  1. Oh. My. God. Wet dream. I wasn't expecting much, honestly, but I do like John Cusack and this looks like it might be doing some pretty good justice to the stories. Keep your fingers crossed. Apologize for the detour in subject matter here.
  2. Soooo surprised by this house. I wasn't expecting it to be any good, but it is INTENSE. The sets and actors are awesome, and I love how loud it is. Can't wait to see the movie and compare!
  3. Agreed. I have been through here several times and keep expecting more out of it. I do find myself liking it better more and more...however, I have not been able to find the full backstory for this house, and I feel that if I knew what it was, I would most definitely appreciate it more. The sets here are gorgeous. I love the little details of the creepy little portraits on the outside of some of the graves in one of the rooms. I feel like I see something new every time I go through.
  4. Winning. Do all the Scare Actors get so involved in their role? Great explanation, will definitely be seeing you many times in the coming weeks.
  5. Thank you! I did notice her portrait in the very first room, but didn't realize that was her also in the staircase room. Duh. And thanks to whoever cleared that up about the Spanish Inquisition guy holding the severed Poe head, I see I wasn't the only one with that question.
  6. I have a couple of questions about some of the set pieces in this house. There is at one point, a mummy, a man holding a severed head, and something rotted in a hanging cage. Does anyone know what these pieces are referring to? Also, in the room with the staircase, there is a large portrait of a dark-haired woman, behind which appears a ghostly blonde woman (or at least I think, I've only seen it once or twice). This reminds me of Ligeia, but I'm not sure if that's what it is referring to. I guess this could also be a scene reflecting Poe and the loss of his wife, since there is a ghostly lady in the room as well.
  7. I can't believe Saws n' Steam has the most votes so far! I unfortunately had to rank that as my least favorite house this year. I was expecting much more, and it turned out really to be...nothing. Then again, maybe I just need to see it more. Or I'm missing something?
  8. Agreed. And I know that isn't going to change. :D:D:D
  9. This house is beautiful. It is hands down my favorite, as I knew it would be. I am so glad it lived up to my expectations, which is saying A LOT. I absolutely love that the house is about Poe himself as much as the stories. Having read many of his works, and biographies on him, I think they did a wonderful job portraying Poe and his works. I will be going back and re-reading everything immediately!
