Can't say Croation because it didn't work when Violet attempted to use it to banish the gay couple.
i think it didnt work because
Violet was a ghost herself. the words had to be spoken by a living person -
if they were going to be faithful to the Halloween 2 movie they would have to do the facade as the house and then have a couple of rooms in the "street" before the hospital.

ending should be like a toy workshop....

I'm open to suggestions. The problem with a saying only for Murder House is that it won't work in either Freakshow or Hotel.
11 hours ago, Jediwhit82 said:I think Murder House will be a significant portion, since Freak Show isn't really scary after SPOILER WOOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOTwisty dies.OK DONE. I would definetly do that. and we can't say Croatian because it clearly didn't work.
technically croatoan works with ALL 3 seasons if.... you .... know what i mean... "cough- mordrake- cough
croatoan also works in season 5...........

i really dont know how budget works but hopefully the generic commercial, the poorly done website and the generic billboards means they put more emphasis, work and budget to the event itself.
(I guess we can expect a low key generic entrance with not much done besides pics of the IPs and maybe this year's logo on top? ) -

I watched Season 1 when I was home on Labor Day and now I'm hoping the fan community can start something new. In the same way as you would ask "What does Z stand for?" and the way you could carry around a cat and comb, we should say "go away" to the ghosts during the Murder House portion.
why not croatoan

I've read a couple of things that make my expectations low for this as well, I will be happy as long as the costumes are cool or creative.

So I think it's safe to say that the facade of this maze will be the house from the movie, but can I just say that I hope the "front lawn" is full of the creepy snowmen!?
What do you guys think? I feel like it's a perfect idea and would make for a good scare.
Technically there would only be one snowman in the front (Or none depending how early the house is to the movie)
But I can see one of the rooms in the house being a room of snow and a lot of snowmen, maybe an actor dressed like a snowman (For a suprise attack) or i could see the snowmen at the end.But I dont think they would fit the facade.

LOL, maybe get a group with a bunch of big guys who can surround you at all sides when you're going through the Zones?
HHN bodyguard team, that could be a good business to get into

This is true, but my point is less 'there should be a way to get to B&T without going through zones' and more 'there should be better communication about where people with disabilities and varying needs can take a break from the scares'. Just like how those of us who use the AAP need a break from the crowds and such. I LOVE HHN, I love being scared, but I have a smaller 'capacity' of how much I can handle. I meet the park halfway by mapping out my own path through the park, where I can take a break, etc. Just wish there was the same kind of guide to HHN as there is for the park itself for those of us with these needs.
IIRC Universal is slowly starting to bring in more people to their Diversity and Inclusion department, specifically for disability access type stuff, so my fingers are crossed that they will improve in that area. I always have a laugh when people tell me 'you should avoid HHN if you're like this, you chose to go'. I like HHN *because* I'm autistic, as it has become a special interest of mine.
Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled discussion.
im sure if a person paid enough uni would do whatever they needed lol. maybe if they get 1000 bucks they will make sure to get you to bill and ted from backstage lol
But in all seriousness the only thing i dont like is that HHN is already as tame as it is, it is very tame (Compared to other events) and i am afraid the diversity department will try to make it less scary.Or if they cut down the zones. how can you skip the zone in San Francisco Or the zone in Central Park? there is literally no way to get to Bill and ted without going through a zone...
Unless they put together a RIP tour where those people would not get any attention from the actors but then again what would be the point????Whats your solution to seeing Bill and Ted but not being scared as much?

i hope they dont

They've gotta play "Earth Angel" in this scarezone! I love the Back to the Future version it's got a nice and eerie sound to it.
seems like that song would be too slow for a zone where vampires are attacking you?

