  1. The following dates are student holidays according to public school calendars, and may affect crowds on adjacent nights: Brevard County: Monday October 15 Lake County: Monday October 15 Orange County: Monday October 15, and Friday October 26 Osceola County: Monday October 15 Polk County: Monday September 17, and Monday October 15 Seminole County: Thursday October 11, and Friday October 12 Volusia County: Monday October 15 And the UCF night has not been announced yet. Expect a lot of guests on Sunday October 14th
  2. I've heard of folks who hang hooks just to injure someone else, and then I've heard of litigious folks who work in pairs, one to hang the hook then one to walk through later and get caught by it and try to sue the owner of the house. Real nasty people out there. Fortunately I know every house has a metal detection wand and security walks through at least every day when opening the houses
  3. Hell Week typically coincides with public school closures https://www.ocps.net/Pages/Detailed-Calendar.aspx Orange county hasn't listed a closure for the month of October. http://ems.volusia.k12.fl.us/MasterCalendar/MasterCalendar.aspx Volusia County has October 21 scheduled for closure. So I'd assume from October 20-31 will be swamped

    Krampus

Scarehouse in Pittsburgh did Krampus last year... although it's about 50-50 original stuff to sticking to the movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTxVThp8RXY
  5. I've been waiting for a good, old fashioned, Alien Invasion scarezone for a while now. I doubt it'll be this year because it should be coupled with a maze. So I don't want Interstellar Dream to be it. To add more definitive proof to yesterday's hint, someone ran it through a spectrograph and got a clearer result than the one posted here earlier: "Der Schatten des Heiligen Nikolaus"
  6. This "Requel" could be The Return of Penn & Teller's New'kd Vegas Or maybe the "Jack never really goes away" thing means another Jack Presents: 26 Years of Monsters & Mayhem
  7. Eddie won't ever be an icon, get over it. Especially not this year unless they want to downplay TCM. If anything, last year was the year of the chainsaws, with Eddie & Sam Meetz at the end of M&M, Chainsaw Drill Team, Clownsaws, and Orange is the New Black with Chainsaws. I've noticed a trend in the houses these past few years as well: 2013: An American Werewolf in London 2014: Alien Vs. Predator 2015: American Werewolf in London 2016:? All These used Puppets 2013: Urban Legends: La Llorona 2014: Roanoke: Cannibal Colony 2015: Body Collectors: Recollections 2016:? All These (Loosely) Historic 2013: Havoc: Derailed 2014: Halloween / Alien Vs. Predator 2015: Freddy Vs. Jason 2016: Texas Chainsaw Massacre All These Featured Tall People 2013: Cabin in the Woods (~) 2014: Dollhouse of the Damned 2015: Jack Presents: 25 Years of Monsters and Mayhem / RUN: Blood, Sweat, & Fears 2016:? All These Are Compilations 2013: Afterlife: Death's Vengeance 2014: Giggles & Gore 2015: Asylum in Wonderland 3D 2016:? All These Are Fun(?) I find it likely we'll get some houses that fit the trends. Krampus for the Puppets, Nightingales or something for the history, we already have TCM for tall people, Don't know about compilation, and maybe Penn & Teller again for the Fun(?)
  8. Now would be the perfect year to westernize that Politician/demon dictator icon
  9. Worst Case scenario would be a callback to HHN 23 in the streets with nothing but The Purge everywhere. I am one of those people who advocate for a Ghostbusters house & Recently a Krampus house. I trust Universal to create an entertaining GB house that might turn out as well as AWIL. For Krampus I can imagine they can take the notion from AvP and FvJ where it's an encounter with Krampus in a different setting, not parallel with the movie. What I really want is a Megahouse like M&M every year, but not anniversary themed.
  10. Okay honestly why is Trick 'r' Treat listed every year? It's been out for so many years now and personally I've yet to meet anyone in the real world who saw it. and for the rest of these wet dream ideas, they'd only make about 2 worthwhile scenes. -Alfred Hitchcock: There seems to be a reason that Hollywood only uses Psycho, whether it be their backlot tour or the now defunct House of Horrors, and it's because any other Hitchcock film includes so much buildup & suspense to the climax that everyone seems to remember, and recreating that in a house would result in the equivalent of a museum exhibit dedicated to his work. But if you want 10 rooms of shower curtains go right ahead. -The Shining: okay let's forget about the fact that we'll never, EVER see a King book/film as a house as long as he lives, and look into the Overlook. "Here's Johnny" obviously, then the maze finale. Good luck trying to get 100+ gallons of "blood" to flow out of an elevator every 6 seconds. Throw in the naked old lady, the dogsuit blowjob, and the skeleton ballroom and you've got one heck of an incoherent house on your hands. A lot of what makes these two examples scary is SHOWing the scariness through TELLing a story, often with dialogue. The energy & style of HHN is TELLing a story through SHOWing a Scare. /endrant
  11. I'm trying to think as to why sliders are absent at the event. First ting that comes to mind is the crowds, one wrong miscalculation and someone will knock people over like bowling pins, and they'll start lawsuits. Second thing I thought of was the surface of the ground. I believe it's mostly flat but aren't there a few areas where it's brick?
