  1. I think Twenty Years of Fear is perfect-catchy, short, and it rhymes. Explains the year perfectly without being too specific.
  2. I'm really betting on that burnt wood being prop pieces, because what else could it be?
  3. I completely agree with Lyn on the Halloween house as long as we're talking the 1978 version. Personally, I would love to see The Descent made into a house. Dark, creepy caves with weird creatures running around, yeah, that would be amazing.
  4. A bottle of water and maybe snacks. The audition website says bring a head shot, but don't worry about that. Dress comfortably, wear comfy shoes, have fun, relax, and don't worry about it too much. I plan to be there fairly early so I can get in and done fast. Team members, please remember that right now, if you are arriving between 1 and 3, you must park in the overflow lot. The information is on our TM website. This is for reunion and internal auditions only. Everyone else, you may park in applicant parking, or wherever you can find a space.
  5. July 13th is the date of the first open audition-that is, the first date that people who are NOT Universal employees OR returning scareactors can audition.
  6. I wish they searched people better, actually, and of course we need the metal detectors. People try all kinds of crazy shit at HHN, and everyone wold be far less safe without those detectors. At Grad Bash, wallet chains are not allowed, and security is much stricter about what is and isn't allowed in the park. Even hairspray and perfume is confiscated.
  7. Got my sign off today, W00T! As far as middle-aged SAs, well, I'm middle-aged, and so is C_D, my tag out is older than me, and one of our ABUs, who has become a friend of mine, is older than me as well. Yes, most people are in their 20s or 30s, but there are plenty of people over 40 or older. If you fit the body type, you'll be cast, and remember, you can be cast for a mask role. My ABU friend was a zombie on my cast-wearing a mask, but also a short skirt. She happened to be the proper size for the costume. When you audition, there is a space for availability on the audition sheet. Even if you don't fill out anything (and I will probably note 2 days to attend the event), you are given the chance to request days off when you first start rehearsals. Remember to request them right away, because days off requests are usually closed a week or two after the event starts, or at least that's how it was in my area. Remember that they understand the cast wanting to attend as well, so one or two days to do so isn't a big deal.
  8. I never got that email either, and was completely unaware of the reunion audition thing on FB. I RSVPd, however, because I do plan to be there. Only 8 days away! Jeramy, you really should audition; it is the easiest way to get hired at Universal, and you have first dibs on open job postings. I moved from there to special events during Macy's, which is only seasonal, but you should have no problem going to another department. Plus, you can always pick up extra shifts online during the busy seasons. Can't wait to see you all there on July 6!
  9. Can I add one? People who try to scare the scareactors. It isn't funny at all, it's annoying, and can get you thrown out of the house or scarezone, or at least a stern talking-to. And if touching the scareactor is also involved, it can get you kicked out of the park.
  10. I didn't vote because there wasn't a "in certain circumstances" choice. In houses, most definitely no. In SOME scarezones, like my Horrorwood last year, it's ok, within reason. Don't ask for more than one photo, try not to use flash as it is very disrupting even outside, and for heavens sake, don't be rude about it by yelling at the scareactor, or grabbing them for a photo. Quickest way to get ignored. BTW, you can set up for scares during a photo op.
  11. I agree Charles, I don't see the construction tour happening because of insurance regulations. I'd love to know where someone got this idea; it's interesting to see where rumors start.
  12. I highly doubt a parade will ever return; parades need a lot of staff (trust me, I've worked both Mardi Gras and Macy's now, and the staffing requirements are huge), we would not be able to hold decent, if any, scarezones, and the crowd control would be a nightmare. I loved the parade, I miss it, but I feel it's time has come and gone, and that Universal needs to worry about good scarezones, and not the parade.
  13. I would say if you don't turn 18 until August 23, you will need to wait until next year. This past year, they canceled the last one or two auditions because they had hired everyone they needed by last week of July/first week of August. If you already work at Uni, you must have been in your current position for at least 6 months, and your supervisor or manager must sign off on a transfer request for you to audition. Without that transfer request, you won't be allowed to audition. You must also have a certain number of attendance points (I don't know how many). I sure as hell hope my sup/manager will let me audition this year, but considering I work in a seasonal position with a lot of other HHN people, I don't foresee an issue. Just gotta wait until after HP is over before I even ask.
  14. Yeah, Matt, I knew that, because I know someone who has been cast as one.
  15. Some people have been cast for Shrek Alley, but as of last week, that scarezone did not have a name.