Not to spoil anything for your AHS viewing, but seasons 4 and 5 have plenty of nightmare fuel.
Ive seen all of them lol, I was just saying that season 1 might be lacking in scary characters but they have enough for a couple of rooms

Anybody else watching / rewatching all the movies and shows related to this year's event? We've been doing this the last couple of weeks so we can hopefully appreciate the details that they put in each of the houses.
Krampus - It wasn't as amazing as I was hoping it would be, but the creature and set design were incredible. So it has the potential to be a great house. I'm hoping for ice-covered suburban living rooms with split-open fire places.
Halloween 2 - I forgot how incredibly cheesy this movie was. It should still be possible for it to make a good house. I hope we get a Michael Myers who has been perfectly shot through each eye hole of his mask blindly swinging a scalpel around near the end.
The Walking Dead - We've already seen all the episodes, and like everyone else, are struggling to work up any interest in yet another house. It'd be nice if they found a way to change this up enough to make it interesting, but I'm not hopeful.
American Horror Story - We've watched the first three seasons so far. (Yes, I know only the first of those will be featured in this year's house. I'm way too anal to watch the seasons out of order) The show is fun, but I'm having a hard time seeing how it will translate to a maze. It seems like a lot of the creepy stuff, at least so far, isn't really visual. Most of the ghosts in the murder house just look like regular people. I hope the stuff from the first season isn't just Rubberman jumping out at you several times.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Watching this tonight.
The Exorcist - Soon.
Bill and Ted - No need to watch the movies for the hundredth time, but we may try to watch more of the stuff that they make fun of this year since there are always a couple of references that we don't get.
murder house has that weird creepy baby in the basement and has the burnt ghosts, the evil doctor, if they do let's say 3 rooms per season, thats already enough.
even if the ghosts are just people, how is that different than the ghosts from Insidious? that house had normal looking people ghosts

Political debate aside, I wish they would designate some kind of safe space. I almost didn't attend my first HHN because all I wanted to do was go to B&T (I was going on a comp ticket) and I would have had to go through 2 scare zones either route to get to the theater.
Since I was pushed into experiencing the event itself and found a great community of friends who also go so I was able to enjoy it, it's less of an issue, but being autistic with SPD means I need to have the ability to regulate my 'intake' of this stuff. There are ways of hiding out in certain places, but no true safe space other than Diagon. Even Mel's wasn't safe if you sat in a window seat.
I won't be crying out to Guest Services anytime soon (mostly because they already don't have a great handle on disability stuff--waiting in line to get the AAP so I don't have to wait in line, anyone?), but still. Accommodations are no political claptrap or joke
well to be fair bill and Ted is Part of Hallowen Horror nights.. thats just how it is. thats kinda like me having a fear of spiders or dragons but wanting to do the potter ride lol, HHN is an event that you paid extra to get into, you are literally choosing to enter it. technically everyone is there for the houses and the streets and the horror stuff. Sure bill and ted is fun, but having a safe passage for people that just want to see Bill and ted and not experience anything scary seems like a very specific thing that not a lot of people would need.
Perhaps they could sell a special kind of hat or shirt that would allow the actors to know to NOT scare that person, I could see something like that being a better alternative. maybe they could sell a specific blinky hat that would warn actors to not mess with that person. But still bill and ted IS part of the horror event.- 1

Not to derail from the actual topic too far, but I was literally thinking about this yesterday in regards to next year already- specifically if the rumors of them doing AHS season 2,3,and 6 are true. I just finished rewatching season 3 and most of the "voodoo" in that season is very akin to the Voodoo Queen from a few years ago. It makes me wonder if they'd cut it out/tone it down in that section of the house... which would suck, because it's a huge part of season 3 (and also, imo, where some of the creepiest parts happen.)
soon uni will have to add giant trigger warnings and some safe spaces to the event lol.

at least with Fear the Walking Dead the sets would change.... no more forest sets for the house. that would actually be a positive. the house would look a lot different than it has all these years

Has anyone ever had any success asking their Publix to take the standee home after the event? I want one so bad.
last year some people on facebook showed pics of their standee, so yeah, you have to go ask before the event ends because people went the day after the last HHN day to ask for them and some stores just put them in the garbage. (I was told by a manager at a publix that they just trash them)
sometimes Publix workers ask for them so they get them (if they are fans) you could ask around maybe you get more than one. (I know people on fb were trying to buy them from fans as well)\
Hotels will have stands as well, Last year the Hotel stands had A Full size Jack picture so this year they might have a Chance pic, maybe.

how many people are actually buying the Frequent fear pass that includes saturdays? will that sell well? Aren't saturdays really really crowded? Not sure I would want to go on a Saturday with the FFP.

is anyone getting the frequent fear ticket that allows every single day?
isnt that kind of excessive?
