Houses:

1. Halloween- Michael is my all time favorite slasher villain and can't wait to see him come to life

2. Roanoke: Cannibal Colony- Its an American History mystery. What more can you love?

3. Dollhouse of the Damned- Dolls are creepy, bringing them to life will be insane

4- Giggles & Gore- My first full out clown house, length makes me a bit skeptical but hoping for some awesome interaction in this house.

5- Dracula- Every Vampire/ Dracula house I've been in at HHN has been awesome. I expect more of the same awesomeness.

6- AVP- I feel with the puppets this could be a hit and miss house where you can have great runthroughs one night and a bad one on the next.

7- From Dusk Til Dawn- Have no idea what the show is about. Usually rhese houses surprise me though.

8 Walking Dead- Overdone, can't get into the show, last years house showed potential but I'm ehh about it.

Scarezones:

1. The Purge- I love the movies, especially the most recent, really hoping they bring in Big Daddy from Anarchy..

2- Bayou in Blood- Really cool theme, hasn''t been done during my time attending and am really looking forward to it.

3- Face-Off: Really interesting show, hoping its like the "7" scarezone from a couple years back showing the transformation.

4- Maskerade- Has promise, the stitching part kind of confuses me at the moment but I can't wait to see it in person.

Overall I'm really looking forward to this years event much more so that the last two years.

For the fun of comparing again in September and November ...

Houses

1) AvP - AWiL set a high bar last year, hoping this at least matches it

2) Roanoke - the historical houses are generally strong (Catacombs, Poe, Nightengales), and I've been intrigued by the Lost Colony since I saw In Search Of... as a kid

3) Giggles & Gore - love dark comedy done right; would be #2 but for its reported short length

4) Dollhouse of the Damned - clever concept, but will depend entirely on the execution

5) Dracula Untold - scoff all you want, that trailer made me think this might have potential, especially being in a soundstage

6) FDtD - Demon Cantina may still be my #1 house of all time. Not sure anything can live up to my nostalgia at this point. Also afraid it will be neutered to the point of seeming silly.

7) Halloween - I respect the movie but don't really love it; other than the theme song outside, I fear this will play out as generic slasher in suburbia house

8) TWD - So played out. At least hoping the nail the mega mart scene.

SZs

1) Face Off - hoping they recapture the magic of 7

2) Bayou of Blood - sounds like a lot of detail going into set pieces, should be impressive (if cliched) costumes

3) Maskerade - should be good, but don't see it rising to great

4) Purge - another could be scary, but not something we'll remember 5 years from now

Alright, now that we have (mostly) everything confirmed/announced. I will weigh in with a list of most anticipated to least anticipated houses/ street experiences.

HOUSES:

1)Halloween - After experiencing AWIL and CITW last year and seeing the attention to detail and the love that went into those houses I just know that this one will be great!

2)Roanoke - This one by far intrigues me the most of all the originals this year. Seems like we will get some very uniqe settings/set pieces/ "terrors" from anything seen in the past

3)Alien VS. Predator - The ONLY reason this is so high is that creative is telling the story their way. Not having to stay loyal to those mediocre (at their best) movies will help a lot with this one I think

4)Dollhouse of the Damed - Again, really interested to see how this premise plays out. I love the description on the Universal Blog.

5)Giggles and Gore - Clowns man! Also, although I agree with a lot of folks that gore is what primarily draws me to horror..I think when done right it can be really good over-the-top fun. That's what I am hoping for with this one.

6)Dracula Untold - Honestly, I don't really know enough about this IP (other than what I have seen in trailers) to be as excited as I am for some of the other mazes this year..I know I know..I really only have a paragraph to go on for the original mazes..but I have much more faith in creative when it comes to original houses

7)The Walking Dead - I don't hate TWD as much as some folks on here do but I am certainly burned out where HHN is concerned. I still love the show but I long for next year when we have a whole different house in place of TWD

8) From Dusk Til Dawn - Love the movie, show is pretty cool.. That being said I am just not that excited for this one for whatever reason. Hopefully the event will change my mind.

SCARE ZONES:

1)Maskerade - This one sounds really really fun...and gory..and FUN!

2)Bayou of Blood - This could be one of the best scare zones ever from the description. Just a little wary on the execution (pardon the pun) of this one

3)The Purge Anarachy - Sounds like a cool idea but I am fairly ignorant of the IP. I know the basic premise and that is all. I need to watch the films before I go so I can appreciate it more

4)Face Off - Again, this may be one that surprises me but it seems like more mutual back scratching on the part of HHN and SYFY at this point. I like my scare zones to have a little more story I guess.

It will be fun to see how my list of expectations here compares to my house rankings once I attend the event (something I always do for fun). I also tend to re-rank the houses midway through the event once they have tweaked some special effects, the actors have better timing, etc.

