  1. 1. Graveyard Games This house is flawless and I think it might be one of my all time favorites. It’s simultaneously gorgeous, disturbing, and downright terrifying. I absolutely adore the costumes and set design and the special effects in this house set it apart from the others. The Grinners and Glowing mother combination was one of the most chilling scenes I’ve ever been through. 2. House of 1000 Corpses I am a huge fan of the movie, so I had a blast during all 5 of my runs through this house. The cast is GREAT and the house feels LONGGG. I also got my biggest scare of the night in the tunnels, Earl Firefly and the air blast is one of the best scares of the year. Baby Firefly for HHN 30 icon please. Side Note- The Actors playing Captain Spaulding were all fantastic and I love that this house feels a bit like a tribute to Sid Haig- I saw flowers on the gas station counter during my last run pone night. 3. Universal Monsters After my first runs of all of the houses, this one was almost at the bottom of my list, but with a good run this house is INCREDIBLE. The cast is fantastic and the scenic design is possibly some of the best. The facade and statues are GORGeEOUS and the Phantom room is the best use of mirrors since FvJ. 4. Depths Of Fear I think going in with low expectations helped this house- but I think that Depths is one of the scariest of the year. The cast is insanely energetic and I LOVE the mouth-brooders. I love them. I was basically alone during one of my runs of this house, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at HHN. 5. Yeti: Terror Of The Yukon This house is so good. The yetis are just as amazing as the mouth-brooders and the subtle comedy in this house truly makes it feel like a Slaughter Sinema spin-off. I wish that the ice caves were longer/more elaborate but I was thoroughly impressed with everything else. 6. Ghostbusters This house is really, really good- but it is extremely dependent on having a good run. My first run of the house was extremely disappointing, but my second was MUCH MUCH Better- I think we saw every effect and scare in the house. I got to high-five Venkman at the end! 7. Us Super creepy house, one of the most unnerving of the year next to Graveyard Games. The cast is super committed and I really like that HHN has a house with a predominately POC cast! Even if it’s an IP it is super cool to see diversity represented throughout the event! Fans of the movie won’t be disappointed. 8. Nightingales: Blood Pit I really liked this house! I found it hard to believe it was in a tent, this house has some pretty large and impressive scenes as well as the classic claustrophobic halls that this tent has made its trademark. The gladiator attacking the static figure is SUCH a cool effect and that scare-actor might be one of the best of the year. New nightingales looked awesome and the finale is downright terrifying! 9. Killer Klowns from Outer Space This house is not scary at all. But that’s part of why I love it. This feels like the real “comedy house” of the year even though that could be argued for quite a few- but this house is truly funny from start to finish. The costumes looked great and some of the effects were AMAZING- Klownzilla is phenomenal. However I think that this house felt too short, and I could have used some better set design throughout. 10. Stranger Things This house is much, much better than last year’s ST. The cast is pretty great and the sets are impressive, if a bit repetitive. I loved the cabin scene and I think that energy like that would have helped the house in some scenes- there were a few rooms and transitions that felt completely empty- like the lab security room and that weird outdoor area after the bus scene? But overall, this is a satisfying house with some great effects and a great cast! 1. Vanity Ball I truly think this is my favorite scarezone I’ve ever been through. The cast is great and the runway is one of the best uses of Hollywood Blvd I’ve ever seen! I also love how this zone has great LGBTQ+ representation! As a member of the lgbtq+ community it’s great seeing the Ball scene represented and it’s still scary! The mini shows are awesome and underrated, and the costumes are fascinating. Best of the year by far. 2. Rob Zombie’s Hillbilly Deluxe Everything after Vanity Ball ranges from good to Meh, luckily RZHD is a pretty good zone. It’s not very scary, but it has a unique party vibe and it has some cool costumes. I LOVE the metal robot guy and living dead girl. A fun zone for Rob Zombie fans and everyone else! 3. Vikings Undead This zone is quite underrated in my opinion. I think this is the scariest zone of the year by far, but it’s still beautiful like most Central Park zones. The blood eagle mini shows are fantastic and the costumes are great as well! The actors also seem to be getting really into this one. 4. Zombieland Double Tap These last two scarezones are... interesting. Zombieland is a great movie and it’s kind of wasted here, like the zone LOOKS good but zombies have been beaten to death (pun intended) at HHN and this felt like such a generic zombie zone that it was just boring and a pain to get through. The bathrooms are the best part of the zone! I wish more humor like that was used as opposed to just zombie scares. 5. Anarch-Ade This is the best zone that has been in this area since Scary Tales Steampunk but it’s still SO underwhelming. The Neon was neat but this zone just feels like a weird entryway as opposed to a real zone. I think this area really needs a fresh spin on a zone next year or it officially will become a cursed area. I’m just tired of the whole props to the side, something above, and stilt walkers with lights thing that this area seems to get every year.
