  1. Figured I should give an example of what I mean by the permit not showing any revisions. The following can be seen on the permit info for Tent 2 and Disaster, but is not listed on the Tent 1 permit info. " FYI - BUILDING-NARRATIVE When submitting revisions they are required to be clouded and a narrative attached describing all changes being made to the original documents." I'm not completely savvy with construction stuff (SS44 fiasco proves this), but Revisions to the Building-Narrative seems to be imply changes to the scenes/blueprints. I can only guess that changing the house from one thing (Charlie) to another (Altar) would require revisions to the building-narrative. Or they could have submitted the revisions absolutely perfectly, I suppose and no notes were needed. I find the uncertainty in the house line up fascinating, but very unhealthy for my "delusional" thoughts. Everytime I read about the confusion of 5/3 or 4/4 or Crows/Altar/Ritual, I small, traitorous voice (this is the conspiracy theorist) whispers: "Everyone is confused because A&D is hiding the fact that there are 9 houses!"
  2. Charlie is on a similar construction timeline as the Disaster house (Charlie is Tent 1). The permit for Tent 1 was pulled 5/13 which was 3 days before Mike announced that he was doing a treatment for Altar. So, Altar didn't event have blueprints yet. I also haven't seen any comments regarding revisions on the Tent 1 permit. Crows/Altar was always the original thought. The question was which one would it be? When the mystery permit cemented it's location (B79), most people believed a decision had been made. That's when the flip flops began. Crows! Altar! Crows! Altar! Then Ritual got thrown into the mix because it's the one original left that doesn't have a permit yet. Jimmy and JDW appear to feel solid on the Crows front. That Crows is indeed in B79. (At least that's my interpretation of their posts YMMV.) Ritual, for me would be the only realistic option for a change since it doesn't have a permit and one can assume it would be easier to Altar a house that isn't currently under construction.
  3. Mr. Murdy has made a few tweets regarding which HHNH maze will be announced next. They all seem to involve make up info. Ex: @HorrorNights: Make up is in full swing, still working on walking dead but also on scare zones and the next maze that we're going to announce... Going by those tweets and the fact that both coasts will be mailing an announcement this week, I think our next announcement is AvP. It could still be AWIL for them and Halloween for us, but I'm really hoping that I'm right!! *wants to celebrate the Xenomorphs*
  4. @HorrorNightsORL: So apparently something opened officially today.. That's cool. But I'm excited for some new HHN maze content to be revealed this week.
  5. Negative reaction? Yes and no. There were/are plenty of people who are complaining about the lack of diversity in a centralized themed street experience. And these people would like to see individual zones back. So, if they assume it's all Purge they'll will be unhappy with the announcement. There were also many people who asked for a centralized Purge themed street experience. The problem for this group of people is they will most likely end up confused by further scare zone announcements if they assume it's all Purge. Good marketing should be succinct and shouldn't have to be explained further (although people are stupid and refuse to either watch or read information). Personally, starting off with Face Off as a scare zone announcement would (in my opinion) help negate this confusion, and the animosity toward IPs that we have seen. It's an IP based on diversity. It would be easier to reiterate that there will be multiple zones. And it is technically "original" (one of constant complaints). Since these make ups will have never been seen before and are original inspirations derived from the minds of the artists, it could appeal to the demand for originality. It just doesn't have the powerful name to be the first SZ announcement. Unfortunately, my original hope for how the Face Off SZ would be done (not thematically but business wise) doesn't seem possible. My original thought was: We would get the final 3 competing at HHN. The show is on Fridays this time (7/18 is a Friday). 9/19 (Opening Night) could have been the season finale. Each of the final 3 have to make at least 3 make ups for their final challenge. It would have fit nicely for HHN. But, 10 episodes isn't enough time (I think they normally do about 13). Of course, that thought would have done well for a stand alone announcement next week. Perfect tie in. Watch this season's Face Off to see who will be competing at HHN Orlando! I still kind of hope I'm right on how this plays out, but it seems the time frame is against me.
  6. Which was my point to begin with... I think announcing a scare zone or scare zone/house combo or scare zones would be a good marketing move to help clarify that TWD will not be the street experience again. Although, I would not be surprised by a knee jerk reaction of "Oh! Purge as the entire street experience!" if it is announced first and by itself. The announcement video clearly stated that TWD was only 1 house and not a part of the streets, yet people still assumed it was the overall theme.