Houses:

  1. AvP - I don't care about a potential lack of scares...I'll be looking at the eye candy and entranced so any loud noise will startle me! Dream come true!
  2. Giggles - Sorta Killer Klowns. Sorta 3D (even if i have to bring old glasses). Sorta humor house. Plus clowns are SCARY!
  3. Halloween - From a scares perspective, probably my most anticipated....but I was burned from my hype of the Freddy, Jason, Leatherface trifecta and felt all 3 were letdowns. So reigning in my anticipation for this one. Hope to be pleasantly surprised.
  4. Dollhouse - Just freaky. Will probably end up being my favorite house when it's all said and done...but middle of the road with limited information thus far.
  5. Walking Dead - LOVE the show and didn't go to HHN last year...so think this will be fresher for me than most, and twice the size. Have high hopes for this one.
  6. Roanoke - Don't know what to think...could be my favorite, or the worst.
  7. Dracula - The movie won't be out when I go and I pretty much never plan on seeing it...so it's basically an original house for me. Has potential, but the trailer really soured me.
  8. Dusk Til Dawn - LOVED the movie...but been there, done that. Never watched the TV show. Could be a pleasant surprise, but by far my least anticipated house.

Zones:

  1. Face/Off - Never saw the show, but that pumpkin head reminds me of my second favorite scareactor (IOA Cammo Rockman is my all time fav).
  2. Maskerade - Just sounds awesome.
  3. Bayou - No real opinion could easily move up or down my post-event ratings.
  4. Purge - I think I'll love this... but it will be deja vu all over again. Will surely enjoy it, but doesn't have much of a "Wow Factor".

Houses:

1. Roanoke - The setting intrigues me and I expect something along the lines of Nightingale's which was awesome.

2. Dollhouse of the Damned - I have heard this might be the dark horse house of the year so my anticipation is up.

3. Alien vs. Predator - If done well, this could be amazing.

4. Halloween - The close quarters of a tent will make this feel just like the movie.

5. Giggles and Gore - Though it is supposed to be short, my friend is terrified of clowns so I cannot wait to see her go through this one.

6. Dracula Untold - This one edges out FDTD because I imagine it will be more period-centric and I have no idea what to expect so I will most likely get scared in here

7. From Dusk Til Dawn - I like the movie and what I have seen of the show, but the above houses just sound better or seem more likely to catch me off guard.

8. The Walking Dead - It's a megahouse based on what I have been told is a pretty cool season so this should be fun. Also, like Dracula I have not seen this season so they have the advantage of the unexpected when it comes to scaring me (which they did not have last year).

Scarezones:

1. MASKerade: Unstitched - Sounds wonderfully and beautifully twisted which makes me think of the costume designs for 7.

2. The Purge: Anarchy - Big scarezones, motorcycles, and creepy masks. Nuff said.

3. Bayou of Blood - This could be a cool performance zone or a great scarezone.

4. Face Off: In the Flesh - Not a bad sounding zone, but the other stuff just sounds more interesting.

My list as of now

Houses

1. AvP: Xenomorph Puppets, Predators, Face huggers, colonial marines/scientists, maybe the predalien or the alien queen, plus the house being based on what seems to be the AvP video game for Xbox 360 and an original plot line makes me majorly excited

2. Halloween: You're lying to yourself if your not even the slightest bit excited for this

3. Roanoke: Cannibal Colony: I like the premise, historical houses are always cool especially if it is in a similar vein that many of the house from 21 were in. Plus after watching Hannibal how can you not be pumped to see what they do with the Wendigo lore.

4. From Dusk Till Dawn: No matter how unpopular this may be with fans atm, I am a die hard fan of the film and i enjoyed binge watching the show, should be a super funmaze to go through with plenty of gore, sexy vampires, and hopefully sex machines cock gun.

5. Dracula Untold: Reign In Blood: Love classic gothic style houses, can't wait to see if they use bat actors in the air similar to how they did in gothic. Really looking forward to seeing the impaled and dracs castle.

6. Doll House of The Damned: Looks interesting, hoping for a good bit of gore and maybe a small cameo from little cindy cane.

7. The Walking Dead: End of The Line: Mega house sounds cool and looking forward to hopefully seeing a zombified Governor, only concern is the house may get a bit boring with it being super long

8. Giggles & Gore Inc.: Not really that excited for this, been in my fair share of clown houses and this one does not even peak my interest except with the possibility for a Jack Cameo. Also my main reason for not liking the house isn't as much the size of the house or the content but merely that the disaster que has had some of the worst houses in it over the past few years and that the lines are always a bitch.

Scarezones:

1. The Purge: Hate the movies with a passion but this should be an excellent scarezone and I am looking forward to seeing The blonde guy from the first purge, the renegade kidnappers and big daddy from the purge two. Should be lots of fun.

2. Bayou of Blood: After seeing the voodoo queen at HOS last year I am even more excited to see universals take on it and more voodoo lore, plus a cool shack and a sacrifice. Whats not to like!!

3. Face Off: In The Flesh: Looks promising and i'm looking forward to all the varied scenes inside the zone. Should be the best use of the hollywood area in quite sometime.

4. MASKerade: Unstitched: Nothing interests me in the slightest about this, zone has a lot to prove to me, would have rather had the purge scarezone extend from New York all the way down to the gate and than put this towards the back of the park so i could avoid it easier if i don't enjoy the zone.
