Yep, I was going to try and make a run for it this Friday but looks like I won't make it this year since its sold out that night, probably a good thing, I don't know if I would be able to handle it without using the safety word from the spoilers I have read so far

Ok, well the Haunt season isn't quite over, but the tickets for Alone are all sold out now, so I figure that it's not going to hurt to post my full recount/review of the house now. I must warn you all that I'm a very word writer, this is copy and paste from a PM that I originally sent to another member, and that this was written probably around 1 AM in the morning so there may be spelling/grammatical errors and whatnot.

I'm prior service myself, and a lot of this I reacted to very well because a lot of it is literally "in your face" yelling...they're directly in your face, spit flying at you in some occasions. It's insane, and had I not had my military experience I may have lost myself.

At the gate there's a security guard "Sam" I had, though I know that they switch shifts ever so often. I have some pictures of him, and after that is all away from the publics eye. When you come up to the gate you turn in your coupon, and they give you a plastic finger. You wait in line for Sam to call you in. When I got to the front of the line a nice lady told me that the safe word was "Goldfish" and took my finger. Sam is a GREAT actor. Took lots and lots of verbal abuse, but stood there with these bitchin' sunglasses just glaring everyone down. I'm guessing that he's a veteran, because he had amazing military bearing. When it was time for me to enter, he walked to me extremely slowly...I backed up a bit but he kept coming until finally I forced myself to stop. He got right in my face and said "Let's go." he walked slowly to the gate, opened it up and motioned me forward. As I walked by he leaned over and said in a quiet, but very fierce voice "Do not. Touch. ANYTHING." I said "Yes, sir." and continued on very slowly. I went along this eerily lighted walkway amongst many plants and barrels with lights in them to make it appear as if they're burning. I then remembered that the past few guests he took in, he followed them for a while, around the same time I hear him SLAM onto a barrel and shout "MOVE! MOVE!" and I instinctively begin running.

I keep going until I approach this porch like thing with this very very large man wearing overalls and a bib. There's a table with a single chair, and on the table there are spilled over jars of baby food, an old boombox, and a lunchbox with the "MyX" Sylvie on it. The man spoke to me as if he was retarded "huh huh huh....hi! huh huh huh "(It's hard to describe in words the voice that he was using) and I said "Hi! Do I keep going this way?" and I continue to walk slowly, but he blocks me off. He does this quite creepy laugh, and then all of a sudden drops the retarded act and says "SIT DOWN!" and I immediately sit. He then goes back to the "retard" act and says "listen" and hits the play button. It's a recorded message from Alexander Daedalus himself. I don't remember all of it, but basically I was being told that this is a rare opportunity for me to discover the cultural items that he has in his storage, and that I will be an extremely educated man after witnessing the things that he possesses....if I survive. If I don't survive, then I will become a part of the collection. I am told that there is an elevator that will take me deep into the bowels of my deepest fears or something to that extent, and that I must take it down. The tape stops, and the man baby beckons for me to come over to a door....I walk up to the door, turn to him and say "Bye!" he does the laugh and says "bye bye" and slams the door behind me.

I walk down this very creepy and dark hallway for a few twists and turns, and then come across the bellhop standing in front of the elevator. He's wearing a quite tattered outfit, covered in medals, and his eyes are gouged out. "Ah, another one of the master's collection has arrived. Follow me." we go into the elevator, which honestly felt like a real elevator. When it finally hit the bottom, he says "You're on your own now." I opened the doors, rounded a corner, and there was the lady stuck up high on the wall. "You! You there! We've been expecting you! Don't trust ANYBODY! Listen to me, and you'll get out of here safe, understand?" "Yes ma'am!" I responded. Then she says "Good. Remember, do NOT touch anything. Are you ready to enter?" "Yes" I respond. "Good" as the sheets below her open up and two scareactors charge at me, getting in my face screaming for me to go. I sprint towards the doorway that turns into a hallway, as a man with the two blades comes running through, scraping and banging against the walls.

He gets directly in my face and explains to me that if I touch anything, that whatever I touched those things with will belong to him. He then all of a sudden puts on a happy voice and says "I hope that you enjoy your stay." I walk on to the end of the hallway, and just as I'm about to exit he reappears next to me, bangs on the wall and shouts "HURRY UP!" I enter into a very large room with a very friendly female. I can't remember her name, but she used my name quite a lot after we introduced ourselves to each other. I stand next to a shelf and she insists on measuring me, to decide on how big to make the shelf for me. At that moment somebody pops out of a shelf and shouts "HEY!" I jump, and the guide says "Oh, that's just Tina. Don't be rude, introduce yourself!" So I introduced myself to her, and the guide lady says "That's more like it" and Tina states "Yes, be sure to be courteous or you'll end up just like me." She continues to use my name, and leads me through many of the artifacts and then says "Go out this door, to that door, open it up, and turn right!" I say "Ok" and walk to the door, and notice that her door closed behind me.

