  1. I guess the leak list everyone was sharing is officially bogus. I think it could be a good house but it makes more sense as a scarezone.

It wasn't bogus until Scream got scrapped on Friday.

  2. Depending on how the new season of American Horror Story plays out, I could see it being used next year. It has been considered for some time. I thought for sure we would be getting it this year. Last years Freak Show version would have been a perfect fit with Jack coming back.

The other possible IP they could use would be the new Scream Queens show depending on how well that works. It would be the "fun/comedy" house of the year which they seem to always have one of. We have Alice this year, last year we had Dollhouse, etc. Plus, with a "female frat house" as the main setting, it would also be the "sexy" house of the year like "From Dusk Til Dawn" last year.

They've tried to get the IP for 3 years now. It's not happening, especially after what happened with Scream. Ryan Murphy is probably the holdup so it'd likely be the same with Scream Queens.

No TWD anymore might mean them actually being creative again! TWD was the start of us having no icons or good marketing.

One of Hollywood's leakers already said TWD is secured for next year.

  3. Holy crap, I come back to the forums seeing more than 10 pages and I think the house is been announced when in actuality it was all this craziness about Scream! I feel bad for Aiello and company especially due to the fact that this had to happen on the 25th anniversary. However being a person who tends to look for silver linings I hope to spread my optimism to you guys with this.

With this Scream fiasco being a direct result of IP dependencies maybe Universal will learn from this and become more weary with certain IP as well as become more lenient towards original content next year, hopefully. You can always gain experience/learn from failure, so next year might have more binding IP contracts and more original content freedom. Who knows, maybe the leash on A&D might be loosened just a bit.

I doubt they're going to use many IPs next year, especially if The Purge replaces Scream. The Walking Dead and The Conjuring are the only current IPs I could actually see them using (and Purge if it's not used this year), a classic IP or two, and that's it.

  4. This is my first post here. How is everyone so sure scream was cancelled?  I know it's odd they aren't announcing the houses but they didn't say it was cancelled. I booked a private tour for the first time and the email said my tour last all night. The website says 4 1-2 hours. I called universal and they said that there were mistakes made on the website this year and the tour last the whole event. What I'm getting at is marketing and the business people have really dropped the ball for the 25th year. They still haven't corrected the mistakes on the site. Are you sure the house was cancelled, or marketing just hasn't come to an agreement on how they will present the material to the public this year? I am still holding out hope for scream, and the ghost face mask, not blow up doll mask.

Because several people with reliable sources have said Scream is scrapped.

    Also, welcome!

  5. Definitely not a troll. Been goinh to the event for 18 years. And well my source is the one who get the permits done. Sorry if my post got double posted. But I asked my source about the movie or show again today and unfortunately it is the TV show version. No houses are getting replaced. I just wish they wouldn't tone down the jack show. And it won't be in Beetlejuice since RHPS is going there.

Nice try, time to create a new account in a week.

  6. I'm gonna slide my question in now since everyone is on and talking about Scream. Also can everyone quit throwing shade about this years HHN house sanafoo? It's one house and they will replace it if shit goes down. It's not going to effect your experience. You are still going to go. You are going to flipping love HHN regardless. /end rant

The last 2 years my wife and I have gone to HHN has been pretty busy. Last year we went on a Friday in early October. Lines got to the 2 hour mark about halfway through the night. Year before (23) we went on a Saturday near Halloween and of course the lines were pretty long. Main point being is that we've gotten all the houses done and B&T without Express the last couple years. My wife expressed (haha get it?) interest in possibly getting EP's this year. Well I just booked the vacay and luckily enough we plan to do HHN on Wednesday Oct 7th.

What are your guys thoughts? Should we skip on the EP since it's a Wednesday and should have lighter crowds?

I also just want to express (There it is again) my gratitude to all of you. You guys (Mostly Legacy) are the bomb and I really enjoy chatting every day with you. Here's to a great season, regardless of whatever happens.

It might be best to wait and see on Express that night, I doubt it'll sell out the night you go.

  7. Construction was done some time ago.

Stranger things have happened. Think about it though. Scream is a movie about a masked killer who hunt stupid people in a house.

Replace him with Literally anyone in a mask and it is essentially the same house. Replace the killer, hire and interior decorator to change some furniture and paint. Viola! new house.

It could be a satire/dark comedy house used to stick it to Scream for whatever reason they pulled out.

It could be another Masked killer who randomly hunts stupid people in houses... cough   cough

It could be zombies... Whihc I would fin Hilarious.

Splash it in 3D paint and reuse some costume and you got The In between... or Dead exposure.

    Literally anything.

Too late for 3D with Alice.

  8. The movie would have to win the weekend to have a prayer of showing up in Orlando. And even then, I would doubt it. The other modern franchises they've used in Orlando (that weren't used before releasing) tend to have big openings or multiple films. I have feeling Crimson Peak will have neither.

    Cabin in the Woods?

  9. Hi all! I am new to this forum  and have been going to hhn for the last ten years. Is it just me or does it seem Hollywood has a much more exciting line up this year? Anyome have any thoughts on the next house they will be announcing?

Welcome! Hollywood is doing a much better job sustaining hype, that's why it seems more exciting. When it comes to the actual lineup we'll be far superior.

  10. Does anybody know what we had got officially announced this time last year? I know it doesn't work the same for announcements year on year, i'm just curious.

Last year, this week saw two announcements: AVP and Dracula. Otherwise it was still FDTD, TWD, Purge, and FaceOff.
