I had a panic attack at last year's event. Mine occur at random and without triggers. Since I drove all the way from NJ to be there, I was more annoyed that it was ruining the one thing I had been looking forward to all year. It came out of nowhere and lasted about an hour. I was hot and getting sweaty and could not deal with being stuck in between people at B&T, sonI sat outside alone while my group watched the show. It was sad
Security wouldn't let me take in my anxiety medicine and they made me rent a locker to put it in. Eventually it went away, but it sucked, so I feel for anyone who is in these types of situations and their friends that are losing out since they are tending to them.Anyway, I am lucky enough to be returning for my 3rd year in a row and cannot wait for this house. Halloween is my favorite movie of all time (all genres included). I spent a lot of time in film school studying horror movies and Halloween is always at the top of my list. I cannot wait to see that facade right in front of my eyes. It looks fantastic. I'm also excited for Roanoke because I have a weird obsession with the mystery surrounding the place and pilgrim costumes creep me out. I'll be there next Thursday and am counting down the days!!
Why wouldn't they let you take it? as for Halloween, you will have the time of your life lol. but for Roanoke... well, I wish you the best haha

it sucks if you enter a house during cast change, sometimes you miss a lot
-
I dont want to be a negative nancy but if anything the house made me not want to see it. I will probably watch it on Blu Ray, but definitely not in theaters. I wonder if other people feel this way

did any of you guys read the reviews on orlando Informer? The last one made the Jason seems really interesting. He mentions knowing some people at Universal and he talks about IPs and the next year.
there is no way to know if what he is saying is true or not, But I found myself agreeing with him on A LOT of stuff, the event is definitely missing that spark it used to have.
I don't agree with what he said about some of the houses, But just wanted to know what you guys think about it
Specially the IP comments at the end.

now I understand why they are pushing this movie so much, this Dracula is Universal's "Iron Man"
-
Someone always gets upset every year over something. Get used to the iP's because they're going nowherer buddy.
then at least do houses based on timeless classics and not movies that just came out.
look how well American werewolf and Halloween did, old movies, movies that have a lot of fans, and they bring in the crowds.
I doubt anyone cares about Dracula this year or even From Dusk, and look at how much love AVP is getting, even if the movies suck people are still going because they are fans

I would be happy if they just repeated the zone with the icons in 2010. even if everything was the same

i guess there are no walls because all the money went to WD? (To this day I keep hearing about the budget cuts in the streets)
I would have preferred bloody walls to the sides instead of the lame giant candles. The giant Candles remind me of something you see at Disney. I didn't care for them -
if that was true Universal would have done more with a story, maybe the fans care, but just like with the website most people wont give a hoot either way.

I've been 3 times and have enjoyed the event overall this year, but I feel like there could be a bit more themed environments around the park. the scare zones are decent, but it would be nice to have the lagoon show & projection on MiB back and just more creepy music around the park in general.
yeah videos in the queues and videos playing in the lagoon would be nice, but it's just more money they have to spend, and it wouldn't really add much to the event since the only thing that people care about are the houses.

I love this house, it is the creepiest/most psychologically disturbing of the bunch this year . . . but where's the story? at least la llorona had some story to it outside before you went in. people don't know anything about this house before going in. is it a haunted house? does it have to do with witchcraft? what???
I know I'm kind of being a little negative toward the originals this year, but that's because I find myself having to explain and defend them to everyone I've gone with this year. I really like all 3 of the houses, but they suffer a bit from unrecognizability when compared to the IPs.
Why does it need a story? same thing as the website, the general public won't care either way. I'm not saying houses having a story is not cool, I'm saying that this house works perfectly without it and most people wouldn't care if they did create a story for the house.
Im willing to bet that most people don't know what's going on in Giggles and Gore except the fact that clowns are killing people

The show was pretty awful to me. They were making jokes at some points and crowd was dead silent, it was super uncomfortable. I giggled at the Smaug skit but the rest just felt so lazily written and boring. Kinda seemed like some old guy writing it was trying to be hip and funny and failed.
Yeah pretty much, I'm surprised how much they missed as far as pop cuture gags go, I thought they were going to have so much more

if the point of HHN is the sets, and the only thing that matters is the sets (which are movie quality) then It makes me wonder if they will eventually get rid of Boo holes all together, That already happened with RE, and with WD this year. maybe if the focus is on how incredible the sets are maybe they could just have the actors out in the open in each house thew way they were in RE and instead of scaring people, just have them interact with people (Kind of like Roanoke actually, that house has some of this as well)
If what matters is how movie like the sets are, and seeing how people keep complaining about how scary HHN is, maybe they should just have really big rooms where the actors talk to you?-

ok anyone so offended by whats happening over seas needs to never leave their house. its so silly. Uni saying its a "creative decision". In the below article they say nothing about WHY?
Its turning into Universal Not-So-Horror Nights... Yeah I'm butthurt I don't get to go until 10/2 so I will have missed this, but if they balk at this to please the "PC crowd" that shameful (PC police are never totally happy anyway). This event is about one thing.... horror. Now its turning to horror and making sure everyone is at ease. Ugh
Still cant wait to go though!!!!! Houses will still be excellent. Im going to pretend I didnt read that stuff about covered cleavage....