Well, the only thing that I could do was continue on, so I went to the door, opened it, and there was a brick wall behind it. Shit. I turn around, and there is already a scareactor in my face screaming "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT FOR?!" "What, what did I do?" "You touched it! You touched it! You are in soooo much trouble! Why'd you touch it?" "Um, she told me to continue on this way...." "You trusted that BITCH?! Follow me!" and he leads me into this room with a large cage with some twists and turns, and I notice that there are three men in the cage breathing quite heavily and laughing at each other. The man says "Don't worry, I'll get you out of this mess." and we walk into the cage, he then bolts out, and slams the door behind me. "Sorry, but this is what the master wants me to do." Oh. SHIT. The three men get in my face, and begin screaming about how I"m one of them now, and they begin forcing me to move around the cage, and end up backing me into a corner. They're all screaming in my face, and one backs up and leaves out of a door that he just opened... I try to follow, but the other two don't let me, and they end up harassing me for a good few minutes until I hear a voice, and then the man who stepped outside of the cage says "The master would like to see you now." The two that were all over me backed off saying "The master....the master....." and they motion me to a doorway.

I go through the doorway, and notice these two people dressed up in these doctor's outfits working on what seem to be giant rats, with quite realistic gore. As soon as I walk in, they begin sniffing in my direction. I was confused for a minute, wondering why they were just sniffing at me and not rushing at me or anything...and then it dawned on me. They have no eyes. One of them said "I smell a visitor. I smell his fear." I decided to be sneaky, and walk very quietly to the other end of the room....then "DON'T DO IT! IT'S A TRAP! DON'T GO!" Holy SHIT, there's a man hanging on the wall!! One of the doctors pull out a REAL taser and start crackling it, and say "SILENCE, YOU!" and slam it into his body...now I'm sure that the taser turned off when they hit him with it, but that wasn't going through my mind at the time, as these electricity sound effects began going off, and lights began flashing everywhere. I freaked out and bolted into the next room.

Immediately there was this lady holding an urn there to greet me. "Welcome! This is where the master keeps all of his most prized possessions" she exclaims in a very happy voice. "I'll lead you to him, but first let me show you his most favorite items...." she's saying this as she spins the urn around in her hands, occasionally throwing it up in the air a bit. The only prized possession that I remember is "Riley" the cat, which was a cat skeleton mounted up. "This was the master's favorite pet cat, Riley" she told me "he died about fifteen years ago, and the master was so distraught that he kept Riley. Sometimes he comes back here and still pets Riley!" she begins playing with the skeleton's jaw, and then says motions to the urn that she's holding "And this.." she spins it in my face "is the masters MOST prized possession of all" she lowered her voice "Even more precious than Riley...and you can't touch it. And I can't touch it. But don't worry! The master won't know if you don't rat me out!" she then sets it down, and then does the unspeakable....she knocks it off of the table, and a loud shattering noise is heard.

Two large guards wearing quite creepy masks and umpire like chest pads come rushing in, as she shrieks "LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" I stammer "What?! It was you!" but the guards both ran at me until I was forced against a wall, and began shouting "Why did you do that?! You aren't supposed to touch! You're trash! You're pathetic! Come with us!" and one got in front, and one behind me and they escorted me to Professor Alexander Daedalus himself, sitting on a quite high throne. "SIT DOWN, NOW" they say, pointing to a bench in the middle of the throne room. I oblige. They both stand on the sides of me ensuring that I can't run anywhere. The Master begins to speak. "I invite you into my home, trusting you, trying to enrich your mind with the treasures that I hold, and THIS is how you repay me?" Silence. "Do you KNOW what was in that vase that you broke? That was my lost SON. You are not worth the ground that you STAND ON. You shall now become part of my collection." Ohhhhhhh shiiiiiit. He jumps down from his throne onto a box which is still a few feet off of the ground, and shouts "YOU ARE TRASH!" as the bench starts vibrating....ummmm....uh oh....and a minotaur comes from behind the throne with a chainsaw way over his head, and he comes running at me! At this point in time pictures are taken of me (which could be purchased for $20 bucks, which I wasn't willing to spend) and the minotaur charges me as I freeze up. He stands next to me revving the saw and I'm just frozen, leaning back thinking of how to get out, but there was no escape....