  7. Here are some posts to explain what I was referring to. All of these are comments on the announcement video on the HHN FB page. As you can see, people weren't/aren't paying attention. "AND a major scare zone. 3rd year in a row they do something Walking Dead. We're bored." "I can make anything the theme, but when I immerse you in only zombies, at that point does it matter what they "call" the theme?" "I was pissed at the announcement of another walking dead year but im genuinely excited about this largest maze ever thing." "Mike Aiello should be fired..The Terror You Can Expect?? Let me guess same crap as last year!! Walking Dead Season 4 Are you F*&king kidding me?? Here is a idea for next year too...Walking Dead Season 5...Oooo I'm a genius." "I think we are all heading to Busch Gardens this year. I have been to every HHN since it began multiple times per year. But, the company no longer cares about putting out a great product. Only taking money at the ticket booth. Even the discounted Frequent Fear is too much to pay for the CRAP HHN of 2013 and it looks as if it will be just as CRAP for HHN 2014." "You'd have a valid point if they didn't already announce the SAME theme for the third year. And yes. I could plan a much better theme than catering to whatever's popular at the time. It's also obvious, by all the feedback, they don't care about opinion, just dollars. The formula for HHN has been the same for years since the true creative team fell apart. But seeing as you don't even look old enough to have been alive during the beginnings of HHN how would you know? None the less attempt to school me on creativity."
  8. I really want AvP to be the next announcement. The wait is killing me!!! I need to hear it from UO, so I know I not dreaming. I don't know why the masses are confused, but I'm not surprised by it. It's like all the people who said since TWD is coming back they aren't going this year. You point out that it's only 1 house, and they just don't believe you and refuse to wait and see the other announcements. My big fear is that a Purge announcement not linked to any other SZ announcement will lead to exactly that kind of confusion. Oh! So, it's not all TWD! It's all Purge! Why can't we have diverse scarezones?!!! And then I'm going to have to respond with.. Because you refuse to read announcements thoroughly.
  9. It's not that I feel the GP hates it. I'm actually referring to the fact that it appears a large number of people believe TWD will be in the streets again. It would serve them well to address that early. For both the people who hate it and the people who love it. It just makes sense to make everyone aware that the streets will be diverse and varied this year since so many appear to believe it will be TWD themed in the streets again. (I've read posts by people who refuse to believe that TWD won't be the whole street experience even after they watched Mike's announcement video.)
  10. Mr. Murdy has tweeted: "All signs say yes" in regards to a maze announcement this week. Those on the HHNH side of things suspect an announcement of AWIL for their coast. But the possibility for us to receive a joint announcement is also there. I do not see this coast receiving an announcement until after tomorrow. So... If we see one this week and it's a joint announcement, what are our best guesses? Drac or AvP? I want AvP, but I'm bias toward that property. If we see on this week and it's not joint, we are left with either Halloween, Purge, Face Off, Halloween/Purge, Halloween/Face Off, or Purge/Face Off. I'm not seeing an original being announced this early. I'm going to speculate an announcement of Purge or Purge/Face Off. If marketing has been paying attention, they should be aware that the masses haven't been paying attention and think that TWD is in the streets again. Announcing a nonTWD street would be a good move. Now, Purge, unfortunately, would lead the less observant to believe The Purge is the entire street experience. But, I don't see an announcement for Face Off coming before the airing of the 1st episode of this season. Season Premiere is 7/18, and that's just the first challenge. I suppose a watch Face Off on (fill in date) to see an all new scare zone design announcement could work, but I feel the Face Off announcemt would be better suited on the day before, day of, or day after the episode attached to HHN airs.
  11. I thought Fallon was in 20? That was the SS number shown during the opening sequence. Either way, 22 works. EDIT: Jeramy's 5 queues... Inadvertently feeding my 9th house desires.
  12. Going by Doc and Cassilda's clues, some of Doc's comments, and Mike's last minute tweet about Altar, I would say it was: 4/4 changed to 5/3 back to 4/4 back to 5/3 back to 4/4. Confusing at it? EDIT: There is a small itty bitty tiny piece of me that still hopes all the confusion means 9 houses. It lives eternally in a state of denial and can't be killed.