  2. 1. Graveyard Games 2. House of 1000 Corpses 3. Universal Monsters 4. US 5. Yeti: Terror of the Yukon 6. Killer Klowns from Outer Space 7. Depths of Fear 8. Ghostbusters 9. Nightingales: Blood Pit 10. Stranger Things 1. Vanity Ball 2. Rob Zombie: Hellbilly Deluxe 3. Vikings: Undead 4. Anarchade 5. Zombieland: Double Tap
  3. 1. American Horror Story (been waiting for years- I know its unannounced) 2. Krampus (favorite horror movie of last year) 3. The Exorcist (it's about time we got this house) 4. Tomb of the Ancients 5. Halloween 2 6. Ghost Town 7. Texas Chainsaw Masscare 8. Lunatic's Asylum 9. The Walking Dead
  4. An Urban Legends house based on modern urban legends would be cool.
  5. A time travel house? NOT Ip based but that could be cool.
  6. Agreed. The show has a good amount of things from each season to support a "best of house" I said somewhere last year in wishful thinking that a Murder House house traveling through the different decades of the house would be awesome. Hotel could work as well. I just hope one day something happens with the property, it's getting a huge cult following.
  7. It stinks it apparently got scrapped in 2013. A boy can dream.. Well, for my WISHFUL thinking, I want- Scream Queens American Horror Story ^ Those two will probably never happen (stupid Fox) The Final Girls (hilarious, good scenes, very touching) The Conjuring (could be good if done right) The It Follows soundtrack to be played again somewhere in the park. NO MORE WALKING DEAD!!!!! But I feel like the Usher will be involved somehow next year. Did anyone else see the picture of what was written on the booth window? It was somewhere on either Instagram or twitter, but it looked like it said "SEE YOU 26" or something along those lines.
  8. Post-HHN sadness :( #sadjacksmaniacs

  9. Based on what my tour guide said, the long space at the end of the house leading out was to trick people going through who thought after they left the ss that the house would be over. That way the two chainsaws would surprise guests more.
  10. I made that mistake in this house. I couldn't find my way through the moors scene even though I knew this house like the back of my hand.
  11. Houses 1. Body Collectors: Recollections 2. FvJ/M&M 3. Insidious 4. Purge 5. Asylum In Wonderland 3D 6. Run: Blood Sweat & Fears 7. AWiL 8. TWD Scarezones 1. Psychoscarepy: Unleashed 2. HHN: Icons 3. All Night Die In 4. Evil's Roots 5. Scary Tales: Screampunk
  12. Can't believe it's the last night of HHN 25. Hope all the scare actors have a great and safe final night. #sadjacksmaniacs
  13. In Giggles and Gore, the Top Hat clown was walking back behind the facade, and he saw me and tried to scare me. When we got to his room, I yelled "YOU'RE MY FAVORITE!" and he waved at me and gave me a thumbs up. It put me in such a great mood for the rest of the night. In 25 years, the mirror Jack recognized and waved at me which I thought was great! I love when scareactors recognize me, it's such a good feeling. Also, in 2012, pretty much the entire group of chainsaw ladies ganged up on me at once and it was pretty hilarious.