At this point the master jumps down from the box and gets right in my face, and screams "I WILL LET YOU LIVE. YOU DO NOT HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO BECOME PART OF MY COLLECTION." the minotaur backs off, and the guards move over to this storm grate type thing built into the wall, the type used in old dungeons that was just barely big enough for one to crawl through had the bars not been there. "The only way out is to CRAWL. Now get on your knees. DO IT." I quickly drop to me knees and make my way to the grate, only to discover that the entire thing opens up into a door. They begin laughing maniacally. "YOU ARE PATHETIC. LEAVE NOW." I look back at them, smile, and go. On the way out there's a stack of TV sets, each with one picture that was taken of me...but I was so freaked out that i didn't even look at them. I continued on, grabbed my coupon, and walked out. I was free. I redeemed my coupon for my T-Shirt, but was a bit disappointed to learn that all there was was large extra large and 2x. Oh well. I was informed that I was one of only about 30 that went through completely alone. Most others go through in groups. I viewed my pictures at the computer, and decided that I didn't want to spend 20 bucks for something that I surely won't forget any time soon, and made my way to the rest of the park. I could not get my mind off of it, and every house I went through made me think of it even more. It was an amazing event, and had they not sold out that night I would have bought another ticket and gone through again. It was just that good.

I give it 10 out of 5. Just simply...amazing. I hope that Universal ends up doing this in the future, though I will always come back to Howl O Scream because of the sheer awesomeness of their event including this house. Everything else at the event was great, and though the sets were lacking in the other haunted houses, the scares were on par with HHN. If you'd like to meet up and talk about it in person, let me know, I'm coming as many frequent fear pass days as I can..that is if you have a frequent fear pass and you're showing up any more this year. And again, please PLEASE do not leak this. I'm sending this to you with the knowledge that it's likely that it may get leaked, and I fully understand and accept that it may get out there, but a part of the appeal to this was the general lack of knowledge around it. I don't care if you talk about it to friends or anything like that, but please just keep the details off of the internet until the end of the haunt season.

Did Alone yesterday night alone and all I can say is you feel like you are in your own horror movie. This is the best haunted house I have ever been in and was just amazing. I hope they will have this from now on in Howl O Screams future. But of course it needs to be changed every year.

I loved ALONE, I am hard to scare so was it scary not to me, But was it Amazing Yes, the effects and the actors do a great JOB..It was well done and they did a great job interacting. You honestly didn't know what was going to happen next and you couldn't even trust your own eyes...I say we will see other parks do this now that Busch did it right and made it work,,,Sell Outs faster next year I bet..

That really brought me back. They were different actors, and they said different things (no two experiences are the same I guess) but I was able to close my eyes and imagine myself back there, again. I really hope that they bring it back, or at least a different iteration of it.

Due to it being like an "extreme" house they are going to be allowed to touch you so you have to sign for liability. When you go through it you get a glow stick and if the experience is too much for you, then you just break the glow stick and hold it in the air and they escort you out.

Anyone else hear anything about this house, I'm pretty excited for it and don't think the 25$ for it is terrible (like buying an exclusive shirt)

sorry but that wasn't true, they weren't allowed to touch you and they never gave you a glow stick. you had to say "goldfish" then they'd escort you out. And the liability was just so they know its really you comming

My experience thorough alone:

I was shaking and really tense, and sam approched me wearing his glasses getting right in my face, and he said "you scared boy" and i said in a shaking voice: n.. no sir.. im in jrotc im not afraid of anything.." and he smirked a little and said in a chilling voice " oh really, is that why your assuming the position" then continued by asking me a question "did they teach you to conquer your fears? because in here there are things that would scare you and make you go home crying to your momma" and i stared at him saying "im not afraid" and he kept staring at me then whispered in my ear
"just say the word and you can turn around right now"... "goldfish" "goldfish"... "goldfish" then i told him im not going to say it. then he gave me one last stare down and said very well and then opened the gate to let me in so i walked forward then he puts his bulky arm up to the gate and said "don't... touch... ANYTHING!! and slammed his can of gas on one of the barrels(which scared my ex) so i walked down the dimely lit passageway hearing eerie music (cats howling, owls cooing etc..)then i see the man who acts like a baby bitting his nails and smiling at me.. then he points at the chair(so i sit down) and he says "why are you so tense"? then i smiled and he smiled back and said you gotta ease up a bit and he started making hand gestures of up and down ( dont ask ne why haha) then he plays the tape recording of the master Alexander Daedalus himself. and right after the part "The game is on!!" he shuts off the tape and gestures me to enter the door, as i walk through the door he waits for a little and then slams the door shut. (which made me jump)

Because I visited from CA, I purchased two entries into Alone for the same night (I'm not travelling that far without seeing it twice). The message with the spoiler above is 99% dead on. There was one INCREDIBLE effect that I'm surprised he forgot to mention.