  12. I thought 2014's Bayou of Blood street experience would be a decent house. Witch doctors, voodoo, & the creepy looking cemeteries Lousiana is known for
  13. Food for thought: Would this partnership toy with the possibility of other video game IPs such as Resident Evil or Silent Hill?
  14. I would absolutely LOVE a Krampus house. All the practical effects in the movie would transfer really well into a house. They won't dare touch Scream again for at least 5 years, if ever. And maybe they'd think twice about using a Dimensions Films property. TWD is just something we'll all have to get used to. I know some find it repetitive. I know it takes away the opportunity for Uni to make an original zombie based house like Dead Exposure. I want them to continue the Legendary Truth & Urban Legend house series, as well as a sequel to Nightingales. A house based on modern, uncopyrighted creepypastas would be really scary.
  15. Most of what is left of Nick Studios is just office space, hallways and storage. They used the Soundstages and what is currently the Sharp Aquos Theater for the actual filming. And besides, trying to get the rights to all the characters would be hell, even if they would allow their children's show image be turned into some type of monstrosity in the first place. On the topic of Eddie becoming an icon, I would predict a lot of those asking for it would be disappointed with the result. I prefer him as the face of a house rather than a voice of the event, because I've not seen him speak... ever.
  16. Since the LT experience this year heavily involved both the lantern and 2008, Perhaps find a way to fuse Dr. Agana with Fear? Or if they're looking for a simple name change along with a revival of her image akin to 25's Jack, just call her Dr. Agony or simply the Doctor
  17. My money's on Ghostbusters, either the classic as the throwback house or the forced IP house of the remake where you walk through the house listening to Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones trying to be funny. TWD is imminent, though I am noticing that mainstream is getting a little zombie-fatigued (Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, really?) so I'll wager that we'll definitely see it this year, Idk for 27 though. The Third Purge movie is also scheduled for release in 2016 and given the success of the scarezone & house(?) we'll see it return. The past few years FOX has proved that they don't want AHS to be involved so that and Scream Queens are probably out. As for originals, I would like to see something entirely new. If they were to make a nightingales sequel, maybe incorporate the geisha thing they wanted to do for 24. Speaking of nightingales, they should eventually retcon Lady Luck to be a nightingale. Deep down I want a Leave it to Cleaver sequel but I'm having trouble thinking of a way to make it an entirely new experience from last time. I would like to see Legendary Truth expanded again to the whole event, and have the storytelling & some tech they used for 25. Disaster Queue is entirely out in terms of house placement. Shrek theater proved to be useable. Twister itself is not used for the house so the queue for that soundstage can be wrapped around someplace. To have both parks open wouldn't be as troublesome as some expected, there was no issue with Diagon Alley being open without theming, so why can't Hogsmeade? Seuss Landing would be barricaded straight through from Poseidon to Port of Entry, and I'm unsure about Marvel because if Potter was open, I don't see why Marvel can't see extra hours without theming.
  18. I'd still call him a good icon, just that it's time to retire him only to bring everyone back for anniversary years. In fact, I'd call him the best icon, but HHN has definitely suffered from that. He was created because clowns are the #1 fear in america. I don't know about you, but I can't think of anything better than #1. It's untoppable. Jack's untoppable. He's definitely me most marketable of the original icons. And only one other Icon, the Storyteller, can make for a decent stage show. all others are too slow paced and methodical. Jack is spry and jumpy, and Storyteller's stories could come to life to kill victims. Other than that the Director would work if he was retrofitted to the Disaster! ride, instead of Frank Kincaid it's Paolo Ravinski. But to get back on topic, Jack needs to be put on the backburner until HHN30, just like he was since HHN20. Other options for stage shows are RHPS:aT (*crickets*), Beetlejuice (given that a sequel is in order we could be seeing this in the future), or stage magic (my vote is to bring back Brian Brushwood) I did like the nod to Twister being slow & painful
  19. Do we have a complete list yet? Classic: Nosferatu, Dr. Frankenstein, Frankenstein's Monster, Bride of Frankenstein's Monster, The Invisible Man, NotLD Zombie, Gypsie, Fez Guy, Hunchback Modern: Freddy, Jason, Reagan, The Thing, Chucky, Tiffany, Dog Purger, 3 from The Strangers, Carrie, Cheerleader Victim, Greaser/Biker dude I'm certain I'm missing a few. also some names and films to associate the characters with. also, if they're trying out different characters like the ICONS zone, might as well try the miner guy from My Bloody Valentine
  20. so it's my understanding that Diagon Alley did very little to help with house wait times. In fact, it seems like the exact opposite happened. All the rides are nearly walk-ons, save for Rip Ride Rock-It.
  21. eh, Diagon Alley is a double-edged sword in my opinion. Sure, it'll be a people eater, but at the same time, how many people do you think are now going to attend because it's open? Safety codes have probably increased park capacity because of the opening, and I think the wait times will suffer because of it.
  22. Just saw the media preview, and
  23. since they can't do Scream, the they're definitely mocking it in Bill & Ted, right?
  24. I always thought HOTY was a big joke. a few important & active forum members state their opinions, and the rest of us are just like that .gif of BJ Novak pointing and agreeing.
