A scene by scene preview for The Little Mermaid Dark Ride as been released

Keep in mind even though this is the one in Disney California Adventure, both rides will be almost identical.. So i felt like this would be the right place.

Inspired by the Dragon Gorge scenic railway at the long-gone Ocean Park amusement zone in Southern California, the new Little Mermaid ride building has a dramatic arch that will feature relief carvings of frolicking mermaids and King Triton. Nautically themed glass work and tile work is designed to blend with the 1920s and ’30s seaside amusement park motif of the surrounding Paradise Pier area.

Inside the building, riders will board pastel-colored, clam-shell-shaped PeopleMover vehicles similar to the Haunted Mansion’s “Doom Buggies.”

**Spoiler Alert** What follows is a scene-by-scene breakdown of the Little Mermaid dark ride:

Scene 1 — The loading area features a panoramic mural with all the main movie characters and a seaside castle.

Scene 2 — Audio-animatronic versions of Sebastian the crab and Scuttle the seagull set up the ride’s back story.

Scene 3 — A blast of cold air and a visual illusion make riders feel as if they are submerging underwater as the clam shell vehicle descends into the heart of the dark ride.

Scene 4 — Riders pass through Ariel’s treasure-lined mermaid grotto with sidekicks Sebastian and Flounder as the song “Part of Your World” plays.

Scene 5 — Sebastian conducts an audio-animatronic orchestra of sea creatures in the ride’s main showroom to the tune of “Under the Sea.”

Scene 6 — In Ursula’s lair, riders pass under menacing rock work as henchmen eels Flotsam and Jetsam lurk nearby during the villainous sea witch’s big diva musical number “Poor Unfortunate Souls.”

Scene 7 — The clam shell vehicle appears to ascend from the ocean depths.

Scene 8 — Ariel and Prince Eric kiss on a rowboat to the strains of “Kiss the Girl” as geysers spout water.

Scene 9 — The spell-breaking kiss drives Ursula mad as “Love’s First Kiss” plays amid gathering storm clouds.

Scene 10 — The “Happily Ever After” finale scene has been kept a closely guarded secret by Walt Disney Imagineers.

Scene 11 — Riders unload as Ariel and Eric stand atop the castle, King Triton salutes them from the water and Sebastian waves goodbye.

I'm so pissed off about this ride. They didn't put in the one scene and animatronic I actually wanted to see: Giant Ursula flashing, screaming and writhing as your clam goes through her stomach (like the ship did in the movie. I was really excited about this until I saw that the only "Ursula Dying" scene and mention is a picture of her on a mural and no ship in sight.

Mankind has always been intrigued by Death.

I must say this is what I'm most excited to see in the new FantasyLand at the Magic Kingdom. Ariel/The Little Mermaid has been of of my favorites Disney characters/movies since I was a little kid. I have really high hopes for this ride and if we get an exact replica from the one in California then I won't complain. Those animatornics look amazing!

From Orlando Sentinel:

Snow White

's Scary Adventures will close forever at Magic Kingdom on May 31,

Walt Disney World

revealed Thursday.

As previously announced, the Fantasyland attraction, an opening-day feature of the theme park in 1971, will be replaced by Princess Fairytale Hall, a meet-and-greet area for

Disney

Princesses and guests.

The closing of Snow White's Scary Adventure is a side effect of the park's expansion of Fantasyland. That construction took over Mickey's Toontown Fair area last year and uprooted the princesses (and some fairies) from their home there.

Disney also announced that the first segment of the Fantasyland expansion — a portion of Storybook Circus — will open to guests in late March. This phase will include one of the two carousels that will make up the enhanced Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride, the rethemed Barnstormer roller coaster (to be called the Great Goofini) and a new Fantasyland Station of the Walt Disney World Railroad, which circles the theme park.

Eventually this area — essentially the old Toontown Fair — will have multicolored circus tents and other nods to Disney's animated

"Dumbo"

film, including the Casey Jr. locomotive.

The Fantasyland expansion also will feature the dark ride called Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, a "Beauty and the Beast"-inspired section and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster. No opening dates have been given for those attractions.
