It’s getting closer until we can once again smell the smell of fog machines and hear the revving of chainsaws at Halloween Horror Nights!… The most wonderful time of the year! Halloween Horror Nights will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and it’s going to be bigger than ever with 9 mazes, 5 scare-zones, and 2 shows!
I first attended Halloween Horror Nights back in 2004, when both parks, Islands of Adventure and The Studios were utilized for the event for the first time. I did not know what to expect as the quality of the houses were amazing and atmosphere was on point. During that year, I was introduced to the Horror Nights Icons that we all came to love in the Horror Nights Nightmares maze. As the years went on, Halloween Horror Nights kept getting better and better as we were getting the best original creative mazes. By the time the year 2010 crept upon us, it was going to be a farewell year to all of our beloved icons. It was also interpreted that year that we would not be getting any more iconic characters in the future and I felt somewhat disappointed.
As the years went by, the event kind of lost the ability to have an icon and an over arching theme. However, it did not affect the quality of the mazes, scare-zones, and shows. By the time 2015 gets here, it was recently announced that Jack The Clown (My Favorite HHN Icon) would be returning to Halloween Horror Nights once again. I was ecstatic! The new logo with Jack The Clown makes the event feel like somewhat like the old days when we had an over arching theme.
With the supposed leaked HHN 25 maze and scare-zone list I was a bit skeptical about it, but I’m going to take it with a grain of salt for now until Universal officially reveals the content. I’m really looking forward to attending this year to see what Halloween Horror Nights has in store for us!
