I deffinetley had a dream that i took a picture with one of these scareactors (the chick in green lol) and that was it...boring terrible dream haha, but i can not wait any longer for Oct. 7th to come!!
-
Technically it wasn't the scareactor touching you, but a prop. And a great deal has changed over the years in terms of what is and isn't allowed in the houses. Hell, during the first few years of the event the scare actors could actually chase you. People got followed into the bathroom, restaurants, gift shops.
Of course, things have changed over the years. Guests became whiney, didn't want to be touched or chased and there went those great elements out the door.
One day people will complain about being scared and every house will just be boring, set up, scenes that depict scariness.
Now that's a nightmare...i would protest until who ever mad that a reality was hung in times square...not really but i would be very very upset, we could implement a flogging though

I'm only 21 and I know H.R. Pufnstuf! Then again I wasn't raised by a bunch of whacked out shut ins.
Also, while I have always dug the creature feature type flicks....I have to admit, I do NOT have high hopes for
this house...Granted I haven't experienced any of the "comedy" houses (only been to carnival of carnage and hhn XX) unless you count zombiegeddon
which I was totally into, but is this one and ones like it just meant
to liven the mood and not take it too seriously, or is there some kind of element that I can't think of that will
actually make this house scary?
i don't think this one will be that great, but to walk through and see weird stuff this is probably top notch, they did one i think last year or the year before,
psychoscarepy-home for the holidays, which was flat out dumb, but it was memorable, and got a couple laughs out of me, but im hoping this is not like this.
i want zombie lincoln fighting a rabid easter bunny or something haha

I'll be there OCT 7th

One of the problems with the sound effect is that it sounds fake. If I remember correctly, they're never as loud as loud as they should be, and they don't sound like actual chainsaw recordings. They could invest in some electric chainsaws. Though, I'm not really aware of the differences between the two types.
the electric ones sound crappy too i got to play with one and i just put it back down because it didnt sound cool haha a whole house of them would sound like power drill hell.

You could probably grab the titles shown on the house image and it'll give you a good base:
The Tell-Tale Heart
The Fall of the House of Usher
The Black Cat
The Raven
and then I'd assume they'd have other tales like:
The Pit and the Pendulum
maybe The Premature Burial? or The Masque of the Red Death?
they have to do masque of the red death they already pretty much have the gear for it from catacombs last year when it comes to costumes ya know and its one of his best pieces and well known, pit and the pendulum i can see as an exit to the house.

The Picture For This House Looks Like The Cover Of The A Day To Remember Album With "Downfall Of Us All" On It! That Caught My Eye Right Away...I think this zone should and will be filled with plant monsters and mythical beasts as well as the guys who shake the cans of change around lol

I think the whole steam punk is dull, i garuntee it'll be one of the jumpiest houses for me because theres gonna be chainsaws and they're loud lol, but the fact that theyre supposed to be "Steam Punk" makes it lose its edge for me. It makes me feel like they're not crazy enough or something...i mean leather face was scary, anybody with a human skin mask is scary and when they sling a chainsaw in my face my heart skips a beat, but if Jerry Only is running around with a chainsaw, whats new? lol...i feel like the whole punk image is so overdone already that it wouldnt suprise me if they were selling chainsaws as jewelry at hot topic and alot of the people i'm friendly with would buy it haha and that causes me to then joke about these "steam punks" in the house and outside of the house and it loses its credibility as a haunted house for me. and they need real saws, sfx last year sound like leaf blowers.

Never been to HHN before, and I haven't been to Universal in years, but I've seen this come up a few times now and just have to ask (inquiring minds, you know...):
Is there something wrong with the Jaws queue? Why is it hot?
In my opinion that's where they put the lameo houses, it sounds to me like i'm not the only one who thinks that lol

4) Nevermore- i personally never read ANY of edgar allan poe. BUT that does not mean i won't be a fan of his work. I am going to read everything i can about his stories. lmfao but does anybody know which stories are in it? I would like to know so i can read them and understand them. as i said i love houses that have a back up so you can be more scared or less.
I would Count on "The Raven", "The Pit and The Pendulum", "The Masque Of The Red Death", "The Murders In Rue Morgue", & "The Haunted Palace"...The 1st 3 are a shoe in and the other two sounded good lol i havent read the last two but i read the 1st 3 in highschool and they would make a badass haunted house if they're put into the right hands of a person with a twisted mind...i'm sure you'll see poe in the house as well reading out loud and being depressed. when i first heard this i was stoked because its going to be thunder, lightning, screams, and slices, it's going to be a great haunted house...if they do it right, i hope its not by jaws, the worst houses are over there...my game plan always hit that one first lol get it out of the way sometimes, made the mistake of saving it and going on the orphanage last year and i was dissappointed...

1) Nevermore: The Madness of Poe
Gothic Style Horror without the loud saws and guns sounds sweet
2) The Forsaken
The Ocean Scares Me as it is-Tie it in with jaws some how and i may need depends
3) The Thing
Hoping its on a sound stage and its not like the thing assimilation
4) Winter's Night: The Haunting of Hawthorn Cemetary
Another One That sounds good and creepy
5) H.R. Bloodengutz Presents Holidays of Horror
Hoping For B-Horror Awesomeness
6) Nightingales: Blood Prey
Not So Up on the war themed houses i think they're lame but this one sounds a little better than havoc given the setting and theme
7) Saws N' Steam
This will only be good if my little bro comes cause he hates chainsaws, i don't really care for them, steam punk will only be cool if johnny ramone and
johnny rotten are sawing sid and nancy in half!
8) The In Between
Sounds like an awsome idea but the 3d houses always are like my first stop cause they're usually lame-o...gotta save the biggest ones for last!
Last Year was a bit of a bummer this year has me more pumped then ever...especially cause i don't have to see that damn old lady reading a book again lol !!

The Hangover 2
Rebecca Black
Katy Perry
Beyonce Being Prego
If they don't do something with rebecca black and the hang over 2 i'll be suprised
other than that i'm out of ideas lol

I haven't really had a moment at hhn that actually scared me to the point where i was legit scared cause it's all in good fun and i shake it off
but there were a couple good jumps! lol
i guess it was in 07 when they did the texas chainsaw maze,
my buddy and i were a little further behind our group coming
through the end with all the sheets on the clothes lines and when we got out
we were laughing and talking about the house and we didnt know right behind us
was leatherface and he started that saw right under my hand and i felt the
heat pumping out of the saw and it was so loud hahaha! he got us good
and thats what makes horror nights the fact that the scare actors pay such
close attention to their surroundings and know who to get at the right times.
another good one was in the dead silence house, i forget what year.
but the mirror at the end of the hall way when she was running towards
you and then out of no where she pops up behind you!
I'm really looking forward to the thing this year and the forsaken!
it looks like alot of good stuff to come this year! and i'll be 21!!
deffinetley hounding those nurses this year for some jello shots lol
Can't Wait OCT 7th!!

so is it wrong to feel bad for the california people during hhn? seems like they always get the throwbacks and the same houses each year...or what am i missing out on? the only thing cool going on there is the curse of talbot hall and house of 1000 corpses
