  1. Sophia Stay Here by MPagano, on Flickr I am a little hesitant to bring my DSLR with me, so took this using my iPhone.

  4. While I think the scaractors and staff (especially the ones who had to stand in the heavy rain on Friday night) have done an amazing job this past weekend, I do have one criticism for some of the support staff inside the houses. I realize that they have to be there to make sure guest are not getting out of hand or whatever, but there were some that kept saying move along to almost every guest that walked by. The line in the house was moving at a normal pace, yet some of them kept saying please move along, please move along; it really takes away from the experience. Did anyone else experience this while walking through any of the house?
  5. Do not know if I will be able to make it at 4, I will try though. Are you guys going to be meeting up at any other time throughout the night in the park?
  6. Kind of disappointing to hear how bad EP was, especially in regards to the street experience. I mean I had a feeling it would be not be perfect, but it sounds like this new concept is a complete disaster (or at least in the way they went about implementing it this year.) I know it was just EP, and things are not completely ironed out yet, but do you guys think that there is any way to improve it, or is it kind of too late to save this?
  7. While I normally do not buy the merchandise, I think this year I will make an exception and buy the dog tag and those Silent Hill playing cards. Both products look great, and I know those Silent Hill cards will be a hit at the poker parties I go to.
  8. So glad I found this thread. I was going to have a pre-event drink at Margaritaville, then just get drinks at the drink stands throughout the night. But after hearing the recommendations of Finnegan's, I think I will go there for my alcohol needs. I have walked by the restaurant many times but have never eaten or had a drink there.
  9. While the BK cups might look bland, I was eating at The Burger Digs yesterday and noticed that they had HHN cups with the "Dead Inside" logo on them. I should have taken a photo of it, maybe I will go back tonight and take one.
  10. Really like the graphic on that, might have to buy one. Do you know what the price will be?
  11. As for losings a house this year, it does not really bother me at all. to be honest, Even if there was only four or five houses every year (Not that I am saying I ever hope that they go to that, and if they did they would need to adjust the ticket price and really make those houses amazing), I would still be happy and excited for the event. I grew up with only going through one haunted house a year, and those were not even close to being at the level that HHN houses are, so when I finally got to experience HHN and go through multiple houses at the same event and all for one price, it was an amazing experience. And even though I have been to HHN multiple years, I still feel the same way.
  12. oh, thanks guys for filling me in. That does sound like it would have been a let down, so here is hoping that this year they have ironed out the major kinks with the roaming scare zones that affected 2007 and that this time it turns out to be a much better experience.
  13. I keep hearing people talk about the bad experience that 2007 was, since I did not attend that year, what happened that has made people so disappointed in it and fearing that this year will be the same?
  14. That's right, was at Publix the other day and all the had were the regular coke boxes on the shelves. Have not been to Burger King yet, but do they have their HHN cups and tray liners out already?
  15. What I do not understand is why we have not seen the T.V. or radio ads yet, we have seen a image of it, but not the video yet. Like I said in another thread, by this time last year the ads were playing regularly on all the local channels. We are only three weeks away, you would think that they would really be pushing to drum-up excitement from the general public that the event is almost here.
  16. 1. Welcome to Silent Hill 2. Gothic 3. Dead End 4. The Walking Dead: Dead Inside 5. Universal's House of Horrors 6. Alice Cooper: Welcome To My Nightmare 7. Penn & Teller
  17. The image I was getting when I first heard about this concept was that areas would be stripped of any type of theming and that scareactors would just be randomly walking around the park. But now that I have read the descriptions, I have to say that it has now peaked my interest. And reading that areas are still going to be semi-themed puts my mind at ease. Like I said, to me it was the scarezones and theming outside of the houses, that really made HHN a step above the rest. Since I have not been to Universal in a few week, I think I need to take a drive over there and see what they have put up so far.
  18. Universal has said that this year they will be taking a different direction with the scare zones, "And we’ve got a completely reinvented street experience… They will find you and invade your personal space like never before. There will be no boundaries. The rules of the past will no longer apply. Roaming legions of menacing beasts, vampires, prisoners, warriors and more will inhabit every corner of the park. There is no escape." For myself I kind of have mixed feelings about this, while I think the concept of no where to escape is great, what I loved about the scare zones of the past is that areas seemed like mini houses. The way they were themed and the atmosphere is what drew you into them. I am hoping that there will still be themed areas throughout the park, but from the sound of it, it does not seem like there will be. What are your thoughts on this new concept?
  19. I like the idea of Darkness being the icon, but didn't Universal say that starting with HHN XX that it will be a new era and that they are moving on and won't be reusing past icons? Or was that just about the houses?
  20. One of the things that I look forward to every years and really gets me excited for the event are the T.V. ads. So I am wondering if anyone knows when those are going to be start playing ( I thought by this time last year they were already playing pretty regularly on the local channels), and if anyone has heard any rumors as to what the ads will entail?
  21. Starting this thread as a place to post my HHN photography and photos that are inspired by HHN. Saw this old one room school house while on a trip up in Connecticut, and it just rememinded me of "The Skool" from HHN XV: Tales of Terror. Old School by MPagano, on Flickr
  22. Those are some amazing photographs, specially the Harry Potter ones. I see that you have a Manfrotto tripod, how do you like using it? I am thinking about buying a Manfrotto 055XPROB along with a 322RC2 head.
  23. Just bought my Frequent Fear Plus pass. So I am planning on going opening weekend, then every thursday (27,4,11,18,25) and maybe a few of the Fridays, as well as Halloween night.
