Kind of weird that in 25 years Universal never made a puppet master... seems so obvious now.
Also, Will Orlando actually use it? how likely would that be? he would be perfect to join the other icons (Imagine if the Puppet Master had a stage this year with the other icons.... omg, that would have been so amazingbut, his style, his wardrobe and even his personality are too different than anything we have had as Icons go, not sure if the puppet Master would even fit with the rest of the icons.

There is no conceivable way to do a house in MiB based on just where they would put the queue for it and MiB during the day. Let's assume they start construction in July, which is later than they ever start. It's still the middle of summer, and MiB still gets up to 60 min waits on busy days due to crowds/ being right next to Diagon. Add in the fact that the park continues to grow in popularity, Twister and Disaster are lost capacity, and KONG/ nuHulk will be pulling people in, and you're gonna see a problem with not having most of the queue for MiB. Then for HHN, where could they possibly put a queue/entrance? I mean there's very limited backstage area by it for a queue, but I just don't see it happening.
However, if there's no conceivable way to control 9 houses plus their queues with all the construction going on, then 2 parks is actually a necessity this time around. 4 SSs, both tents, and parade building for houses. Then 2 SSs on the IoA side, and Poseidon as a 10th house. Have ONLY Hogsmeade, LC and Seuss (for SS entrances) open. Leave the rest of the park open for daytime guests till 7. After 7, possibly open JP and Kong for HHN guests. B&T in FFL, new show in Sinbad, Horror Makeup Show open, and possibly a show in Animal Actors, if it's still there. They just won't do the entirety of both parks, as that's an absurd amount of walking/ security/ TMs/etc. etc. But having mostly USF plus half of IoA with Hogwarts Express open could work.
There's gonna be a LOT of logistics to work out this year. And very possibly a lot of walking for us. Very exciting to be going into a speculation year when there's legitimate reasoning to believe there's gonna be a major change to the event layout for the first time in 10 years!
This is my dream right there. I really really wish they would do this (since I missed on the IOA HHN years) and whenever someone brings up plans like this, it really makes me sad because I know the reality is Universal will probably never ever do both parks again.-

If not a new Icon, I always wondered how well Robert L. Strickland would do as a icon.
Rough story: Warden Strickland was fed up with only running a small prison in the corner of the park. He has now expanded his new prison to encompass the entire park and all who enter are guilty until proven innocent or dead. Welcome to Hellpark Prison!
that would be awesome, seems so obvious that it would work too.
the only problem is how to tie the IP houses to that story, or what the zones would be likehe could even have a jail type show where jack's show was.

funny how all the icons are just professions lol. (director, caretaker, usher) what about The Producer or the Electrician, or The set designer lol
I was interested in fear because it wasn't just a person like that, too bad it came out so bad. (Lady luck was interesting in that sense too) Even bloody Mary was a doctor first and foremost. (even jack is a ringleader and entertainer)
Makes me wonder if the reason fear and lady luck didn't work was because they weren't showing a profession

well if you think about it, with the exception of Jack, all the icons were pictures from the past years, especially seen on the brochures. However, the Usher never had any pictures of him like Chucky, Saw and Wolfman in 2009.
Usher had two pics from the maps. makes me wonder why couldn't they make it black and white and use it.

has there ever been?

Did anyone go for the final night? I guess it was foolish to think, but I was really taken back with how crowded it was. Coming in, I saw more people at the will call Windows, than any other night I've been. And the express lines were some of the longest out of all my nights. FvJ's EP line at one point was literally backed up to the entrance. Same with Insidious. Not how I envisioned the final night going but at the same time, I had my fill.
Here's an interesting tidbit for those that didn't know: when the IAAPA show is in town later this month, they take some attendees (not sure how access is granted but likely IAAPA membership is one requirement) over to Uni and they get to go through a couple of the houses not demoed. Complete with actors. I'm jealous.
Yeah, I went thinking I was going to be able to do some houses or something and when I got there at 7 30 the entrance was packed all the way to the bridge
then when i was inside, since I didn't want to wait an hour all I could do was the Jack show and hang out in the streets. that was all I could do without doing any long lines -
The Priest.
But Universal lost its balls awhile ago to do an evil priest.
yeah that's a touchy subject
what about an evil monk? avoid the priest theme but something religious that wouldn't raise as much suspicion

what happens to all the pins and Vinyls that don't sell?
Would they bring them back for next year? (even though they say 2015) or what happens? What happens to the shirts?
I wanted to get a pin but I wasn't able. -
maybe they can change the name like bloody queen or something but I would love to see her back
should be changed to a guy named Bloody Harry lol
but for real, they would have to change the look too
Which is why I have always wished they just said she was a doctor now, Doctor Mary Agana. She should have been on the scarezone this year as a ghost doctor. you know? -
the only reason I did not buy the Icons shirt this year
having Chucky in it was kind of dumb. Usher is my favorite since 2009 but I found it really weird that there was nothing with him. pretty bizarre actually-

at least it's not a big company that owns the rights. I feel like horror nights has done everything. Yes there's more places to go but you've done almost everything. I'm gonna talk reckless for a moment and say I think they should make a new icon.
Bloody Mary was missing both on the 2010 event and now this one. two times the Icons were shown together and BM is never used.
I don't know what will happen with her but uni really shot themselves in the foot by using her in 2008, it should have been an original character instead-

It stinks it apparently got scrapped in 2013. A boy can dream..

