This past week Universal Orlando Resort revealed all that will be Halloween Horror Nights 22!
All the speculation ended when the reveal happened around midnight going into August 30th. Universal revealed four houses along side Universal Studios Hollywood leading up to this night, so we were left with three houses, streets and shows. The build-up to the reveal was nothing like years past, the teaser website wasn’t as interactive or appealing and even left fans wondering if we were going to get an actual reveal (maybe those website survey’s changed this). Earlier in the day a update was posted on the Halloween Horror Nights 22 facebook page letting the fans know that we were going to see what they had planned for Halloween Horror Nights 22 before anyone else (meaning the website update).
All us crazy fans gathered in chats, forums, and even did some podcasts waiting for the big reveal to happen. Midnight hit, and we had it! Logos posted to the Halloween Horror Nights 22 facebook page! The website update came later that same day, but still didn’t have that feel like years past. No real story line, no icon and no interactivity, just what we needed to know and that was it! Is it safe to say we miss Ray Keim?
Now that we’ve had a few days to let things settle and discuss the event with other fans via our forums it seemed there was a lot of negative things being said about the event. Only 7 houses? Prices went up? No icon? No elaborate scare-zones? All that construction? That’s the website? Is Hollywood and Marketing running the show? What happened to Entertainment? Is this still Orlando? What happened to “The Walkers” for Street Experiences? .. the list goes on!
But you know what? This is still Halloween Horror Nights, it’s tough to be negative on an event that hasn’t happened yet. We need to give this a chance and experience it before we just say “it sucks”. I know I’m going and I’m looking forward to the Street Experiences and how it all plays out! Enjoy it for what it is, a great Halloween event!
Halloween Horror Nights 22 House Line-Up
There is strength in numbers and you must band together to make it through many of the iconic settings made famous by the critically-acclaimed AMC hit television series, The Walking Dead. As the city is crawling with hordes of “walkers,” the issue of your becoming one of them is not a question of if, but when.
In the eerie and desolate town of Silent Hill, ash falls from the sky and the physical laws of nature no longer apply. If you dare to venture into this alternate dimension, there is only one law of nature with which you must concern yourself: survival.
World-renowned magicians Penn and Teller have accidentally nuked Las Vegas, but don’t worry, it’s nothing a fresh coat of paint and a truckload of BS can’t fix! Come on down to New Vegas, where all that glitters isn’t gold, and in fact probably has fatal levels of radioactivity.
Journey into legendary rocker Alice Cooper’s twisted mind and witness the natural melding of horror and Cooper’s four decades-long career. Here you will follow Steven, the iconic character from many of Cooper’s works, as you come face to face with a myriad of tormentors who threaten an already-decaying sense of sanity.
This is no remake. No sequel.
These are the original icons of fear in blinding black and white. In here, lightning slashes through the darkness to reveal terror’s true faces. They’ve been waiting to take back what is theirs…and their time is now!
The Catedral de Caementum Animus is, by day, undergoing a building-wide architectural refurbishment. By night, the many stone gargoyles that keep watchful eye over the sanctuary come to life with the mission of protecting this sacred place against any intrusion.
If enough people believe in something, perception can become reality. In Carey, Ohio, the perception was that countless horrific acts had occurred in the old Hartford Mansion. The reality was that the curse which befell the house was far worse than any story ever told.
Halloween Horror Nights 22 Street Experiences
As you make your way through the dark and sinister streets—beware. Someone is watching your every move. The Legions of Horror have ripped and clawed their way out of the ground from an ancient buried cemetery long kept secret. They’ll move silently throughout the night, never staying in one place too long. Don’t bother trying to avoid them. They WILL get you.
Rooted in evil these are the patrons of death, and were the first to rise from the cemetery. They’ve summoned the Dark Legions to join them in a night of carnage as they feast upon the living.
DARK LEGIONS: VAMPIRES
Summoned by The Iniquitus, the creatures of the night are here to quench their undying thirst. They lurk in the shadows, listening for fresh blood pulsing inside your living veins.
DARK LEGIONS: BEASTS
The Iniquitus have commanded these grotesque predators to hunt you down. Silently they’ll stalk you…all night long, until they have you surrounded and there’s nowhere left to hide.
DARK LEGIONS: WARRIORS
Slaughtered in a deadly battle, the Warriors have been brought back from the dead by The Iniquitus. Seeking their bloodthirsty revenge, they move under a cloak of darkness. So beware—that’s not a breeze on the back of your neck.
DARK LEGIONS: PRISONERS
At a brutal women’s prison, fire scorched the inmates alive and the charred convicts were trapped between life and death—until now. The Iniquitus have released them and they’re going to kill everyone in their path. Their chainsaws are churning and they’re coming for you.
DARK LEGIONS: TRADITIONALS
These aren’t the fiends from your childhood books. These are the fears that creep inside your dreams. Brought forth by The Iniquitus, these ghosts and goblins have teeth—and they’re hungry.
DARK LEGIONS: THE WALKERS
? We’re not sure what happened here, this was on the website as you can see from the last banner in our logo above. It has since been removed!