After the door is slammed behind you and as you are walking down the long hallway toward the elevator, didn't you notice that the hallway seemed to just go on and on? The reason was that it was a stretching hallway. As you walked along it, the walls and doorway at the end were on rollers. Techs would silently roll the far end away as you were walking toward it. The effect is that you walked about 50' along a 25' hallway. I was blown away by that the first time I went through. The second time, I watch more carefully to see how they pulled off the effect.

You also have to hand it to the stellar cast. Take, for example, the lady who breaks the vase. She recognized me the second time I went through and had to think on the fly - the exact same spiel wouldn't be very interesting. Instead of Reily the cat (who was nowhere to be found), she introduced me to the master's pet snake. I asked her about Reily the cat, and she said that Reily had died and been cremated. She still had to break a vase though, since the room was wired for that effect. So she pointed out how the vase she was now holding was the Master's SECOND favorite posession (and contained Reily's ashes), and how some naughty boy had already destroyed the Masters favorite item, but he was now part of the Master's collection. The Master also played right along with the ad-hoc storyline, mentioning that I had broken the vase containing his beloved cat.

Even though he was one of my favorite scareactors of the evening, the one that did NOT keep in character the 2nd time around was the man in the overalls who plays the recording. In fact, he recognized me and went to his real life mode, asking where I was from, etc. He thought that because I was going in a second time, maybe I was a reporter or something. I didn't mind this, but he did severely break character, which was poor form. He could have ad-libbed something great.

It was very fun with the second time through with Sam, though. Having done plenty of scaracting myself, we had a 12-minute staredown. He took off his glasses and neither one of us blinked for the whole time. We were nose to nose and circled each other very slowly. It freaked many prople out in line behind me.

I just reread my account of Alone, and can't believe I left out the hallway either! As I said I typed that in a PM at like 1AM, and I never went back to double check anything. I tried to explain it with "door that turned into a hallway" but obviously my brain wasn't functioning very well the night that I typed that out haha.

In retrospect, I wish that I would have messed around with Sam more. He was seriously awesome. A staring contest would have been great. As I said, his military bearing was simply superb. I wish I could figure out who he really is and figure out where he served, or if maybe he's just a damn good actor....if he hasn't served then I'd be very surprised, as well as impressed.

Aha! I DID mention the Hallway to the guy that I typed that review for, so I didn't include it in the big review. I never looked over it again, and didn't catch myself. Damn! So many people didn't get to read about the hallway lol.

There are only two effects that I can think of that may be what they're talking about. One being the "elevator" that you take into the "bowels of the earth" with an eyeless bellhop type guy. While you really aren't going down, the thing rattles and shakes and light passes through the windows to make it really appear that you're going down. The other effect, which is EXTREMELY impressive, is an expanding hallway. After disembarking from the elevator and being told that you're "on your own" you come up to this lady stuck really high up on the wall....everything is covered in sheets, and all you see is her head. She talks to you for a while, then two people pop out from beneath her, and charge you....get in your face, scream at you to move move move, and you pass under the lady and there's a doorway...which all of a sudden starts moving at a very fast pace away from you, and a hallway "forms" around it. A man with two blades comes through the door and hits the walls with the blades, then lets them drag along the still expanding hallway. Once it's done expanding he runs up to you while still dragging the blades, and hits them again, and gets in your face explaining that if you touch ANYTHING he will remove your hands, and chop every little piece off of your body and put it into the collection. Then he says in a cheery voice "I really hope that you enjoy your stay."

I can go into more detail if you'd like, but those are probably the biggest effects, though not the only. The rest are kinda minor, and the rest of the immense awesomeness of the house comes from the scareactors and timing.

Wow, the more I read about this the more I wish i'd have made it out to HOS last year. I've never been to HOS, even though this'll be my tenth year at HHN. Heck I haven't been to Busch Gardens in more than a decade, guess I need to plan a trip

Last year, my party of four including myself experienced Alone. My best friend and I were extremely scared and they managed to figure out her our names so throughout the entire experience they separated us and it got to the point that I was nearly in tears I was so scared haha. Overall though, it was definitely worth it and I honestly hope that they bring it back this year!!!
