LucasKLeeEsq Posted September 19, 2012 Share Posted September 19, 2012 Heres my review of this year's show. THE BEST. THAT I HAVE SEEN. IN THE PAST 5 YEARS. AND ITS ONLY EMPLOYEE PREVIEW. Last year, I loved the show, but EP was kind of lame. So I went into the show expecting to be not as cool as it would be. BUT WOW! I WAS SHOCKED! It had GREAT writing, and there were more references to the Bill & Ted series themselves!!! The finale BLEW ME AWAY! There was definitely more pyro this year which made me SOOO happy cause I missed that last year. Their choice for the villain was great, VERY unexpected but GREAT choice! If you've been a fan of the show, you'll also see some references to previous years which were great. The music choices for the opening and finale were great. Oh, and I almost forgot. NO ONE. and I mean NO ONE left the theatre early this year! I went to the first and last showing (there were 3), and I did not see anyone leave in the middle of the show! I always thought it was a fun show, but I felt like the writing fell flat and had a LOT of potential of being good. Cause lots of things came as a surprise to me and made it all the better. The writing was spectacular and it actually has a really good storyline this year! and finale... oh god. hahaha. I can't wait for other people's reviews once opening weekend hits. Oh, and be sure to watch both Bill & Ted's Excellent adventure and Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey before seeing this year's show. Sorry to say I felt this years show as of opening night was terrible... and that's giving it every chance possibly being completely wasted! It was so boring my group and I only watched it 1 time tonight. I only remember the opening Universal 100 years monster mash up. Magic Mike. and The Final dancing for no reason. The 35 minutes between that have a Hunger games storyline and cant remember much of it. I hope the show changes drastically by next week. We shall see. Songs I remember from the end: Call me Maybe - Why didn't that slut get shot? One Direction: That's what makes you beautiful. It ends pretty quick.. as soon as I said that was it?! a Rock of Ages finale starts.. glad to have pyro back but nothing compared to 2010... Batman vs. Bane vs. Siri, Bieber in the closet, Herbert, Gangham Style, a good "that's what she said" joke, and tons of BILL and TED, like we've been begging for. Here's my thing, I hate that pop stuff too, but I get that songs like "Call Me Maybe" was the number one hit this summer (shoot me now)... so, it is what it is. I was completely wasted yesterday so it was like watching a different show tonight where I was just happily buzzed.. Anyway I guess in my near black out state all I cared about was the finale music choices cause they are not the greatest.. madonna.. really? and Rock of Ages? It'll all grow on me There is a good 10 minutes they can loose.. basically all of Fozie bear and the campaign/book of morman is not very funny. It clocked in at 48 minutes long. WAY TO LONG! Bill and Ted would be a perfect 30 minute show, why they keep us in there an extra 15 minutes every show each year is beyond me.. Still don't think it's even close to as good as 2010's show but maybe as good as last year by next week. I'll be back next week can't wait to see what, if anything changes. The Magic Mike was just way too long. And did this show seem more for girls than guys this year? Unlike hollywoodbrandon, I actually liked the ending music a lot. In my opinion, it's way better than the mainstream pop they usually use throughout the whole show. I didn't even know there were references to other things 'cause I haven't seen those other things. So, I guess that made it better for me. It was funny for sure. I'll write a more detailed review if I see it again next week or the next time I go. This is themed to be Frankenstein-ish and during this segment, they pay ode to the classic Uni monsters The closing pop number has: One Direction - That's What Makes You Beautiful Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe Madonna - Can't remember the name of it but it features MIA and was performed at the Super Bowl earlier this year Fun - We Are Young (very brief and I think remixed) Some Usher song, can't remember specifically And maybe one or two other songs. I've already seen it 15 times!!! First off, the fact they have a pre-show now makes it awesome and easier to attract people to the show! Now, the villain, SOOO HAPPY!! The Grim Reaper is back after the crazy events of Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey! and he's pissed (probably cause they kicked his ass at Battleship, Twister, Clue, and other various board games). and on top of that, they had the rock finale! Which made it so much more like a legit Bill & Ted show! The writing was so kickass, I actually laughed at, and understood every joke this year (except the Game of Thrones jokes I didn't get.) for the first time, cause I mean, other shows had those parts where it was like really? buh, this year was fantastic! My favorite part was the part with Batman, and the banana part, had me laughing so hard. and when Snooki throws her baby across the theater and Jwoww fights with it. I loved the way the started the finale with We Are Young by Fun and that super awesome ROCK FINALE!!!! I can't get over how awesome that was! and the pyro!!!! WOW!!! Spectacular finale. Honestly, I could talk about the show forever, buh ima end it here. I've been seeing the show since 2007 buh I gotta say that this year is definitely my favorite.