Well, for my WISHFUL thinking, I want-
Scream Queens
American Horror Story
^ Those two will probably never happen (stupid Fox)
The Final Girls (hilarious, good scenes, very touching)
The Conjuring (could be good if done right)
The It Follows soundtrack to be played again somewhere in the park.
NO MORE WALKING DEAD!!!!!
But I feel like the Usher will be involved somehow next year. Did anyone else see the picture of what was written on the booth window? It was somewhere on either Instagram or twitter, but it looked like it said "SEE YOU 26" or something along those lines.
I would be too afraid of another SCREAM fiasco with American Horror Story. I would hate for the park and for the fans to have to go through that again...
That IP seems like it is impossible to get and they keep trying and they keep having problems...imagine this nightmare all over again with that IP.... fk that
As an HHN frequent visitor/Frequent Fear Passholder for the last 14 years, all I really want are the feelings and emotions I got when I walked through the smoke screen of the Caretaker at the Port of Evil, or while watching the elaborate and well-themed Terra Queen’s ritual or the goose bumps of walking up to the BEATIFULLY decorated front entrance of The Carnival of Carnage.
I want the “retro HHN” back, instead of this conglomerate-ran sell-out of an event it has become. Bring back elaborate scarezones like Fright Yard and Field of Screams. Bring back the well-made queue videos reminiscent of the original Body Collectors or Hellgate Prison. Bring back the thrilling and INTERACTIVE houses like Terror Mines. And PLEASE get rid of the terrible dubstep garbage music that was pumped through the park this year and bring back some Midnight Syndicate.
And don’t even get me STARTED on the websites and back stories. How in the world do you go from creating websites like you did for Ripped From The Silver Screen and The Carnival of Carnage, to just filling your site with copy+paste images and text with embedded YouTube videos?!
I don’t think I’m asking for much, especially when the prices of these Frequent Fear Passes go up every year.
As far as HHN 26, I’m more excited to see how they’re going to execute the event with all this limited space and with The Walking Dead “supposedly” being gone, than the actual event content itself. Is this the year we’ll get the “mega-HHN” people love to rumor about with both parks being completely open?
As far as an Icon goes, I don’t really care what or who it is, as long as we have a “face” for HHN. I’m tired of IP logos being the “Icon” of HHN for the past couple of years. It’s so sad to see where the event has come. Maybe I wouldn’t be nagging if they were making-up for all their aforementioned “mistakes” if they were pumping out some quality houses and scarezones. Mind you, Universal’s houses are the best in the business when it comes to design and theme. But we’re not getting BETTER haunted houses. We’re getting the same houses we’ve been getting the past few years, if not worse. Removing effects from houses just because a microscopic percentage of your guests complain or get “hurt” is not a valid reason in my books.
But hey, at the end of the day, yes I will be there on opening night with my Frequent Fear Pass (with Express) in tote and I will enjoy myself as much as my nostalgia will let me.
definitely preaching to the Choir. I wish for all of that too (even though I didn't get to experience some of that stuff) I agree, agree with everything.
It is funny about the music because at first I really hated the music playing at the gate, but by the end of the event I was dancing to it while going inside. the music every night definitely won me over (And since this is a carnival, at the end it felt like it definitely fit) I guess the music playing made sense in a weird way.
I do not think good, elaborate websites are ever coming back, but that's not even Uni's fault. That's just the fault of the rise of the Smartphone. Most people check the site on the phone, they probably think why invest time and money on elaborate stuff and backstories when all people are going to do is check the site on their phone for all of 4 minutes

oh well... that makes sense... duh for me, I didn't watch the show but seeing the pic made me wonder. The fact that the clowns were allowed to roam Springfield gives me some hope that Treehouse of Horror might be coming...

while I really love the Icons and I am always glad they are back when they bring them back... It really bothers me that we haven't had a good icon since 2009.
Universal keeps bringing up the icons every Anniversary and everyone loves them, they gave them shows. They are recognizable by everyone (Even non fans by this point) they appear on merchandise, They are one of the biggest part of HHN history.
Yet since 2009 they could never come up with something as good, why is that? Fear was pretty bad and Lady Luck wasn't that great. then Walking Dead took over and they stopped caring (Marketing stopped needing them so the Icon Well was all dried up)
But, Look at this year... Look at how important having Jack was, how great the Icons zone was. How everyone was freaking out when they weren't selling the Icons shirts anymore.
i wish awesome icons with full backstories came back. we need more icons, we need new icons -
one of my favorite things of this show was the Maniacs on stage. That made the show much better for me. I loved the dancing and the acrobats in the air. I know a lot of people hated the dance numbers but to me they were the highlight of the show in a way. the troll dance was pretty funny, and the dance before Amanda dies and during the big ass saw had a lot of energy which hyped the saw more. they were awesome.

