I think it could be done well. The scares were simple yet very effective in the film. I think part of it would HAVE to have the masqurade ball. (Bio shock ripped this off and it was effective there too.) you could have the snowy labrynth, the dead woman in the bathtub, the twin girls and the hallway splattered with their blood... The possibilites are endless.

Why is it sad? It may cub people doing such things. Of course the adrenaline junkies who do it bacause its wrong.. there no hope for them.

S.S.Frightantic Is one... err two of my favorite houses of all time. I still think it was awesome how they had 1 ship and two houses running through it and when you walked in you could see the people walking in for the other house on the other "dock". I loved the dead Kate and Jack on the Bow too. My only problem was all the water. I slipped in it and fell. Had a wet butt... but no harm no foul. I miss the risks they used to take in the old days.

those are BOTH top-notch ideas! So these scare zones are an enigma to me. I figure the houses will be "best of years" but will the scare zones be the same? If it is to be a collection of the best scare zones of the past then this is my pic: Midway of the bizarre - We've had 8 incarnations in the past and you know we will have clowns... So why not bring the best clown scare zone back. It's a crowd pleaser! Toxic City/ Apocalypse Island / Deatropolis - since they are all virtually the same (give or take) and we all love zombies... Field of Screams / Harvest of Souls - I really want to see Field of screams' corn idea done without a hurricane. MZ's idea to combine harvest of souls with the pumpkins from the last two years is awesome. Basically a harvest/scarecrow/pumpkin type area. Horror wood - Had three incarnations AND it was the very first. It is a HHN staple Blood and Thunder Alley - We need a scare zone that epitomizes HHN 15. I really like the whole crazy biker aspect of 15 Maybe combine all the aspects from 15 into one scare zone? Fractured Tales - Was a crowd favorite. Could add aspects from Treaks and Foons (like that messed up bunny with the noose) The Skoolhouse - Another favorite. Would like to see that awesome house again. An update of the "Horror Comes home" scare zone - Just adding more from the years since 16. Maybe call it "Screams of the Past" or something like that. The Streets of Blood Revisited - Who doesn't want to see the Collectors again? If we don't have a PsycoScareapy house (Which I'm sure we will), a scare zone where the inmates are loose in the streets. (would be good in NY area) Something like "ShadyBrook unleashed" or something. If we are having new scare zones: I still think a black and white scare zone would be awesome. A "creatures of the deep" scare zone or S.S. Frightanic (CFBL, octopi, seaweed, buoys, etc.) I would love to see the buoy from Fritanic come back. I'd have to think of some more but that's all I got right now.

Yeah I mean the pumpkins were top-notch in 2008 and syncronized to go off with the Bloody Mary audio. Last year was the same audio... minus the Bloody Mary. It also seems people can't help but destroy them. They were cool but three years would be a bit much. Harvest of souls and troupe were both awesome. It would be awesome to see another good sz there again. On a different note: I don't think Nazermanns will be used again as the one building is just so small... Do you think, with 10 SZ and last years sneak peak, we will see sting alley used?

10 and 10 is a lot... I do hope qulaity is the focus and not just a 20 number... Even with last year the SZ were small... I can't imagine more... unless the use the largely neglected back half of the park. Adding Amity back seems like a no brainer. Get rid of the pumpkins (which I'm tired of anyway) and you have another SZ... maybe one between kids zone and Simpsons? I really hope the lagoon show comes back I thought the 16 one was awesome.

Thank you both. About the Director/Usher... that would make sense... But they are both fairly strong characters... do you think they would combine well? Honestly I saw this problem when the Usher idea first hit. While the IDEA is different the HOUSES end up being similar if not identical.

here is something I came up with in between calls.. I'm still working on it... but it would work... Crypt Keeper - Scream Reel Dust off the Reels of the past as the Crypt Keeper guides you through some of cinemas most bone-chilling scenes of the past. Jack/Eddie - Blood Ties You’ll find out if blood is thicker than water as you become caught in the middle of a bitter sibling rivalry of murderous proportions. With Potter opening and it being the 20th... anyone think we might get both parks? (Heck just IOA would be nice too). I really just enjoy the ambience of IOA much more. Plus HP could make a wicked SZ.

I voted yes... Being that I have been a huge factor in this for 2006, 2007, and 2008... and then a few this year. My thought on it is if it is accesible then its fair game. Having said that last year got way too crazy and I feel a lot of that is my fault. As a result, after my initial shots I did not do it again. So it is a mixed subject for me. However, if there are said pics... then I'm all about them... Just can't condone the taking of them. Will I do it again? My wife says no... But in reality? I honestly don't know.

I've gone since Fright nights as well (was 15). I've been every year but 14... It was a bad year for me with the hurricanes and all. But I vowed not to miss another year.

I absolutely loved the parade. I wish it would come back. And I don't really mind giving up one SZ and one house. It seemed the sz were spread too thin and small this year. I would rather have quality over quanity. The route could just go from Jaws around NY and back... But I guess it isn't a popular idea based on the ranking.

Agreed I would love to see Field of Screams done (That was the ONLY year I've ever missed) Deadtropolis done better would be awesome as well. I still want to see a completly black and white SZ... but don't know if they could pull it off. For somereason I'm drawing a blank on other scare zones right now... too early. Other than that, A house for The Caretaker (Screamhouse), The Director (ANDI), Bloody Mary, The Usher (Doesn't he conflict a bit with a Director house though?), Cindy (Perhaps STIV?), The Storyteller I guess (maybe the skool?), and I'd really like to see the Terra Queen/eelmouth brought back in a house... maybe a best of story from HHN15.

I think UNI has created a good balance between their material and popular horror venues. Not to mention the cult of HHN swells each year with more and more people following the updates as they occur. But I agree Joe public may not follow every nuance of the site but MOST do know the ICONS... I'm just so 100% tired of Jack... sure give him a house if you must but he's worse than Freddy, Jason, and Michael Meyers… He just keeps coming back. While other far more interesting icons go by the wayside. I’m excited to see a reunion year… Someone quoted TJ as saying it was a scrapbook motif for the year. I jokingly created a new icon the Scrapbooker… here However I imagine they will reuse the drawers which are still on the site from 16… possibly give them a face-lift?