  14. Great show! I loved the little HHN inside jokes and the kills. Chance is awesome.
  15. Tweedle Tweak and Tweedle Twerk are awesome at a double scare. A lady in front of me got so scared because they both jumped out at the same time she ran into the next room. I would have loved the Cheshire cat to have had a bigger role in this house. I would have loved a pitch black hallway with a smiling face at the end of the hall and it fades out, and then a 1, 2, 3 strobe effect of Cheshire cat faces on the wall, and then a scare at the end of the hallway by a scareactor.
  16. In Asylum- The playing cards and first rabbit gave me good scares! Run- The second mummy in the Egypt room got me good during both of my runthroughs. Insidious- Insane props to both Men who cant breathe in the hall scene. The lipstick demon outside the house was amazing. Body collectors- EVERYONE! IN BOTH CASTS! A M A Z I N G!! Especial props to the first gentlemen and the nurse who made sure they got me during all of my runthroughs, as well as the assistant in the dungeon room, you got me EVERY time! In FvJ- The Jason in the showers scene, as well as everyone in the dream world scenes! AWESOME! AWiL- The new wolf got me so good! I didn't expect it at all! 25 Years- PAPA BEAR! SO AWESOME! I love Mirror Jack so much! Thanks for waving at me during my second runthrough if you ever see this. Purge- The purger in the screen room got me SO good! As well as the post-finale DOG purger! TWD- I loved the scares in the barn! Good energy in here, and good job using the barn walls as hiding spots! Scarezones overall- I love the Jester hat inmate in Psychoscarepy! Thanks for coming up to our window at Finnegans! The Usher is SO GREAT in Icons! The black and white cast is so cool in All Night Die In- Great scares! Thanking the Little Red scareactor (Cast B?) for getting me while I was distracted in Scary Tales. Stilt scarecrow in Evils Roots got me so good!
  17. This year was great. Just amazing. I loved every house (Aside from one) and every zone. This year, I had the pleasure of going TWO nights instead of my usual one night trips. My first night was Friday, October 23rd, and my second was Saturday the 24th. So, without further (Insidious hehehe) ado, here is my review of Halloween Horror Nights 25! My absolute FAVORITE house this year was... Body Collectors! Recollections! Re-collections? Who cares about the subjective title?! This house was incredible! The facade was breathtaking, the snow was great! The first room had a very good scare that was also kind of a show scene. The rooms that followed were wonderful. Some highlights for me include the spine rip scene, which was my first time ever seeing this effect. My first time walking through I was so interested by the effect, one of the Gentleman's assistants gave me an amazing scare! I also loved the assembly room. Overall, just an amazing house. The assistants make for amazing scares in the rooms they're in. My second favorite house was... A TIE! My first ever (I think) tie between two houses. These two houses were Freddy Vs Jason and Jack Presents 25 Years of Monsters and Mayhem. Freddy Vs Jason was great. It had a ton of strong scares. I loved the individual Freddy and Jason parts, but the scares were the most prominent in the versus parts. The versus parts were scary, but I felt that the sets were definitely lacking in comparison to the individual parts. Overall, a very good house for scares! Side Note- both times I went through, Freddy won! Side Note- I felt weird going through with a Friday the 13th shirt, because I am team Freddy... Monsters and Mayhem was great as well. Some of the coolest scenes I've ever seen. It wasn't nearly as scary as FvJ or Body Collectors, but it was SO much fun to go through. I loved the classic monsters scene SO MUCH! All of the monsters targeted me, and they had some cool scares they could work with. Side Note- I LOVE mirror Jack! Side Note- Forsaken scene was very disorienting for a first time experience with that house. My third favorite house was Insidious! This house was creepy, but not terrifying. I missed alot of scares but saw a bunch of effects. The house also felt pretty long, I guess the weird Hodge-podge of rooms made it feel like it. The masks were very well done, and the scares I did get were very good! Overall a pretty awesome house. Side Note- The room with