Boy I can't wait for the same exact house next year too

You know, they advertise nine houses, but this is pretty much the same as it has been the past 12 years or whatever, AWiL is exactly the same except for better puppets, and the Purge was a shit version of the carcass of Scream. So, six houses. But the event was still somehow amazing.
trust me dude... if you ACTUALLY hot 6 houses, it would have felt Much much different than it did... not only in crowds and wait times but on the fact that you had 3 extra houses that you could walk into if you felt bored. a repeat house will always be better than an empty building that is off limits.
as much as Werewolf was disappointing, it was nice that you had the option to see the actors and the sets again.-

saw this before... was this a nod on the Simpsons? could this mean some Simpsons related HHN stuff next year?
Or just a random joke? just very interesting

That's basically the reason. The GP goes really nuts for modern horror characters like Freddy, Jason, and Chucky; whereas the likes of the Universal Monsters and Norman Bates are a lot less appealing to them. The B&W cast is something that appeals more to classic film fans (who usually tend to be a bit more civil).
Which also made me wonder if in the future, if Uni avoids using famous characters in the streets (specially with the actresses they hire) would the actor abuse be less bad
-
yet the classic cast was all there ( I think) and I think not a lot of actors left ( at least the ones without masks)
i
so it makes me wonder if the color cast was much more abused. And makes me wonder why.
was it because the color characters were more recognizable or what, but.. Yeah wtf

Is it a for sure thing that scare actors in TWD are told to remain slower to stay faithful to the show's zombies? I was in TWD (2012 in Hollywood) and we were able to come out as fast as possible as long as we still maneuvered like a zombie. May not have been 100% faithful to the show's slow moving zombies, but scares come first IMO.
for the past years that walking dead has been at the event that is what I remember hearing from some of the people working. to be like that. (i remember in 2012 hearing how they were told to slow it down)

Honestly the location is terrible and isn't really something that the actors alone can fix (to me). I get using the front area of the park because you really can't miss it and they seemingly want to occupy the whole park; but I hate it.
When I want to go home at the end of the night I want to GO. I get cranky when tired. I loved both concepts of screampunk and the masquerade last year. LOVED the concept. But I never spend any time in the zones due to location. Every time I've always power walked through them. There's no interesting scenery/backdrop to play off of with props, no food/restaurant to kind of sit at and watch. I don't even think they have benches in the area.
It's basically a speed bump on my way out and in but it's not an experience. If anything a hoard would do nicely there.. Like walking into the Purge last year was an experience. Walking into Psychoscareapy is an experience. Even Evils Roots while has quick traffic flow you are so closed in and immersed it's so surreal. Each zone feels like you just walked into something. This year when I went through this zone I hardly noticed. Last year it was more noticeable because of the high props, stilts and everyone made sure to shove a candle in my face.
The zone at the front of the park has nothing going for it to me. Ever. I'm always saddened they put my most anticipated concepts there.
you mention the horde, and I think more clowns with chainsaws could have worked here better. They would get the crowd moving more too, I always see people running from them in the Simpsons area.
My biggest problem with this zone is still that big ass prop they built. It is annoying to be honest, kind of an eye sore and it disrupts the flow of the street.i Think it could have been much better if they had a floating prop hanging from the buildings like they did for last year with the candle holder thing
I honestly just hate that big prop. I get why they made it and what they were going for with it, but something smaller and more props instead of just one big one would have been much better.
The giant prop they had was nice looking but it didnt fit the zone at all (in terms of size)Im not sure why the zone was scarier in 08 when it was just wizard of Oz... not sure why.

the difference between the masks for Jack in the house and the masks in the store is that the ones in the house have the mouth open for the actor to talk (from what I could tell.) The same way the Freddy masks have the mouth area open as well. (all the Jack's are fully masked now)
I think you had a really bad run with Freddy Vs Jason. the Freddy actors have a lot of energy now and the Jason Actors are pretty creepy.-

I go to HHN for streets and houses.
The last Bill and Ted show I went to was 2004? And the last show I probably watched was Death Drums, but that doesn't count.
but but...but it's Jack! and he's back! (I do think the show is one of the best shows of all time)
i did run again and it did feel more fun.(run is fun, fun is run, runfunrunfun hehe)

If Halloween Horror Nights were to make a new icon for HHN 26, what would it be?

even the vampire sister are pretty great, I wouldn't mind having them here too, Singapore is kicking out butts when it comes to their icons lol ( I know their event is pretty new but still)
