specifically because when we went through the first passage, there were two paths and a guy standing between them. We asked which way to go. He crossed his arms and pointed in both directions. It was cool because it was chain-link fence fencing and you could see the other line going along next to you through some of it.
  11. I know this probably isn't the place for this, but I'm sitting in HR at Uni right now and I've gotta share with my Nightmares brothers and sisters. This would be twenty years of Halloween Horror Nights for me. I can't think of any better way to do my twentieth year than to be a scareactor. And I got hired! Once they tell me where I am, I'll let you all know.
  12. Agreed. I will say that the Tony awards this evening (for any of you other theatre kids out there) actually removed the prop guns from one of the performances tonight in respect, but again that's the day of type thing. I'm sure the walking dead will have similar weaponry in the house, and can only hope that events like this won't muddy the free speech and entertainment that makes America great. Now, with that said, has there been any real timeline to compare to for new announcements? I would have to assume that since tickets are now on sale, announcements will come quicker, giving reasons to actually attend an event for what you know will be there. I usually don't follow announcement timelines as closely as I have this year, that's just my perception I suppose.
  13. The 'announcements' page of the website has some pretty good stuff on it about the houses thus far. And after reading through them, I realize the walking dead is newer (the show obviously, not the house -___-) but the fact they're doing Exorcist and the original TCM is interesting to me instead of doing a more recent TCM installment or something. The articles written from A&D about the houses are really cool. Especially the Exorcist one. They basically talk about how to make a whole house out of a movie where the majority of the action takes place in one bedroom. I remember some of the old houses from my first few years attending that were IPs (The Mummy, Pitch Black, etc.) that had some pretty stretching rooms. They weren't akin to the Halloween house where we were able to essentially walk through a scene by scene remake of the film. So given the fact that the Exocist doesn't have a lot of material to it aside from that room, it would not come as a surprise to me that universal would choose another IP that may seem to us like there's not a lot of material to use. I'm really excited to see what they do with it.
  14. Yeah, I know. That's what I mean, I'm sure most people on here that work are returning. Just checking to see if there's any other newbs going in.