  13. I have a strong feeling (may be entirely wishful thinking of "Yes! I cracked a Murdy code!") that AvP is shared. First there is the fact that Mike and John both tweeted about landing an OMG/FREAK OUT property within 45 minutes from each other. Add in the fact that a huge property such as AvP (not necessarily the movies but the creatures are huge classic icons) would be silly for either coast to pass up on when rights are granted. Plus Drac Untold wouldn't be an OMG/FREAK OUT property. Then follow Mysti's bouncing spec and AvP will be a shared property. Updated spec regarding HHNH's Maze #3, Beauty is only Skin Deep: The non-red herring hint: Hint #2: the code name "Beauty is only skin deep" refers to the BUSINESS of Beauty products... The business is Avon. Avon plays a very important part of the movie Edward Scissorhands. (Diane Wiest's character is making her rounds as an Avon lady when she discovers Edward) Winona Ryder is in Edward Scissorhands. She is also in Alien: Resurrection. Winona Ryder's character in Alien: Resurrection is an android that is helpful and friendly with Ripley like Bishop from Aliens. Bishop is played by Lance Henriksen who also plays Charles Bishop Weyland in AvP. I really do love finding six degrees of separation style connection!! I hope this is correct!
  14. @HorrorNightsORL: We also have is an FX team who is responsible for the fog, the smells and all the mechanical monstrosities that we create Puppets as well! Best tweet of the day!! Because PUPPETS!
  15. Yes. If Synergy is Drac Untold, then it is a SS. Synergy being the business term it is, it makes the most sense for Drac. The permit for code name Synergy is for SS24.
  16. Thanks for those history facts!!! And the small moment of giggling produced by this: " Settlers were forced to eat snakes, vipers, rats, mice, musk turtles, cats, dogs, horses, and perhaps even raptors." I pictured pilgrims eating dinosaurs.
  17. My take on the pic: It's an industrial machine. The person apparently had an "accident". Industrial accidents occur in factories. But... A clown factory, where they are made and not born, is a creepy concept that needs a catalyst to turn it into a haunted house. I'm an now going to fully speculate the premise of this house: A factory that makes clowns experiences some "technical difficulties" with their product. The clowns turn on their masters and makers and begin killing the people in the factory. The person in the pic is just some poor factory worker who was killed by the very product he was making.
  18. My wild theory is that Fake is working solely on TWD. (Plus all the Diagon Alley stuff they are doing). It kinda makes sense. Biggest house ever. Biggest IP ever (especially from a monetary standpoint). Hopefully this is the swan song for the property. Having it built by a proven company who you have worked with for years makes sense. Letting them dedicate their time to it and it only also makes sense.
  19. Another little update on construction: The Notice of Commencement for construction of HHN houses 5-7 has been filed. This group of houses are being built by another new builder, Keystone Builders. As people may remember, I posted about the NoC for houses 1-3 and the builder listed is P D E Homes. Need notices for 4 & 8 now.
  20. House sold! Any house that I can make random Game of Thrones references in works for me!!! As for the genre debate... Genre is such a subjective topic. Is Aliens horror or scifi? Predator action or scifi? Most horror incorporates a plethora of other genre material. Drama? Thriller? Action? Scifi? Fantasy? Each person will have their own definition depending on how the film or other media impacts them.
  21. My understanding of spec as it stands. Crow/Altar is no longer. Ritual/Altar is now how things stand. Ritual would be Cassilda Fox sister clues?
  22. Thanks! So, my brain has decided to legitimately speculate a 9th house. Everyone can ignore, but I figured I might as well feed my delusions. Mike tweeted a late in the game approval - Altar Altar has led to a plethora of confusion. Crows or Altar? Altar or Crows? Crows! No, Altar! Now add in the Ritual confusion. Then there was a weird muttering a heard about 5 SS houses. I ignored. Logistical nightmare. Add those all together. 9 house spec plausible? (Again, feeding my delusions and distracting myself from worry)
  23. Ease my fears someone!!! Please tell me it's not the one house I really, really want to see!! And is the new no... Original? EDIT: Well, Jeramy just eased my fears! Thanks. Having received bad news today (one of my friends is in the hospital), I'm going to pretend the confusion is because we are getting a 9th house. The universe owes me good news.
  24. Cassi's clue #4 may have just been a hint at Jack. It may not be connected specifically to a house. Clue #4 may connect to Clue #10. Since none of Dr. Jimmy's clue seem to point to Jack specifically, that could explain the numerical discrepancy.
  25. Gimp scene. If you said fancy peacock, the gimp would do a little dance. I can't remember which cast it was. It's always more fun when scareactors interact. EDIT: 08 also had a certain mullet wearing bar patron that was awesome! And since he's auditioning this year, I can't wait to see what role he'll get!!!
