  1. OK kids, I think I've mentioned this in years past, going back to the Vault days, and I'll mention it again. Now is obviously not the time to ask for special HHN merchandise, because they obviously need to have all that stuff set to manufacture and ship at least a couple of months before the event starts. What we need to do, once HHN is over, is start a massive email/letter writing campaign stating exactly what we want and why. Who knows what they'll have this year, but as of last night, no merch was out in the parks yet. If we get hoodies, we need to make damn sure we buy them, and if there aren't hoodies, that's when we start emailing saying what we want. If the other merchandise selection isn't up to par, let them know. A generic hoodie may sell better than a year-specific one, but who knows. I can see it kind of being like he B&T shirts-the only difference between 09 and 10 was the addition of a quote at the bottom of the shirt. The flip-flops and towels make me laugh, because you know what, when you're at the beach, the first thing that comes to mind is HHN.
  2. Still not wanting the cold, yuck, I hate cold almost more than anything else in the world, except screaming children. I hope there are leaves crunching underneath you as you walk the paths through the house, because to me, that always gives a creepy effect, and makes things feel dead and deserted. When I was still living in PA, and too old for trick or treating, I used to rake all the fallen leaves on our long sidewalk, and up the stairs to the front porch for the kids, to give that real fall-ish, Halloween-ish, cool effect.
  3. Let's look at the impracticality of using real snow-snow is cold, wet, and slippery In order for it to stick to the floor, and not melt, the floor and surrounding room would have to be 32F or lower. If the temperature is higher than this, the snow will melt. Keeping it very cold will be most uncomfortable for guests, and mostly, scareactors. Combine extreme cold with the dampness of snow, along with constant exposure to this, is a formula for your scareactors to get very sick. If it's real snow and melting, the floor, scenery, costumes, wigs, masks, and make-up will all be ruined, plus slippery floors will mean guests falling, and lots of injuries. So I say, the snow will NOT be real.
  4. Yeah, I don't remember it being that cold last year either, and that is coming from someone who gets cold when it's below 80, and only wore a light, long-sleeved blouse and loose skirt. Granted, 09 was much hotter overall, but we did have one really cold weekend that year. Last year the temperature was more moderate throughout the entire event. I still think hoodies would sell, and I just don't know what we need to do to get it through Universal's head that they need to increase merchandise offerings.
  5. Thanks, Jeramy, I saw that image on the website or somewhere, and didn't realize they were masks, because they look like stone statues or something.
  6. I am hoping that this scarezone totally rocks, and I sure wish I was going to be working it. I have no idea how this is going to work, but what a cool idea and I can't wait to see it in action. I do know someone working here, so I'll have to ask about it after rehearsals.
  7. I hope it isn't cold, because this poor girl is gonna freeze her ass off! Welcome to my haunting home for the month of October. I love creepy houses, more than boo scares and gore, so it's right up my alley.
  8. Nightmaze will probably have one of the later opening times, like 7:30 or so, for that simple reason. That bundle of junk, and the Gene Kelly poster, appeared overnight, as they were NOT there yesterday. Also, the Central Park area is looking really cool, and I was so happy to see the pumpkins back as I walked around hunting for barricades, etc. I got really excited when I saw that stuff.
  9. Perhaps our 3D house will be like this" Dr Tongue's 3D House of Stewardesses
  10. Don't forget the pool table was in the Butchered Buck in Creatures. If you have looked at the cast list for SS22, what makes you think this would be the Thing house? Do any of those names sound related to the Thing? Do any names anywhere sound related to the Thing? Frankly, I think it's a toss-up where it could be.
  11. The event is based on 21, gambling, casinos, Lady Luck, etc, so I want Guys and Dolls to be produced in the Animal Actors stage. I know it isn't horror, but that show is near and dear to my heart, as it was the musical my school produced when I was a senior, and I was in it.
  12. I think either a Mafia-run casino theme, say taking place in the 50s, or an older, Caribbean, pirate-based theme would be fun. What about Casablanca during WWII? There are many possibilities on where this theme could go.
  13. If this has already been mentioned, please excuse my stupidity, but I don't have a whole lot of free time to read all the speculation. What if Chance is back? Chance-luck-gambling; get it? And why would we need spanish speakers? Is this taking place in Puerto Rico, where there are casinos? And maybe pirates?
  14. When discussing this with a friend, I said exactly the same thing, noting that love could be JFK. Why, it's the Hall of Dead Presidents! My other idea, and mind you, this is tongue in cheek, is that the sprung tent with bug eyes, etc, is that it's an Atlantic City casino house, and bug eyes is the Mafia don running the house. It would include whiny senior citizens gambling away their SS checks at the slot machines, and eating at a lousy buffet with overcooked food. We'd also need some slums and a dirty, seedy beach. Wouldn't it be funny if I was right? TBH, I have absolutely no idea what any of those code names mean. And I think that makes it more fun.
  15. Guys, I really don't think the Storyteller will return, I was only kidding. I don't think we'll see those icons again, and if we do, it will be a long, long time away. I'm ready for a new role.
  16. If that were to be the case, does that mean The Storyteller would return?
  17. I am so totally out of the loop with speculation; I haven't even been on this site in a few months because frankly, I just don't have the time. Maybe one day I'll go back and read all 45 pages of speculation, but as far as what I've heard, it's a big, fat, nothing. NOTHING!! I have no idea what we'll be doing this year, but as usual, I'm really looking forward to it, and already feeling a bit in the Halloween spirit.
  18. If she does, I guess I know what I'll be doing...again. Richard Matheson also wrote that episode of the Twilight Zone, Terror at 20,000 Feet; Duel; and Bid Time Return (Somewhere in Time). Check out his Wiki bio-wow, what an impressive career! Richard Matheson
  19. Hey hey hey, watch what you say about me! jk, The Storyteller really doesn't have an extensive backstory, and I should know. Remember that Universal is, first and foremost, a MOVIE STUDIO, who made a name for themselves in the 30s, 40s, and 50s, and even earlier, in making iconic HORROR movies, so I think it's a given that we will continue to have movie-themed houses from time to time. I'm fine with that, because I think some of the best houses ever done have been movie-themed (The Thing, Dead Silence). I also don't think we will see the old icons again for a very long time, if ever. As I've noted before, the audio in Fear Revealed said as much. Time for fresh blood, so to speak. You all had your chance to see your icons for the last time, and I am ready for new ideas. Beyond that, I'll say, there will be scarezones, houses, alcohol, Bill and Ted, and at least one other show TBD. Just like always.
  20. Well, if I'm a part of it, you can bet the ranch on that one!
  21. The one of Jack scaring that small child is my favorite HHN photo EVER!!!
  22. Mae, I think those pictures of us in the director's seats are from Oct 31, although I'm not sure because we did this more than once. Andrew, even though that wasn't my cast, I am actually crying now from watching that because I miss it so much. I was posted right where my set was today for the Veteran's Day Parade, the first time I'd been in the park since all the decorations came down, and let me tell you, it was really hard not to shed a tear or two upon seeing it in it's "normal" state. What fun times they were; I feel so privileged to have been cast in 2 spectacular scarezones, Horrorwood Die-In and Fear Revealed. I only hope I have the same luck next year, because working a scarezone is one of the most fun things I've ever done.
  23. The family portrait picture is epic, but where are the photos of us in the director's chair watching his movie?