more like halloween pleasant nights hahahaha

I finally got to see this house, and it was the best house of the event for me (so far) I still have not done Halloween, but as far as scares go this house gave me the most scares.
it was awesome, actors were great, gags were funny and weird, I loved it-

I felt like this year was the goriest of the three I have attended. There's no correlation between gore and demographics. I do think there is one between sexual content and demographics, which hinders the adult atmosphere. Although I could argue the barker at FDTD and B&T clearly cross that line.
Just for the sake of debate: what makes the consumption of alcohol different for HHN than it does at a NFL game? I believe it's about the same, and kids are just as likely to attend an NFL game. I enjoyed drinking at the event this year, but was put off by Universals uber stict policies and slack ass bar tenders. Also, I'm not an annoying drunk and remain a decent human being. I would never act obnoxious or disrespectful towards employees or patrons. The only way you can tell I'm intoxicated is when I snore while sleeping. Guess I wish everyone had the same tolerance I do.
I think the fact that people are inside a theme park, they tend to feel safe and that it's okay to let go. This happens at Disney all the time, parents get the feeling of safety and let loose on the drinking. Then you get all the things that JDW said but at magic K. (people throwing up on the rides, people punching each other, passing out, attacking the workers etc)
Now add a scary event like HHN and that's why there are so many problems sometimes. seems like all the problems a regular park has with drunks intensify when you have actors scaring and houses that make people feel claustrophobic.

I Think it will be fine if they get rid of the Tunnel if they could somehow add the alien puppet to the Alternate exit hallway.
If they could somehow add a hole and fit the puppet on that extra hallway or something like that then I don't think it would suck as much. The problem is if they decide to close the tunnel and then not even use that final puppet at all anymore. -
The thing is you can't fake your height. You can fake bravery. There's no way to scale fear. The government would have thought of it by now.
well yeah that seems obvious but what I meant was that your parents should be able to tell if you can handle it or not, right? it bothers me that they all act like it was Universal's fault the kid gets scared and not the parents' fault for taking them. Parents should have some more responsibility with their kids at the park

How come there are not more shots being posted by others?? I am not flooding or wearing out my welcome am I??
not at all (at least I don't think so) I really really appreciate the pics! specially because I don't see any other pics being posted, yours are the only ones I've seen so far. So thank you so much for taking them and posting them!

So I got to do 5 houses tonight (not AvP, Halloween, and TWD) and got inside at 7/7:10. Great night, lines were not horrible besides TWD and AvP who had at least 60 minute waits all night and Halloween had even longer when I saw the times. Kind of jumped around tonight- did Dracula, Giggles, B&T, Roanoke, FDTD, and then Dollhouse. Longest wait was Giggles and it was 30 minutes because the line was stopped for a while.
And about the age limit, I know it's annoying having little kids but I just don't think that's fair. My first HHN, I was 10. Yes, I didn't look in really any house and I was scared out of my mind, but it was something I loved. So I really don't think it's fair to have an age limit UNLESS it was an extreme event, which we all know as scary as HHN is, it is not an EXTREME haunt event with touching and grabbing. Personally I believe they toned it down this year, well the past couple of years they have. I mean what happened to houses like the Body Collectors!?!??!
then maybe Parents should sign a waiver or something, If your parents think you are strong enough to deal with the houses then sign it, It would be so simple.
I mean, rides technically have height restrictions, why can't they add some fear restrictions lol. You must be This brave to enter haha.
I mean, I don't know, I know parents would complain but if we have Rating systems for horror movies and people have to follow them, why couldn't they do that for the Park?
I know they are not the same thing, but really in this country we have restrictions for pretty much everything when it comes to kids.

Is it true that the dancers have their cleavage covered in FDTD as well? Anyone want to do an online petition saying the ticket prices are "too intense" or "offensive"? LoL
are you kidding me?

All it would take to fill TWD void would be Harry Potter. Turn London into a scarezone with Death Eaters all over the place and the masses will flock.
Simpsons Tree House of Horror would be a decent draw.
Granted, these two aren't typical horror franchises, just popular IPs with elements of horror tied in.
The Shining would be my most wanted IP now that AWIL, Halloween and Alien are out of the way.
Honestly, and it's sad this will never happen, I want the 25th anniversary to be a "best of" year. Bring back 8 or 9 of the best original houses HHN has ever done, 4 or 5 of the best scare zones and have the event hosted by the icons.
yeah this sounds about right. They already have that new cash cow in the back of the park when you think about it. They also already want the event to be PG 13 anyways. Why not kill two birds with one stone and make the event focused on Potter.
Add a Hunger Games house and you will have a bigger crowd that WD already brought to the park. If it money they want, that's money they will get. bigger crowds than WD... Guaranteed. (They already have had action movie houses like Dracula before, Hunger Games wouldn't really be that off)

Here's an idea.
Universal not advertise the zombie show of a rival network and instead do a house based on "Z Nation" instead. It's still a generic zombie house, but at least it realizes how stupid zombies are. That, and they can have DJ Qualls do the queue video "from Northern Lights."
Actually They could just do Both, I'll expect a WD house and also a Z Nation house going on at the same time next year

the funny thing about suggesting more shows is that the rocky show was not crowded at all when i saw it, what if they did bring a new show and it doesn't really help? lol