the moving walls had a creepy gurgling sound and it really creeped me out. Side Note- The room with the bodies in the pews was so creepy. My fourth favorite was actually The Purge! I was so apprehensive about this house. The reviews were so mixed and I didn't want to be disappointed. But my run through had TONS of energy! The house made me oddly sad, because I am such a fan of Scream and walking through and seeing the scenes that could have been felt strange. But, the cast made up for the lazy set re-dressing. I saw the plant as well! Side Note- Seeing the Scream 2 Column scene was great, that would have been an AWESOME room. My fifth favorite house was Asylum In Wonderland 3D! My two run through's of this house were very good. The house wasn't particularly scary, but I loved the cool effects. The costumes were very cool and they worked well with the UV light. One of the best 3D houses I've been in. I also really like the ending scenes back in the asylum, as well as the twist ending to the house. Sixth favorite house had to be Run: Blood Sweat and Fears. I enjoyed this house, but I didn't find it very scary. The sets were okay, but I wish that some scenes could have represented the countries a little more blatently like others do. Like the Japan room had very much of a Japanese theme, while the Egypt room was just one of Hellgate's bathrooms. Both casts were very good with their scares and seemed to have a lot of energy. Side Note- The Japanese mirror scare was very cool. The house that takes my seventh favorite was American Werewolf in London. Don't get me wrong- I love this house, it was my favorite during HHN 23. But it just didn't hold up this year next to all of the other incredible houses. The new wolves were VERY aggressive and large, but the house just felt like seeing an old friend that has changed over the years. I still love this house, I just wish a repeat could have waited a while before happening. My least favorite house had to be The Walking Dead. I really did not like this house. The scareactors tried the best they could, but every place a scare could happen from was either obvious or out in the open. The sets were also kind of boring and repetitive. Season 5 didn't lend much for a house, in my opinion. 1. Body Collectors: Recollections 2. Freddy Vs Jason/Jack Presents: 25 Years of Monsters and Mayhem 3. Insidious 4. The Purge 5. Asylum In Wonderland 3D 6. Run: Blood Sweat and Fears 7. American Werewolf In London 8. The Walking Dead My number one scarezone this year was PsychoScarepy: Unleashed! This zone was great. The props were very fitting and so humorously dark. The thing that made this zone so great was the actors. They had AMAZING interaction! Great zone. My second favorite scarezone was HHN: Icons. I actually really enjoyed this zone. The stages were very nice, and all of the icons were very cool to see as I never came to HHN during their years. Really fun zone. My pick for third was All Night Die In. This zone is so much better when it's not crowded in its location. Both casts are a lot of fun to watch, but I think my personal favorite is the black and white cast. Very cool. Side Note- The selfies in this zone are getting out of hand. My fourth favorite was Scary Tales: Scream Punk! I enjoy this zone a lot. The costumes are pretty neat and the actors seem to really be getting into their roles and space. Special shoutout to the Little Red who came up in my face when i was distracted and yelled "TALES!". My fifth is Evils Roots. This zone was too congested the nights I went. I didn't see many actors, but the ones I did looked great. The stilt scarecrow gave me a good startle. Very atmospheric. The Carnage Returns is GREAT! Just an awesome show. A lot of funny and gory moments. Overall, I really enjoyed this year. As a kind of still fresh HHN fan, seeing beloved houses and characters was very nice. Overall great houses, and awesome scarezones.
  18. Yup! He was out Friday night around 8. I saw him on the end furthest from the stage, but I'm not sure if that's his only area.
  19. 20. My UTH Tour guide confirmed today that the chainsaw IS a GAT... Lot of differing statements here.
  21. I really enjoyed this house tonight! It was very energetic, and we even saw the plant! To be honest seeing the scream sets made me sad, it would have been good...
  22. I think they were talking about The Forsaken
